    'evening all

What a lot of busy bees you've all been in the last two days :T - no chance of me replying to everybody individually tonight.

First of all hello :hello: and welcome to all our new posters on the thread - lovely to meet you all .

Had a bit of a 'quick start' to my morning - hence no morning posting from me. One of my 'ladies' had taken a tumble and I had an early call-out to assist her. She's fine but developed a beauty of a black eye later in the day - she's very proud of it now ;).

    My blessings for today:

    1. The early visit to Winnie - but she was fine and dandy and loving the extra attention from her family when I left her ;).

    2. Home made Winter Veg Soup (made with everything that would have been thrown out in the past - peelings, veg trimmings etc) with crusty bread for lunch .

    3. DS2 asked me to baby-sit for dgs's 2&3 (aged 7 and 1) at their own house this evening - what a difference it makes to deal with them in their own home - little loves!

    4. Having time for a lovely chat with dgs2 and finding out what he's doing in school these days - doesn't normally want to tell me anything, but appears to be finally enjoying lessons now - learning about the Romans and Australia!

    5. Phone call from a friend that I haven't seen for about 6 months - good to hear from her :).

    6. Enjoying reading everybody's pleasures - what varied lives we all lead .

Getting a bit late now and it's been a long day - catch up again tomorrow - nitey nite - love Ollie xxx
  • Hi Everyone and welcome to all newbies.

    Yesterday's pleasures:-

    1. Meeting DD in town for coffee.

    2. DD buying a lovely jacket almost half price in M&S

    3. Home to an almost free salad from the garden lunch, even though DD was lunching in town.

    4. Buying Dutch Toasts and cereal bars for so that we don't have to buy our breakfast in the Travel Lodge tomorrow when we are visiting my aunt.

    5. Trying to make some more cereal bars but they didn't cleave, so we now have a box of granola type stuff, should make an interesting breakfast with a mashed banana while we are away.

Off now to pack for out two nights away - quite excited.

    Bella.

    1) Having a browse round the charity shops in my town and finding a nice scarf and some card making bits and bobs.

    2) Baking a batch of fairy cakes and decorating with strawberry flavoured buttercream. Yum.

    3) Going out for a not so MS Indian meal and enjoying every last morsel

    4) Getting round to ordering a new part for my car

    5) Email from Lakeland telling me that my order is on it's way - jam jars.

Welcome princess lou. This is a great thread, even if we don't post every day, for helping us all to keep a sense of perspective on the good things in our lives, even when we're having a grumpy day.

    Yesterday's:
    1. Chiro session which really helped my back. I walked home afterwards feeling nicely "stretched and straightened".
    2. Batch of washing dried outside in the sunshine.
    3. Sitting in the garden for a while with a good book and making the most of the Indian Summer.
    4. Dinner last night cooked with our home grown tomatoes, onions, courgettes, peppers, chillis and aubergines. Only the pasta was bought so it was a satisfying non-foodmiles day.
    5. Watching "The Choir Revisited with Gareth Malone last night and thinking how much we all owe those inspirational teachers in our schools who cajole and challenge children to do something different and achieve things they never thought possible.

Caterina - tonight's comment was he could have done with an extra portion of fish

Tell him to go fishing then! :rotfl:

Gotta be quick as I am loaded with work to do before going away tomorrow.

    Yesterday:

1 - Craft class, managed to stitch the first panel of my future roman blinds (from old pair of curtains).

2 - Went to Healthwise guy (doctor's referral exercise plan) and he said because I have attended the first three meetings I can continue on the plan, this means 3 years of cheap gym (by which time I will be 55 and will get cheap gym anyway!).

3 - Packed lunch in the park, homemade sandwiches and fruit, in the beautiful sunshine.

4 - Went to a very interesting talk about making food without using gas for cooking (pickling, sprouting, kefir etc.) with a friend.

5 - After the talk we had a lovely meal at the super-cheap vegetarian Indian restaurant in Chapel Market, if any of you London OSers don't know it you really got to try it, eat all you want of curries and rice, onion bhaji and salad for the princely sum of £3.95!

    Today:

1 - Early start meant I was able to get the bulk of the work I need to do out of the way.

2 - Cup of tea and cake with friend in a cafe.

3 - Friend came back for lunch and DD cooked us a very nice tomato sauce to go on pasta.

4 - Managed to fit the shopping to take to family in Italy, so no need to rush it tomorrow at the last minute before going.

5 - Looking forward to tomorrow going away!

Love to all, not sure when I shall see you again because I am going into the wilderness (Sardinia) where to find an internet cafe is harder than to find the legendary pot of gold at the end of the rainbow! Will catch up on my return.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
  • Hi all,

    Have a great holiday Caterina!

I am feeling rather tired today but lets look for the silver lining:

    1. Half price red rooster pots for 50p at lidl. Now baking in the oven. Along with HM lamb stew.
    2. Filling the food recycling bin, instead of landfill.
    3. Playing cards this afternoon, which haven't done for years.
    4. Talking to a friend on the phone.
    5. Giving a friend a hug today.
:) Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage
:cool2: Cherryprint: "More stuff = more stuff to tidy up!"
Less things. Less stuff. More life.
 Fab thread: Long daily walks
