Hi everyone, sorry I haven't caught up on the posts but will do today. Working from home today,so should have a bit more energy :j
Thanks Fmess, re the Dyson. I always said, i'd get one eventually, as most people have had the same one, while i've gone through how many vacuums
This month is so ridiculously tight and i'm watching each penny like a hawk! I was looked at like a zombie yesterday at work, because i didn't feel the need to go to house of frazer at lunch time and spend money on things i don't need because it's a 50% off sale! Totally begrudged spending on a pack of sugar though, lol but i fancied cake and would only allow myself if i baked it!
DD is coming home from uni on friday :j I asked her what she would like as her meal, she wants a takeaway! I don't think so! So, there's a leg of lamb with her name on it and i'll find other stuff, to make a buffet kind of meal, do my version of a lemon drizzle cake and it will have to go down a treat :rotfl:
TOG, so right about the EF fund. Embarrassingly, mine has been my children's accounts i set up for them that only i can access. I need to repair that damage and set up my own and i have finally realised, my finances need a thorough overhaul and until it's done, spending, just because, is out! TOG glad you had a fantastic break :T
Have a good day everyone:A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0 -
Apologies wrote a long post Sunday night but then my tablet threw a wobbler so I gave up after I lost it.
Had a nice weekend, nothing as planned however, didn't get to gig, car making weird noises, couldn't get it in garage that day and didn't fancy drive home in the fog on my own with a dodgy car so played safe. Saved on fuel, drinks.
Instead went to an art gallery hmm not my thing but had a great laugh with a friend, nearly 2k for these squiggly lines my 4 yr grandson does better. I might take up art.
Went for pub late lunch, lovely sitting outside in autumn sunshine and they gave us blankets as it was getting a wee bit chilly. Shared a meal so cheap day out and they are huge meals.
Sunday lovely walk around NT garden so relaxing, have to admit to buying a cake and coffee. Had a blazing row with DD before I went so was teary eyed and needed sugar fix.
Yesterday had a little spend used my M&S vouchers had 9 pounds for surveys so got 4 for 12 pounds meat deal. Also bought some liver and a lemon. Spent 4.75. Looking forward to tea tonight, liver and bacon casserole made last night.
Have gone off the rails lately with my spending and need to take control. Dolly you are right to put me on the naughty step. I have wore my top I bought over the weekend though.
I have my car noise to resolve but spoken to mechanic friend who seems to think he knows what it is, and will get it sorted soon, apparently no rush phew.
Not sure how to get back on track, today will be a SFD. Suppose just have to hide all my cards and face reality. Felt really fed up yesterday looking at my bank balances.
Need to sort out Talk talk nightmare tried re negotiating my contract with them, in light of their price increases but getting nowhere really.

Glad I'm not the only guilty one then:o
Today will be another SFD although I'm tempted to get a treat, I WILL RESIST.
Had a meat free day yesterday, salad for lunch and fish pie for dinner. For tonight an asian pork stew is in the slow cooker. Tomorrow my DH's brother will come over and stay a while. He just sold his house and is looking to buy with his girlfriend, so he's sofa surfing just now (they live and work in different cities). Better think carefully about tea the next few days.
Had to wash all the bed linen again (6th time in three weeks) as one of the little ones came home again with little visitors on their head. I swear DD must have a child in her group that doesn't get treated properly as they are clear and then she brings them home again.
Had a tech low evening yesterday as I spend most of it in the kitchen.
Made a rollie and had a puff but as soon as I did that I threw it away thinking, what am I doing, I nearly made it 48 hrs. I just find it hard to break the last habit of a smoke as a reward once the day is done. Take a break, step out side.....I've gone down to two a day from 10. It took ages but a lot of habits have been permanently broken. This last one will go too. Tonight!
Pouring down today so might go for a swim today as I went for a run yesterday (and get a free shower that way too :P).
Also brought some of DH's trousers that don't fit and DD's shoes that are too small into work, as we have a collection box here for refugees.
EDIT:
Just got a phone call from Tescimo. The refund has been processed and I got a £3 coupon as a good will gesture, resultDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Just found out im getting a work mobile next week or so with unlimited msgs, mins and a few gb of data!!
cant wait to cancel my own contract in feb!
Hoping for a nsd today, no reason not to have one, as i'm in work and have no money :rotfl:Still here..... but working on that!0 -
My day is def going to be a NSD, I'm working at home and have to do my cub group tonight so no need to be spending any moneys.

Hi everyone,
I am claiming today as a NSD I managed to go into three shops today with MIL and not spent a penny !!. They were my favourite shops as well so feeling very proud of myself.
I am planning on the next few days to be SFD so determined to do this.
What are peoples thoughts on switching accounts ? We are with the N@west and unsure weather to switch to another bank but unsure as we will be wanting to get a mortgage in a few years so unsure if it is worth the hassle.
Have a great day everyone0 -
[Bluckystar[/B] im in the process of changing to n4tionwide. The interest free od is the reason im changing, because being on mat leave i need all the financial help i can get!!
Not sure how much it will affect me credit wise, but ive got no moving plans etc so not worrying to much right now.Still here..... but working on that!0 -

I did the switch to Halifax about a year ago to get the £100 incentive and then applied for a credit card a few months before we remortgaged. Didn't interest them at all. The actual credit on the card (£5000) I was given, didn't matter. It did matter that I had £700 on it despite ion 0%. DH had £2000 OD mostly maxed out (and costing him each month), didn't matter. We are both not customers of Nationwide but remortgaged/changed to them and the criteria seem to be random. Things I thought would matter didn't at all. The most important thing seemed to be your monthly income vs your monthly outgoings (and even there important things like pension, childcare vouchers etc got ignored). So I wouldn't worry, just change you account if you want. Plus it's not a hassle any more with the 7 day switch guarantee.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
