Good Morning all  - not a bad morning at all - little bit foggy when I first got up but it's cleared now .

newlywed - sorry to hear about your bad back (((gentle hugs))) - and p-l-e-a-s-e DO NOT mention oven cleaning :shhh: - I don't need reminding, honest :o!
Nomoneymummy - well done on the 'in budget' shopping :j and omg at the black paint incident :eek:.
Reverbe/RainyWednesday - Total sympathy, ladies - neither of my teams have done all that well lately - Liverpool in the footie and St.Helens in the rugby league :cry:.
KittyBoo - well done on the breadmaking - I have had a go, but only with packet mix. Was quite successful though .
mummysaver - don't you just HATE that kind of question while you're not in a position to see what exactly they've got upto while your back's turned. Makes your mind work overtime and takes all the joy out of a stolen moment of pleasure .
esiotrot - what a great way to spend a Saturday - hope your OH was pleased with his unexpected dinner treat ;).
Patchwork - love the way you and your OH manage to keep up your 'Saturday-morning coffee dates'.
mineallmine - :j at the Maltesers from the £1 shop. Not B&M Bargains was it, by any chance? I know they've got them in our local one ;).
bunnytoo - another one at the HM bread - well done you :j.
Reverbe - Well done on all those whoopsies (especially the scallops ) and freebies :T.
    Mine for yesterday:

    1. Didn't surface until around 10.20  - absolutely unheard of for me! I must have needed it though.

    2. 4 loads of laundry done with most of it dried on the line during the day. Some is still on the airer at the moment and I've just had to resort to putting a few items (mostly knickers - don't want them on show on the airer :o) in the tumble dryer as it's drizzling outside. Looks like it's on for the rest of the day too.

    3. HM Pea and Ham Soup for lunch (originally made about 6 weeks ago).

    4. Sat on the sofa with a fleece blanket in the afternoon and promptly dozed off - woke up with 'Relocation, Relocation' on the TV - lost about four hours somewhere  - AND after such a long lie-in!

    5. Whoopsied 'Potato, Leek and Cheese Bake' for evening meal - again it had been sitting in the freezer for months waiting for a really lazy moment :o.

    6. Boiled up some dried mixed fruit, brown sugar and tea in a pan last night to make a fruit cake this morning. The fruit was all lovely and swelled when I got up - it's now cooling on the rack . OH was muttering yesterday about 'no cake in the box' - must have thought that the 'magic cake fairy' had gone on strike :rotfl:.

    7. DD's b/f's birthday tomorrow - so need to make another cake to take to her house later. Going to do a 'Lemon Drizzle Cake' for him as he enjoyed it so much when he was at my house a couple of weeks ago. At least he SAID he enjoyed it - hope he wasn't just being polite .

    8. Have got Chicken Thighs defrosted in the fridge for evening meal later - really need to make an effort after yesterday's laziness. I'll roast them with roasties, mash, stuffing, carrots, greenbeans and gravy .

    9. Managed to read a bit more of my book last night 'Dolores Claiborne' (Stephen King) - I can just see Kathy Bates all the time when she played the role in the movie version. It's written slightly differently from how the movie plays out, but it's still rivetting stuff.

That's me done for now - got another cake to make and need a shower :o. Hope we all have a great OS/MSE day - I'll check in again later - love Ollie xxx.

What a beautiful day...who'd believe we're almost halfway through October? Windows and doors all open, a line full of washing out, just changed bedding ( I 'do a bit, rest, do a bit more, rest a bit more', but I get there :D) to get that out too...can't be bad. Guess I'm getting over my cold :T

Esio Trot, I'm a bit slow too lol but it clicked eventually..what a lovely name
Reverbe well done on the scallops and strawberries, you'd never believe times are so hard. My very elderly DM has (tinned) asparagus and (offcuts of) salmon almost weekly thanks to Mr T, good to know there are treats like that for the hardest-up of us
Newlywed good that you sold your Dad's van, I don't understand how some people hold onto things when memories are so very much more important.
Ollie sorry to hear you're not having such good weather, hope it imrproves for you. Good for you having a lie-in. you obviously needed it but don't tell your DGD or she'll really think you're over the hill!

