I'm getting so clumsy with my posting - just 'clunked' instead of 'clicked' and lost another long posting
:hello: and welcome to all new posters - brilliant to read your posts and get to know you all
:j:j to everybody who's had baking/cooking/moneysaving/weight loss successes
((((HUGS)))) to everybody who's feeling poorly, lonely or down for any reason whatsoever
:rotfl: to anybody who has a funny story to share
Mine for yesterday are:
1. HM chunky veg soup with crusty bread for lunch.
2. Busy day in work with lots of 'straggly stuff' sorted out eventually.
3. Managed to give out all the notes warning tenants that I'm on a training course on monday morning and had some good chats while 'doing my rounds'.
4. Hearing that one of my tenants is moving out, but she's nearly 90 and feels that she needs more company now. Is going to live with her niece who she's been staying with for the past couple of months on a trial basis. This lady has been one of my tenants for 19yrs and lots of them are going to really miss her being around.
5. Cauliflower cheese for evening meal - cooked two lots and froze one. OH doesn't like creamy sauces, so that's one for me for future use. OH had his 'ExtraSpecial Cod, Prawn and Pancetta Fish Cakes' which were bought on whoopsie :j.
6. Emmerdale and Corrie on TV last night.
7. Phone call from DD this morning - to ask me 'are you still alive'. She and dgd1 (11yrs) had been having a mother/daughter chat and the subject of me/death cropped up - charming. They both said that 'when it happens' it will be so very hard for them - awwwww - then dgd1 said that I've only got about 10 or 15 years left - hence the phone call to enquire about my 'breathing status'. Just can't wait for the next visit from that little minx .
So - I do hope that you're all very much 'alive and well' this morning. Have a great money-saving/os-ing weekend with the company of friends and family - love Ollie xxxx

Hi all,
Here's mine:
1. Finally giving in and taking tablets for my back ache and finding they work very well and make me slightly spaced out and so chilled, and makes issues with OH easier to cope with.
2. Hanging washing out in the sunshine
3. Seeing the sun shining on my plants
4. Managing to sell my dad's van, so finally will stop having those fleeting moments when you think he's home coz the van's there
5. Getting texts from friends - an invite out next saturday afternoon, and an invite up to stay whenever I need to get away for a break
6. Changing the bedding and washing all the sheets so they will dry in the sun instead of hung on the airer in the hall for a few days - and having fresh sheets on the bed.
7. Picking up a bread baking book I reserved from the library and finding out another one has also come in
8. The way everyone helps on here, whether it's ideas on different ideas to cook kippers, suggestions on how to clean your oven (a job I keep putting off), or support and lovely messages for when you feel down. Thanks all.

Afternoon all!
My five for today are:
1. Waking up to a lovely sunny day, with dd3 snuggled up beside me (she isn't usually allowed in my bed as she's an energetic sleeper, but we were both sooo tired last night she couldn't move and I didn't have the energy to put her in her bed!)
2. Finding most of my white towels in dd2 and dd3's bedroom - okay they shouldn't have been in there, but at least I know what happened to them!
3. Arranging a night out with my friend for next Friday.
4. A relaxing bath with no interruptions! Okay, so it's only because the kids are at their dad's, but it is nice to not have to answer questions like "where's the spare kitchen roll" and wonder why they need to use so much!
5. Looking forward to night in with oh!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
1. Surprising my OH with a nice roast for tea tonight with a whoopsied topside
2. Using the veg peelings from said roast to make stock as a base for tomorrow's tea
3. having a nice night in with the OH tonight watching X Factor
4. chilling out in a nice bath with some lovely handmade soaps/face masks/shampoo bought on offer at Lush
5. realising that my food shop which was only planned to last just over a week, will now stretch to Tuesday - making it to two weeks with the addition of some extra vegetables at only £25 ish a week for both of us.0 -
1) Getting up late and being able to persuade DH that he really does need a day doing nothing.
2) Soup for lunch from some YS chicken wings - 85p for a meal of baked wings and rice on Friday for two of us and then the last five went into the stock for the soup.
3) My favourite magazine came through the post, so I spent most of the day under a (hand-crocheted from scraps) blanket reading it through
4) Our Saturday coffee date. While we were there, we bumped into a couple we have not seen for about ten years and then some children we know spotted us and were waving through the window.
5) All four of us were in together this evening, so we had a lovely Saturday tea and then watched Angels and Demons together with a bag full of chocolate raisins
Welcome aboard to all who are posting for the first time, by the way. It's good to see you0 -
Morning all,
1. Getting up early this morning.
2. Polishing off a box of Maltesas from £1 shop yesterday. A bargain but not around for long!
3. Making a meal out of "bits" last night, loved one enjoyed it. New potatoes, asparagus (pricey treat) roasted in oven, and omelette. Quite a mixture but it worked.
4. Getting a chicken from our local butchers and looking forward to making this stretch for a few meals, making a lovely roast and then bubble & squeak and chicken chow mein.
5. Resisting buying things/products/"bargains" that have a short life expectancy - am trying to do my bit to not contribute to a throwaway society. Of course, I have my weaknesses but every little helps.
Have a great day all.
