Evening all, hope everyone has had an enjoyable weekend. This thread does an amazing job of cheering me up and spurring me on to stick at the OS ways - cos sometimes that woman who can spend money like water tries really hard to get the upper hand in my life, and if she were to succeed months of hard work would be undone within half an hour (actually within 5 minutes in the right shop)!!
1. Having a lovely day yesterday with GS and his dog.
2. Seeing those gorgeous lambs again as they were being taken inside to escape the horrendous weather yesterday.
3. Making 3 lots of soup to enjoy as lunches for next few days.
4. Having a 5 mile walk with DD and youngest gd in pushchair in the blustery weather today - so nice to have that time to ourselves to chat and catch up.
5. DD saying my choc chip muffins are best she has ever tasted!
Take care everyone.0 -
Never seen this thread before but some nice thoughts here. Mine would be
1) Not being able to run in the 1/2 marathon I'd entered due to illness but driving club mates there and cheering everyone on in the sun
2) Making chicken stew for first time with help from OS and it was delish!
3) Selling some stuff on ebay for first time in 18 months and listing a few more bits (some discovered in £1 shop so we'll see how they do)
4) Two loads of washing, basket now empty (shame I can't say the same about the ironing basket!)
5) Reading a book on the settee then having a snooze for 20 mins
6) The general loveliness of my OH and my house bunny, very cute and cuddly
Many good things in my life.0 -
1) Walking in the park behind my boys, listening to them chat.
2) Tackling my mountain of ironing
3) Reading the sunday papers
4)Making fish curry for dinner

Sunday blessings..
1. Took 12 y/o DGD to visit (87 y/o!) DM, had lunch in a restaurant where we were all allowed to have childrens portions of roast so saved lots of pennies, then spend a hilarious afternoon looking through brochures in the hope of finding a bargain holiday we all agree on - we can but try!
2. The drive to and from DM was steady, very little traffic in the car park (M25) so still had 1/4 tank of petrol when I arrived home, most unusual.
3. DM gave me a sack of clothes to sort out for the charity shop, I went through them and found a black vee-neck with 3/4 sleeves. I've been looking for one for ages, thanks Mum
4. Also found a lovely new Boots toiletries bag which I've tucked away to fill with Boots goodies for a Christmas present.
5. Thanking my lucky stars that I have such a sweet DGD, who loves being in the company of me and my DM (and thanking my lucky stars I still have DM, too) and can't wait to go away with us. But we're all just a little mad, so...:rotfl:0 -
My five for today:
1. Making an organic, HM packed lunch of soup, pasta with sauce, HM bread, cheese, fruit and drinks in a hurry - everything was to hand.
2. Driving over the Ridgeway early-ish this morning in glorious sunshine and with little traffic on the roads - the first long drive I've done since Christmas because we have cut our car use down. The scenery was beautiful.
3. Going through files of past articles I have written and collating ideas from them to use again in a slightly different format in a book I'm thinking of writing. Lots of the original articles were based on OS or recycling ideas and it was a real celebration of my creativity to look back on all this.
4. Playing table-tennis with DS2 this afternoon. Cost a fiver but was worth it!
5. Coming home to a clean house and a quorn shepherd's pie that could just be heated in the oven while I had a nap before supper. (That table-tennis really took it out of me! )
Sleep well xxx0
