Spending a few lovely days with my ds and his dp.
Coming home! No matter how good the ‘holiday’ is, its always good to come home
Planning my veg growing, budgeting and ‘things to do around the house’ for the nice sparkly new year that’s about to begin,
Reading ‘Wind in the Willows’ (found on my son’s bookshelf) for the first time since junior school
Mostly I’m thankful for my kids, my sister and friends - including OSers - who make my life so much sweeter.... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Life seems busy round these parts and I'm falling behing. Yesterdays pleasures were:-
1. DD coming to give me a lift with my supermarket shopping.
2. DD and children staying for an impromptu lunch and thankful that I had hm jam/lemon tarts in the freezer to give them for afters.
3. Having the DGCh'n for the afternoon while DD went to the sales.
4. DD coming back from the sales with her :money: buys. Nice to see she's holding the OS end up.
5. Getting my drain unblocked, it was such a relief. Never in 40years have I had a blocked drain and I was dying of shame. Seems a contributory factor to this blockage may have been the soda crystals I use in the washing. Yes, soda crystals:eek: . Apparently they're fine used with hot water but on a cool wash can solidyfy. Certainly what came out of the drain looked like a cake of compacted washing powder/soda crystals. Thant's one economy I won't be practising in 2009. Well, it wasn't very economical was it as it cost me £70 to get the drain unblocked:eek:. Never mind it feels good to be starting the new year with a spotless drain. It will be certainly be higher on my list of cleaning priorities from now on. I've always done it but clearly not quite often enough. Now it will be done to distraction. Think this is my New Year's resolution.
