1 Looking out of the window on the Tube to work this morning and seeing frost, animals and other wonders of nature

2 a 6 inch toasted Meatball Subway for lunch for only 99p.

3 looking forward to the work Xmas party on Friday with free transport, wine beer, soft drinks, a 3 course dinner and dancing to a live band (only started working there 1 day before they invited me it's only my second week...)

4 bowl of hot soup for dinner

5 smelling the clean laundry as I hung it just now

My blessings today:
1. Tai Chi on the neighbours front lawn complete with friends, cats and the resident sheep.
2. Started new weaving project, hopefully finish it and use as a Christmas present.
3.baking snapper caught by DH, all vegetables from the garden.
4. Enjoying a bottle of hm rose petal wine with DH
5. Snuggling up on the sofa with cat and a book.

my OS pleasure was donating to seeing is believing charity in lieu of giving out xmas cards, it helps blind people in africa with curable blindness - £17 is all its cost to restore sight - the same price as the boots im wearing, it made me quite appreciatibe of a) being able to survive and spend £17 on boots, and b) it made me grateful for my sight - especially on such a sunny, crisp winters day!

1. A 'free' bus ride out through fields white with snow and frost.

2. Seeing sheep and cows in those fields just five minutes from where I live in a very big city.

3. Baking and jam making to keep myself warm this afternoon.

4. Tasting the fruits of my labours - almond tarts and raspberry and white chocolate chip muffins - yum.

5. A chicken curry tonight with some of yesterdays chicken, it warmed me through a treat and I'm now sitting with no heat on.

Hi all

Reverbe, what thread were you looking for?

These are my five for the day:

1 - Great shiatsu session at reduced price with 3rd year student.

2 - Coming back home to a gorgeous hot leek and potato soup, thanks to my DD who I love dearly and am so grateful for!

3 - Managed to do more than 3 hours work today, that means less work tomorrow (I average 3 hours per day).

4 - My friend came to visit and we had a good natter and a bit of a moan about work, we work for the same organisation - nothing like a good moan on occasions!

5 - Went to the WI Christmas open night and stuffed my face full of delightful treats, courtesy of a local caterer who was giving a speech, and probably half a dozen mince pies, courtesy of the good WI ladies (I just cannot imagine myself ever being able to produce those goodies: too lazy, too sloppy :rotfl: )

I can only do 2 today cos I have had a bad day - I think I might have lost my new job. I have only been there a week or so after being made redundant and they are being funny with me. I am still in training and haven't had the full training I need and from trainers giving me their full attention and yet they are saying I am not picking up the job immediately.

1 Sitting on the tube to work and also the free bus ride to another office and back and seeing the countryside in the winter frost

2 bogof Greggs Festive bake which means I also have lunch for tomorrow sorted..

Let's make it three... 3 Readin the OS pleasure thread cos that always warms my heart

Ah poor you Reverbe (((HUGS))), re-reading your post of yesterday full of enthusiasm and then reading your bad news in the other thread, I hope you will find something good soon! Good for you for being able to find at least three pleasures today, pat yourself on the shoulder, it shows that we OSers are really indomitable, positive people, even in the face of difficulty!

Here are my five for today:

1 - Yoga class this morning

2 - Lovely toasted cheese and mushroom sandwich in a cafe for lunch, great treat!

3 - Herbal medicine class, very interesting!

4 - Knitting with friends after the class

5 - Buying boxer shorts for DH and DS, M&S online via Quidco, underwear was buy one get second half price, plus the reduction in VAT plus the free delivery plus the 20% off for today, they cost me less than half the regular price and I am getting some cashback too! PLUS if it is still working, I should get 2% cashback for having paid with my VISA card, not sure when the offer finishes, but it was still on last month.

1 Getting a lie-in when it's cold - ok so I lost my job so that's why but...

2 watching my mate's little girl and her schoolmates sing carols in the shopping mall

3 a free pint of strongbow from Roland afterward

4 a jacket potato for dinner

5 The Closet a French film I'm about to watch on dvd from Lovefilm... I'm about to snuggle up and try to forget everything

Reverbe, I hope you will find a better job soon. Reading about the way you were treated, I think that you are well out of there.
My five today are:
1. Tai Chi with the neighbourhood ladies.
2. Gathering pinecones in the forest with DH.
3.Gratitude to the dear friend who gave me a huge bag of fresh asparagus.
4. Spending the day with OH, who has decided life is too short to work Fridays!
5. Walking on the beach with OH and slightly crazy dog!

This is just the loveliest thread - I'm so glad I found it! Hello Everyone!

1. Looking forward to my new freezer (best buy, cash back, discount, frost-free and big!) arriving tomorrow morning which will inspire me to get back on the OS wagon and fill it with goodies over the weekend.... hm soup, humous, homity pie - can't wait!

2. Bread in the oven now from pre-prepared dough that was in the fridge - so it took me 5 mins and smells delish!

3. Sunny frosty morning with orange leaves blowing around looking pretty (forget the dark wet afternoon!)

4. Trying to answer Millionaire questions snuggled up with freshly bathed DS(9).

5. My lovely DD is on her way home from her pt job - I have baked potatoes ready for her.
