  • 1. Meeting DD for a cup of coffee and a scone in M&S, OS because it is budgeted for. I put £1 per week in my old fashioned cash box and when I have enough then I can have my treat out.

    2. Buying two 500grm packs of yarn in the sale, half price so very:money: and the cardigans I knit will help to keep the heating bills down so doubly :money:

    3. Not noticing the grey and gloomy day because we were in the shops:j

    4. Happy to have my DD to go shopping with, (she'll read this but I'll put in anyway) even though she runs me off my feet.;)

    5. Happy to be in control of my finances even though I did make quite a bit of capital investment today.

    Tuesday blessings

    1. Went to the farm shop and local cottage industry fruit pies were 50% off so I bought 3, one for tea and 2 for the freezer :o

    2. Finished writing all the Christmas cards, they're addressed, stamped and ready to post in the morning :)

    3. Half-jokingly told my DS I want a (small, discreet) tattoo for Christmas :rolleyes2 and when I described what I want he didn't laugh! Instead he said he'd find the cleanest place before I decide to definitely have one. I rather liked the look of the local one with a motorbike in the window..I'd no doubt end up in a clinical sort of place but at least it looks authentic!

    4. Found some very nice slippers in a discount outlet for ex DH, just what he wanted - we're still friends and exchange pressies ( just couldn't live with each other  )

    5. Visiting friend and I chattered like magpies all day! :D
  • Mine for yesterday:

    1. Reusing lots of the packaging that has been coming through the door to send my ebay sales in!
    2. Getting a ham shank for 50p as a yellow sticker
    3. Redoing my budget for next year
    4. Writing a list of stock items to check for and shop for each month
    5. Not using the car!

    For today it is/will be:
    1. working out all the interest rates on my accounts and moving money to make the best use of it.
    2. Make soup with said ham shank which will last me 3 days for lunches at least.
    3. Making my daughters packed lunch
    4. Washing to get ready for Christmas away (massive saving...not buying the provisions for Christmas!)
    5. NSD! (well apart from sending ebay parcels, but the buyer pays not me!)

  • 1. Making homemade potato soup with onions, celery, a bit of leftover cooked bacon and shredded cheese for DH to take for his lunch today. I had the rest for brekkie instead of saving it til lunch.
    2. Leftover mince, potato and onion pie made from scratch for last night's tea for lunch today. Added bonus, DH saying it was the best pie he'd ever eaten.
    3. Nice pot of chili on cooking for tea tonight. Enough will be left to send with DH to work later this week.
    4. Being able to hang clothes outside this morning as it's not raining.
    5. HM brownies in the fridge and one with DH for his lunch.
    6. Not really OS but feeling good that I'm making our home and life the way we enjoy it most without spending a bundle.
    Take the first step.
Even if you cannot see the whole staircase,
    Just take the first step.

    1) I have just read this thread all the way through! And it is number one on my list! Made me feel really happy that everyone is able to get enjoyment in different ways and that made me happy!

    2) Walked in to town and back, nice and fresh out!

    3) Gave Jessica's teacher a gift of cakes to share with the other staff members (OS as I had the ingredients and I didn't have to buy anything lol!)

    4) Having a nice load of laundry out on the line drying (although I am a bit worried it might freeze!)

    5) Lastly (so far today) Having my cat sit on my knee as I type this!

    Hi all

    Here are my five today:

    1 - Another glorious sun-shiny day!

2 - Had a nice walk instead of taking the second bus to where I was going (in the sunshine!)

3 - I saw a nutritional therapist today, who is also a homeopath, so I shall be able to recoup 75% of her fee via HSA (as homeopaths are recoupable but not nutrition therapists!).

4 - Trip into memory lane, walked past the house where I used to live when I first arrived in London, mixed memories but mostly good!

5 - Tonight after the work AGM the organisation I work for takes all staff and volunteers out for a meal at a fantastic Indian veg. restaurant (paid for by the organisation!).

    Good night all

    Caterina
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
