1. Packing up my Christmas hampers full of HM produce
2. Getting a HM cottage pie out of the freezer so we didn't have to brave the supermarket
3. Making 4 dozen mince pies using my own HM mincemeat made using apples given to me for nothing by a collegue
4. Clipping out recipes from second-hand magazines to put in my book for another day
5. Watching Come Dine With Me with a big mug of tea, my slippers on and everything ready for the working week0 -
Hello all, hope you had all a good weekend!
Here are my five:
1 - Glorious, fabulous sun-shining day!
2 - Cinema with DH, free preview tickets to see Dean Spanley, excellent film, highly recommended!
3 - Lunch at the Steiner School Christmas fair, very nice food, very cheap!
4 - Bought some hand-felted, hand-stitched fairy lights at the Steiner fair, they are so beautiful, they will be perfect for the apple branches I plan to use in lieu of Christmas tree this year!
5 - Knitting with my friends in the late afternoon-early evening
6 - Skip-rescued bread crock, no lid but in perfect order, might use it to keep fire irons or just to grow flowers or veg in.
7 - All family had dinner together tonight and we discussed Christmas plans, how lovely.
Ok, 7 is better than 5, no?
Good night all!
CaterinaFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
1. Getting prepared for the Live on 4k challenge
2. Gorgeous sunset as I was coming back from the supermarket - the whole sky was striped in purple, pink and blue. I stopped and stared.
3. Making a really tasty dinner of chicken breast wrapped in bacon, with a garlic mushroom sauce and roasted vegetable rice, inspired by an item on a restaurant menu (and priced at £20!!!)
4. I made cream...and it actually worked
5. Sticky toffee apple crumbleWe must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
1. Checked the fairy lights for the tree - one faulty bulb BUT found a replacement for it - so now all working and no need to buy new this year
.
2. Baked a batch of 'Star Biscuits' (Asda magazine recipe) just to 'test' prior to doing the proper batch for Christmas (they need slightly longer than the recommended 10mins!).
3. Baked a boil in the pan rich fruit cake - delicious .
4. Baked a lovely cherry cake (not done one of these for ages).
5. Two loads of laundry done and dried on the airer/radiator rails.
6. Roast chicken dinner with stuffing, mash, roasties, sprouts, cauli and 'proper' gravy. Some left over for tomorrow with pasta and sauce and carcasse will go in slow cooker overnight for HM chicken stock - along with the other three that I have in the freezer.
7. Made 2 knitted dishcloths.
8. Finished hooded aran jacket for dgd (13mths).
Phew! - thought I'd had a lazy sunday.

Hi everyone
1. As usual day started with Tai Chi at neighbours, much to the amusement of the rest of the village, most of whom seem to always wander past just at that time!
2. Picking cherry plums from trees at the side of the street, love to use produce that would otherwise just go to waste.
3. made 6 jars of plum jam.
4. Distributed 4 jars of the plum jam around the village
5. made a batch of pizzas for when the hungry hordes arrive in the next couple of weeks.
6. Ditto blueberry muffins.
7. Dehydrated a bunch of onions for the winter stock cupboard.
Been a very busy day

1. Got some beautiful tree decs, reduced 50% and buy 2 get 3rd free
2. Made a turkey curry from yesterdays leftovers (drumstick cost £1.02p and there was plenty left after a roast for 2 of us) and it smells good enough to eat
