My 5 are;-
Preparing all the veg for tonight's supper, chicken stew with carrots, leeks and mushrooms and dumplings, mashed potatoes, butternut and brussel sprouts.
Looking at the scans of my son-in-laws twin babies at 12 weeks.
Getting a phonecall from DD who now lives away from home and in another county. Bless her.
Having a hot bath and hair wash this afternoon, with the sun streaming through the windows.
Looking at the full moon and waiting for OH to come home from his boy's day out.

I must be doing better at the OS thing, here goes-
Getting up early to make chicken curry for tonights dinner
Keeping enough chicken to make chicken and veg pie for tomorrows dinner
Using up manky bananas to make delicious banana bread
Seeing all my veggies starting to grow
Watching my family eat all their dinner and asking for more, woohoo I think I learned to cook food that actually tastes good!!0 -
Hi all
Here are my five:
1 - Shiatsu this morning, my student therapist came to visit me in my own home (because her treatment room is also a guest room and she has a guest), what luxury to receive treatment at home - and she only charged me an extra £5 for petrol (and would not accept anymore even if I offered).
2 - Realising how lucky I am to live in this beautiful house with my lovely family, sometimes the sense of awe and love takes me by surprise.
3 - Nice leftover lunch from last night couscous and bean/veg stew turned into soup, yummy!
4 - A lovely walk in the park at twilight in this gloriously clear, cold and winter crisp evening, the beauty is almost too much to take in!
5 - Risotto with porcini mushrooms and real saffron tonight, all the family is here so treat meal is in order!
Good night all

Haven't added my five for a while, although I keep up with the thread, its one of the most positive and uplifting things on OS! I've been counting my blessings today, I have so much and I keep reminding myself how lucky I am
- Realising, again, how much I love my little house, getting settled in now and feeling very cosy
- Visiting my aunt and catching up on all the news - if I am half as bright as she is at 83 I will be very pleased!
- Doing a stock check and realising that I actually don't need to go shopping for a few weeks (although I probably will )
- Catching up on news with my dd and family in Oz
- Sorting out some things to gift to someone who is needful this Christmas
... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Caterina, I had to hang my head in shame when I read your post of the 8th about the sprouting bulbs you had rescued. At the weekend I had found 4 miniture daffodil bulbs left over from my planting, sprouting in my back porch. I was so disgusted with myself for letting them 'go to waste' that I hurled them in the dustbin. When I read your post, I quickly retrieved them. And so for my pleasures today.
1. Planting up 4 daffodil bulbs in a pot and placing them on my kitchen widowsil, which is cool so they shouldn't become too leggy.
2. A lovely walk in the sun again. I think we are having more sunny days now than we did in the summer, and I intend to make the most of them.
3. Meeting DD and helping her choose some boots.
4. No heat on in my front room again this afternoon - thanks to the sun. I
5. A nice evening with my knitting.
Bella.A man's life consisteth not in the abundance of things which he possesseth. Luke 12 v 150 -
1. having h/m muffins ready for dd, ds and i when dd got home from school
2. my 87 year old nan arriving this evening to stay with us until january
3. realising that OH's coming home with another 3 boxes of food (for £6 woohoo!) but we have such a stocked freezer that i'm not quite sure what to do with it allso good in a way, not in another
LOL
4. feeling well, and appreciative of life and health. i am so lucky to have what i have, and i don't realise often enough just how lucky i am!
5. making 2 batches of rice pudding - one which me and the small ones have just devouredand the other which will be portioned up and frozen this evening

Realising that for my DS's 1st christmas I have managed to avoid paying full-price for anything (through offers, buying 2nd hand, and a very genourous staff shop and discount)
Making a delicious breakfast for myself that is slimming world friendly and cheap
Have tidied the bedroom, kitchen, living room and sat down already!
Realising that I can make the 20 pounds left in my purse last until Xmas eve!
As a lapsed old-styler my biggest pleasure has been realising that old styling is going to seriously help my stress (through being organized and better off financially!)Taking baby-steps :beer:0 -

No need for shame Bella, I do that sort of things on occasions, sometimes I get overwhelmed by having to do all the "save the earth" actions, while tidying up after my dreadfully untidy family.
I would like to have a quid for everytime I have chucked recyclable stuff in the dustbin, in despair!
However I am glad to have inspired you to save the little bulbs and I hope they give you a lot of joy! Soon one of your five will be the pleasure of seeing those bulbs sprout flowers!
Much love
