Morning all! I haven't had a chance to catch up with all the posts yet so just a quick round up from me: -

    1 - having a fabulous holiday :)
2 - and still coming back with left over spending money, woo hoo!
3 - seeing hundreds of penguins on the beach, and getting a very funny video clip of them falling into the water!
4 - the beautiful scenery around where we were staying, looking at it just lifted your spirits every day.
5 - speding two whole weeks quality time with OH, with no DIY or other pressing committments, bliss :)

trying to block out that I am back at work with lots to do :(. Oh well I've got some great holiday memories to fall back on :)

    Havea great day all

  • Hi, i have never posted on this thread before but i read it daily. I need to stop being so negative about my life as i have a lot to be thankfull for........ so here goes.

1, My lovely oh. Been reading alot of diarys on mse lately and there seems to be a lot of people who are struggeling in their relationships/breaking up. Me and my oh may not have the perfect relationship but we are ok and love each other he is a good man and we hold the same values and have the same goals in life and I hope i am with him forever.

2, my home, it still needs a lot doing to it but we'll get there and I am thankfull that I have a home to call my own and with a morgage i can afford.

3, my family are all healthy and well.

4, me and my oh are in work, we both moan about our jobs but realise we are lucky and our jobs seem to be quite safe for the time being.

5, just being alive and well and my loved ones also. An old work collegue of mine passed away recently at a very young age and she always lived life to the full and i bet she would give anything to be alive and have my 'problems'

    Badpenny, what a lovely post!

If a few more people appreciated what they have instead of moaning about what they don't have the world would be much happier. It's an old cliche that the best things in life are free but it's SOOOO true.

    More power to you!

So here are my 5 today (I only started to post on this thread yesterday but already feel I want to stay!)

    1. Repotting my Rosemay into a much larger pot because it's gorwn so much this summer.

    2. Getting the washing dried in the sun - again!

    3. Looking forward to seeing the kids at the drama club where I help out tonight - they are so enthusiastic they just make you feel better.

    4. Watching my cat sleeping on his back in the sun.

    5. Using up the windfalls rather than forgetting and letting them rot on the ground - apple crumble tonight and a couple of bags in the freezer.

    6. An extra one - reading Badpenny's post cos it made me feel happy!
Oh dear, here we go again.
  • Evening all to regulars, newbies and lurkers,

  • Hi everyone,

it's great to be back. i think that just spending the few minutes to reflect on the positive aspects of life helps me to get through the "black patches". So my five.

    1. NZ won the cricket - a fairly rare occurrence these days.

    2. looking forward to Sat night, going to my brother-in-law's retirement party - he had a heart attack and a quad bypass last year, so am delighted to see he will be slowing down somewhat.

    3. Managed to weed a huge square of the vegetable garden, and its starting to look much better.

    4. Trying to spout coffee beans and it looks like I might just have succeeded. Home grown coffee will be on the cards in a few years!

    5. Picked the first of the new seasons strawberries - very very early, but am growing them in a hydroponic system inside a greenhouse.

Hope everyone has a great day

    Blessings be
    Jennie

    1. Brought DD a home-made brown home from working in London, a treat for her and I got to sniff it, lol
    2. Virtual £50 saving by NOT buying myself a gorgeous dress in the M*ns**n sale at lunchtime, lol - whilst it was gorgeous, it will hopefully be too big in a couple of weeks, so would be a real waste :)
    3. DD having a "tummy ache" tonight so I'm letting her sleep in my bed...which means cuddles for us; naughty (as it's a schoolnight) but very nice (and warm!)
    4. Buying a couple of Xmas presents whilst in the big smoke. Must work out what's left to get as I'm determined to keep a better eye on my spending
    5. More sunshine today, made me feel good on the inside and the outside!
  • Hey all

    Mine for the day are:

    1. Taking my nan out for lunch and a catch up

    2. Seeing an old friend whilst out with my nan and having a quick chat

    3. Had day off today :) and tomorrow

    4. Getting loads of bargains in Morrisons, they have lots of offers on at mo and it was all stuff on my shopping list

    5. Tidying and cleaning my flat at a leisurely pace whilst listening to radio

    6. Getting some free home grown potatoes from parents, and cooking apples from the local Post Office/Shop - they have a donation box outside where people can leave homegrown fruit/veg for other people to take for free :) - you can give a small monetary donation too if you want (I did)