    My 5...

    1. Finding my way to the Panny forum and meeting more lovely people. They put me right in no time regarding my first attempt with the bread maker. I used LoSalt but the sodium content was too low so have bought a huge sack of kitchen salt which will double up for icy steps when the 'dark days' come

    2. Still eating and enjoying my bulk cook-in of pasta twists and bol, varying it with one day cheese, one day no cheese - I'm just so inventive :rotfl:

    3. After watching Stacey Dooley's 'Kids with Machetes' in the week I'm not going to buy chocolate or any products containing it til the manufacturers stop employing children to do such dangerous work. It will only save me pennies a week as I only buy for the DGC and don't eat it myself, and will look out for products that don't include child labour...I'm off on one, as my DS would say

    4. Just coming to the end of a large box of Mr A's washing powder which I've had for more than a year. Adding a scoop of soda crystals and a squirt of Stardrops sounds a bit of a palaver but soon got used to it and it's second nature now - and saves lots of pennies :T

    5. Uh oh, here come de rain...just dashed out to get the (dry :D) washing in and thanked the powers that be that I don't have to water this evening. Every silver lining has a cloud, or something like that!

Have a good rest of the day and hugs to all
    S x
  • Here's mine for yesterday:

    1. WM on early and clothes drying in the sunshine on my balcony

    2. Meeting up with a friend who was visiting from Bristol for lunch

    3. My brother came to visit me in my new flat and brought some homegrown sweetcorn from my parents

    4. Going out in the evening and having a fab time with new friends and only spending £15 :)

    5. Making apple crumble with apples given to me by a colleague from her apple tree.

    Mine for today are:

    1. I've made a ciabatta pizza to satisfy my hungover carb need, with the ciabatta and pizza topping that was in the freezer.

    2. Frrezing portions of apple crumble for later in month

    3. I'm making a big salad so I can take it too work next few days

    4. I'm also making big batch of celery soup. Celery was reduced in Mr T yesterday. Going to have some for tea tomorrow and freeze rest.

    5. Weather isn't too great, plus the hangover/tiredness, however it's a perfct day for sititng on sofa reading and watching DVD's which I'll do once I've finished cooking

    Saturday -

    1. Getting 5 good sized shrubs for £20 on offer at the garden centre - perfect time to plant and they were just the ones I wanted.

    2. Coming across loads of frogs and toads in the garden while planting said shrubs.

    3. Having a delish Chinese takewaway while watching the X Factor.

    4. Enjoying the beautiful weather and being out in just a tshirt in the middle of October!

    5. Having a really good sleep (even though no Sunday lie in for reasons which will become clear!)

    Sunday -

    1. Getting woken up at 5am by friend of DS who had just been kicked out by GF's mum (apparently she came home earlier than expected!) Now some people might see this as not being a good thing - but I feel honoured that he is comfortable enough with us that he knows we'll understand.

    2. Going to Asda and getting loads of YS bargains including figs, avocados, pork chops, mince and salad. Sunday is obviously the day to go.

    3. Sitting at the window and watching the rain on the new garden pond.

    4. Getting out in the garden again when the sun came out and using rainwater from my new rainwater butt - first time it's had any in!

    5. DH making a fab meal for tea - this one which we have all the time: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=336033&highlight=cheapest+healthy+meal+ever with said YS pork chops. My contribution will be the YS figs baked with a spoonful of honey and served with a dollop of Greek yoghurt (sadly not YS but you can't have it all!)
Oh dear, here we go again.

    2. Took a packed lunch to save on spending.
    3. Deciding not to go for a drink on the way home so made up some lovely farrers coffee in the cafetierre - tasted delicious.
    4. Made a parkin, fairy buns and DH has made some Grasmere gingerbread (in the oven now and smells fab) ready for packed lunches this week.
    5. Prepared sandwich fillings to save time over the next few days.
Reverbe - well done on getting the nice lady at the job centre. I didn't get the nice lady at the opticians yesterday!
