Five OS Pleasures in your day today

-
Mine are:
1) Having a truck load (about 40) pallets delivered FOC from a lovely man on freecycle for my woodburner. just got to cut them up now!
2) Having my veg box delivered yesterday. There were no deliveries for 3 weeks over Christmas and New Year so it's lovely having them again.
3) Planning to go to the allotment this weekend - 1st visit this year if I make it. :j
4) Doing some HM cards for two uncles, my dad and my gran. They're practically the same as I had no inspiration but they won't know that.:D
5) Having nothing that must be done this weekend. So if I don't fancy it, I won't be doing it. Whatever 'it' may be!0 -
1. The daffodils on my kitchen windowsil are now in flower. Such a joy and to think I had thrown those bulbs in the dustbin. I'm so glad I rescued them as they have given me so much pleasure. Thanks go to Caterina for putting the idea into my head.
2. Found snowdrops pushing through the damp cold earth.
3. Think spring is definately on the way as I actually FELT like fettling the dining room today.
4. Enjoying my sprouting seeds to spin out my salad supplies.
5. Sorry to be boring but it's Friday again so I've enjoyed my baking session - Breadcakes scones mincemeat brownies and blueberry and apple muffins - yum.

1. Watching the new lambs in the field - spring must be coming!
2. Reading the newspaper online - becoming a bit addicted to this when I have time.
3. A friend gave me a very heavy based pan to make chutney in.
4. Helping a friend get ready to move house.
5. Grandson coming for overnight stay and to spend day with us tomorrow.0 -
I have recently discovered this thread & wanted to thank u all as your contributions have uplifted me & helped me on my down days. :T
My 5 for today are;
1) Hearing my toddler son waking up next to me, taking out his dummy & giving me a kiss to wake me up.
2) Looking out my window & seeing my husband returning from work earlier than expected.
3) Hearing that my step daughter passed her English GCSE with a grade B.
4) Having my son go to bed early so that I can finish my chores & relax for the evening at a reasonable time.
5) Sitting down with a cuppa & a chocolate doughnut (reduced to 28p for 4) - Yum!
Wishing you all a lovely weekend! :j0 -
Hello to you all.
Have missed counting my blessings for a few days but have felt uplifted enjoying everyone elses!
1 my DD's 29th birthday and what a lovely young woman she is.
2 been out all with DH all day and had a lovely picnic over looking the Menai Straits.
3 made hm soup to have for said picnic - scrummy
4 visiting friends tonight and laughing so much
5 receiving an e mail from my great nephew aged 10 who has asked me to go and watch him play in a football match on Sunday - I will be one very noisy supporter
Happy Weekend to you all0 -
My five:
1. My DS1 getting an OU assignment back with a 100% mark.
2. Re-establishing some sort of tidiness in our house again.
3. Sorting out my food co-op bulk buy list and working out some nice meals to use up the vegbox this week.
4. Omelette, potatoes, broccoli and carrots tonight for a supper that was plain and simple and very good.
5. Since we put the BM on rather late this evening, I have got to be awake for another half hour to take the bread out, so I have been very un-OS and overridden the heating controls, put the central heating and hot water on and run myself a big hot bath. However, I did put an Oxfam-bought lavender bath melt in it (that's the OS bit), made myself a hot chocolate (more OS
) and lit a candle (very OS
) so I'm about to go and soak right now!

Friday blessings...
1. It was warm enough today not to have the heating on until this evening, and the cats stayed out nearly all day. It won't be long now before we can sit out for breakfast...got to think positive
2. Found two socks with holes in, they get used as dusters and if they're 'towelling' inside they're good for stroking loose hair off the cats
3. Thanks to DD lending me a disc, a lead and some instructions I got everything transferred from the pc to the laptop without calling in an expensive techie.
4. Earned another £10 by signing up for a free trial of dvd's on a cashback site. I'll be running out of sign-ups on there soon but it's a real boost to my Christmas funds while it lasts.
5. Youngest (12 y/o) DGD came to stay for the weekend, she made a loaf in my BM and it's risen far more than mine ever does! I'll get her to make another one tomorrow and watch her closely...;)
6. How I enjoy days like today when nothing earth-shattering happens here, it lets me appreciate the small things that bring real happiness into the world.0 -
Have barely started the day yet, but reading that Disflop is already seeing lambs in a field, and looking outside and seeing sunshine has started the morning off well. That's a big a boost as reading about Kiwiblue picking her apricots. Have a good week-end everybody and don't worry about the £33,000 individual toxic banking debt all we're all picking up.0

I have 5 for this week:
1. Making HM biscuits and cakes and the children telling me they're much better than shop bought ones
2. Waking up to sunshine this morning - bliss.
3. Setting myself small "tasks" after I get home from work every day and achieving them, rather than just flopping onto the sofa shattered!#
4. This probably isn't relevant, but setting up my laptop (that I borrow from work) to be wireless - actually it IS OS because it means that I don't have the "big" computer on all day using electricity!
5. Knowing I've saved money by meal planning for the week and using up some bits from the freezer.
Have a fabulous weekend everyone.0 -

3) Conjuring a free meal from leftovers in the freezer.
4) Going for a walk everyday -it's free, peaceful, and good for your mental and physical health.
5) My snowdrops are coming up:j :j0
