Hello all, hope you are all well
Reverbe - hope you surivied your football-free weekend. I was delighted that the Beeb finally got the England highlights (but less delighted with the result)
Mine for the weekend:
1 - Not really OS but we had an M&S dine in for 2 rather than going out last night and it was delicious
2 - cleaned the flat from top to bottom and was rewarded with finding an unspent £10 Topshop voucher
3 - My wool scraps scarf now being a whole 5 inches long! (Don't laugh - I'm a beginner!)
4 - getting creative with an empty margarita bottle (a birthday present) and some glass paints and now have a rather garish but striking 'El D!a de los Muertos' style art candle holder
5 - the Beeb getting the England highlights so after refusing to pay to watch the match on line, being rewarded for my OSness by getting the highlights for free:beer:0 -
esmf73 - well done on raising all that money for SSAFA - they do great work - have come across them for a number of my tenants when they've needed extra support. Your DS sounds a 'little love' - make sure it's something that 'Santa' really loves won't you
. And you can't possibly tell us all 'half a tale' - how did dinner with your OH go? And what was 'the talk' all about? If I'm being nosey, just tell me to shut up :silenced: and mind my own business
.
Not a problem!!! Just the usual!!! Told him to pull his weight around the house a bit more as I'm now chairman of a very needy playgroup!! and to get more hands on time with his sons. Dinner was lovely - just a Harvester with their free Salad! And I had a pud!!!!!! Should have been at the gym though I think - worked it all off the following morning :j at the gym.
DS is a little terror alright!!! I've told him that we'll leave a carrot for Rudolf, and a glass of milk / whisky and a mincepie for Santa! So I'll be nibbling a carrot and getting some icing sugar to sprinkle like snow!!! He'll remember the experience this Christmas :rudolf:Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
1. Harvest Festival in the village church today. Listening to the Sunday School Children (including our three) singing and carrying their little baskets of fruit up to the altar was so special.
2. Sunday Lunch in the local garden centre restaurant, lovely local beef and lamb with masses of veg, followed by HM puds, only cost £35 for 2 adults and 3 kids.
3. Picking up a couple of christmassy bits from the garden centre as we passed through after dinner
4. Sunday night is bath night, snuggly just washed kids in PJs demanding "one more" story before bed
5. This one will be happening in a minute... watching Emma in bed with my knitting.0 -
Can I please join in.
For Today
1 Had a full cooked breakfast which was delicious even thoughI made it
2. Took son to park for an hour, was sunny but very windy.
3. Made hm rice pudding in sc.
4. Have done all ironing for tomorrow
5. Managed to do a bit of decluttering.0 -
Mine for the weekend:
1. Enjoying some time alone with DD away at grandparents, whilst I missed her madly, we had fabulously funny chats on the phone, and I got to have a lie in yesterday morning
2. Had a lovely mini reflexology treatment yesterday, which reinforced some of the osteo treatment I'd had on Friday, I'm still sore but happy, as my emotional welfare as well as my physical was looked after nicely by my two lovely practitioners
3. Watched Str*ctly with friends last night
4. Went into the loft yesterday and realised I had a whole car bootful of clothes up there that don't fit as I'm too slim for them.....managed to salvage 2 or 3 items but the rest have gone to the charity bin.
5. I've also sorted out the chrimble presents hidden around the house, so know where I am and what more I need to think of.0 -
Ooo, I've never done this thread before! I'll think about this weekend...
1) Feeding my sister's cat yesterday. She often helps me out but never seems to need any help but she was on a Quaker's weekend so that was something I could do for her for a change.
2) My schoolfriend came over yesterday for tea.
3) Watching Casualty with the same schoolfriend like the old days! And lighting the stove for the first time this Autumn.
4) Breaking up planks of wood with my younger son. They are offcuts from some neighbours who have a joinery business and we smash the bits up for starting sticks for the woodburning stove.
5) Picking sloes yesterday for sloe gin and finding the sloe tree on the footpath that is a hybrid (I think) that has MASSIVE sloes on it!
5b) My brother coming round to play on the Wii this morning then sons and myself going swimming with him this afternoon.

Hi all!
I am not even going to try to catch up yet, I am just back (last night) from Italy and have so much to do I cannot even bat my eyelids for busy-ness! So I shall catch up with all your news later.
Also, no point in recording all the pleasures of my journey because there were so many, but will try to do 5 (all in) and then some for the day.
Once my mile-long to-do list is a bit shorter, I shall also try to catch up with all the thread news. Meanwhile I hope you are all well, hugs to those of you who need them and it is GOOD! to be back!
Here are my five from my trip:
1 - Fabulous weather throughout
2 - Great fun to be with DH
3 - My mum and aunt are still alive and well, thanks God!
4 - Seeing my brother, wife and two little children, as well as my cousin and her family.
5 - White sand, shining sun, clear calm sea - bliss!
6 - Actually I HAVE a 6th which I MUST put here: seeing wild boars at night rummaging in the back garden of the hostel where I was staying at the seaside. WILD!!!
Here are some for today:
1 - Lovely to be back home and see my dear children.
2 - Found the house clean, well done my DD and DS!
3 - Full night sleep in my bed.
4 - Lovely walk in the park with a friend in the sunshine.
5 - Weather still so good that I was able to do two loads of laundry
6 - Decided (and managed, today at least) to get up every morning at 6:30 and found that I can get a lot more done in the early morning. Will try to keep it up.
7 - Holidays are lovely but I really like to go back to my frugal routine (trying not to think how un-OS I have been while away!).
Love to all
CaterinaFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0
