So wet and dreary here today, so:-
1. I was so happy I didn't have to go out.
2. Roasted butternut squash, carrots and onions in the Remoska and added chicken stock made overnight in the sc to make delicious soup.
3. Gave the house a spruce up.
4. Lovely soup and homemade roll for lunch.
5. Baking this afternoon kept the house nice and warm and the heating down.

Oh dear I'd just found this thread then had to miss a few days but just read through the posts and they are such a positive way to start the day, thank you all...
1. Returned from hospital last night, where I'd been for 4 days after having an asthma attack. Had a scan which showed that my lungs are fine
2. DS getting an Indian in for dinner - take away that is, not person! :rotfl:
3. Lots of lovely post to come home to including cards and a foot stool, Christmas present from DM which just came at the right time
4. Getting a phone call from a dear friend in NZ to wish me well - we usually only phone for birthdays and Christmas so it was a very special treat :A
5. DS has offered to do the weeks shop for me (which I usually do on Thurs but had to miss this week) this afternoon, bless him he doesn't like shopping at the best of times so this is also very special
Life is good today0 -

Has to be the Muppet Christmas Carol which was on Ch5 earlier today (such a brilliant version of that story, can't be bettered), followed by a remosked beef mushroom and horseradish stew cooked in beer with a layer of whoopsied spinach and potatoes in duck fat roasted on top (fat from the lidl ducks, absolute treat those too).
I'm sitting in an advanced state of contentment, completely ready for Christmas now. Unfortunately someone seems to have sandwiched in another working week0 -
Well today had the promise of being damp dreary and miserable so:-
1. I invited DD and her DH, DS, and DD to tea.
2. Bought a nice fresh chicken from Mr. S this morning.
3. Spent the afternoon cooking chicken then pigs in blankets in the Remoska, to eat cold with salad and jacket potatoes.
4. Played old fashioned games with the grandchildren.
5. Oh yes, I also bought two gardening magazines this morning, not very MSE as I know I could have got books from the library, but the magazines are topical and will give me the inspiration I need to get going on growning veg. next year, and I'll send for the freebies as well and some seed catalogues.
It hasn't been a miserable day after all.
