1. Turning the fire off and the heating down now that my guests have gone home and realising that I actually prefer not to be too warm.
2. Finding that I have 10oz lamb left from lunch, so hurray, that's two days meals for DH and me.
3. Knitting a waistcoat (my granny would have called it a hug-me-tight) to wear as an extra layer. Better be quick as I could do with it any day soon.
4. Feeling very pleased that freezers and cupboards are all full.
5. Having a wonderful DH who is at this moment doing the last of the day's washing up without a word of complaint.

The smell ( and later on, the taste
) of a piece of gammon simmering slowly with cider, the last knocking of a jar of honey rinsed out with some of the stock, cloves, peppercorns and bayleaves.
Patting myself on the back for getting up at 7 a.m. to get the washing up out of the way before I came on duty !
Putting my feet up after work with a nice cup of warm milk with a little cinnamon, nutmeg and honey in it.
Braving the cold to take a few brief brisk walks in the sunshine for work and personal reasons, and quite enjoying battling against the chilly wind.
Looking forward to crawling into bed later to the feel and smell of newly washed and hand dried bedding, and tucking my feet round my hot water bottle - hardly ever have a fire on in my bedroom." Baggy, and a bit loose at the seams.. "~ November 8th 2008. Now totally DEBT FREE !~0 -

1. Taking DD to work and her being as good as gold, she sat and drew pictures and talked to the customers.
2. Playing in the garden with DD, watching her running around, giggling and playing - I got some fantastic pictures!
3. Eating a warming bowl of broth when we came back inside, watching DD help herself, dipping her roll in, and making 'mmm' noises
4. We're going to make some little cakes/biscuits later which will be enjoyed with a lovely mug of hot chocolate.
5. I'll probably have a lovely hot bath when DD is in bed.0 -
Here's mine:

4. Eating HM chicken soup for lunch
5. Using money from lightspeed to buy two jumpers from ebay - total cost from my bank to top it up: £1.44working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Hi all
Here are my five for the day:
1 - Going back to my Over 50s keep fit class after a few weeks (my old bones are complaining but I feel SOOO virtuous!).
2 - Spending time and enjoying a cup of tea after keep fit with other women who attend the same class
3 - Lovely bread from the Farmers' Market and the last of the gorgeous cheese that I brought back from Sardinia, for lunch
4 - Receiving an email from a mystery shopper agency giving me a lovely assignment
5 - This is a bit dubious as a pleasure, but going to the dentist  with my gold inlay (that fell out on Saturday) in a little plastic bag, worried that I would have to pay the whole price again for having it redone, and instead the dentist was able to cement it in again and did not charge me a penny, even if the work had been done more than one year ago. This saved me nearly £200! I never thought that I'd post anything related to going to the dentist as a pleasure, shows how you should never say never!:D (Sorry if this is also a bit gross)
Love to all
CaterinaFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Here's mine...
Adding up what I've spent on Xmas presents and working out I've saved about £37 with nectar points, money off coupons and boots points.
Wrapping most of the presents today using paper left over from last year.
Realising I've spent nothing for 2 days as poorly with cold so not been out!
Putting one of the cakes OH made yesterday into the freezer for later.
Getting my gas bill and finding direct debit is going down from £87 to £67 a month.0 -
And for today:
1. practicing Tai Chi with a couple of neighbourhood ladies.
2. Harvesting the first of the basil and making pesto.
3. Watching the chickens meandering around their yard, very peaceful.
4. Finishing the mohair scarf I've knitted for a nieces Christmas present.
5. Starting to clear away some of the kitchen clutter into the new pantry.0
