Wednesday
1. I love You Man, 6 ft Under and Evening from Lovefilm
2. Handmade Brooch from fellow MSEr - beautifully packaged - 2 sets of earrings and 2 brooches.
3. Chuck in 3D taped by flatmate - yet to watch
4. free cookies from M&S
5. 3 bottles of wine for £6 from Mr T - in their big sale - 2 white and 1 red.
6. YS breaded pollock, green beans and garden peas from Mr T
7. free pencil from the mall
8. apple & blackberry muller rice for lunch
9. bought jay n silent bob 2 disc set for £1 from library and got the sequal to Friday Night Knitting Club book
10. Steptoe & son on tv. never seen that one beforeWhat Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
1) Bottling some allotment potatoes and beans before I went out and finding two more jam jars in DH's bits and bobs box.
2) Visiting a friend and having a lovely home grown salad for lunch. Then she sent me away with a bin bag full of wool from her parents' loft. Fortunately, I was giving away one of my crocheted blankets and I thought I'd ask her if she wanted it first and she did, so it seemed like a nice swap
3) Making my best chutney ever - beetroot and apple. I tweaked a recipe that had been far too sweet and it came out very well. Potted it in the jars I found this morning and I don't think I shall need to make any more this year.
4) Home grown pots and green beans with our fish for tea this evening. The fish was a bit of a surprise. It was smoked. It certainly didn't say that on the label but that's what you get from picking things up in the reduced section. It tasted nice anyway
5) Have already cooked tea for tomorrow - slow cooked curry, dahl, naan bread from Mr T and will put in some baked rice at the time. Yum
Have a lovely weekend, everyone0 -
:hello: Hello all - quite a pleasant morning in Liverpool after all that rain/wind of yesterday. Still quite a strong wind blowing - but all the better for drying any laundry (need to go hunting for some - can't waste a day like this
).
sparrer - hope you enjoy your weekend with dgd2 - girlie weekend !
catznine - have a good weekend :beer:with your family and Happy Birthday to you both :bdaycake:- home-made of course.
Louba - Now that would be my way to enjoy a 'golf-day' too !
Caterina - I did rather think you must be a bit of a 'superwoman' :rotfl: - phew! Enjoy your Climate Camp Weekend - I googled it and it looks brilliant - hope the climate is kind to you for it.
esmf73 - what a little darling you have there - 'flowers in your garden mummy'. Good Luck at getting those pintacks up from the garden hope no little feet find them first. Found this on http://allgardenplanters.com/how-to/growing-strawberries-containers-patios-porches-gardens/ : Most varieties of strawberry plants will send out suckers (little baby plants) when confined to pots, but it is actually better to cut these off to encourage the plant to produce fruit (instead of more suckers). What you can do though is transplant the cut suckers to some part of your yard and let them fight it out there outside the pot. Sometimes they’ll surprise you, and you’ll end up with a little strawberry patch where before there was just some dirt and weeds.
kiwiblue - good to hear your DD is recovering well from the Swineflu. lol at your welcome home from dog and cat - how typical of the cat
bella - sounds like you've been really busy - hope all is well 'chez bella'! That 'post-bedtime' peace is so well-deserved!
Reverbe - those Steptoe re-runs are great aren't they. Another good haul of freebies there as well.
Patchwork - what a great exchange - wool for a blanket! I gave a bin-bag full to a group of ladies who knit/crochet blankets for the local Dog's Trust and PDSA as it was all dark colours. I use pastels to make pram/pushchair covers for baby pressies.
1. Really busy couple of days for us now that DD has got her keys - she's hoping to move in by the middle of the week as she'll need to find a new school for dgs1. Luckily dgd1 will be able to go to the comprehensive (oops sorry 'Learning Centre') that she had chosen as it's still in the catchment area AND it's on the direct bus route.
2. 'Shank Stew with Dumplings' done in the SC yesterday for evening meal with some for supper as well and left-overs for the freezer.
3. Pea and Ham Soup bubbling away in SC at the moment - will need to use it this evening as not much space in the freezers at the moment - think I may need to have a freezer sort-out this afternoon.
4. Going on a laundry treasure hunt in a couple of minutes - no intention of wasting this lovely strong breeze today .
5. Contemplating a baking session this afternoon - two lemons need using up while the peel is still capable of being grated for Lemon Drizzle Cake .
6. Have a feeling that I may get asked to have at least one of the dgk's overnight while DD gets on with some packing - oh well another saturday night on the sofa (for all the wrong reasons )!
Hope we're all having a good OS/Money-Saving weekend - but above all enjoying ourselves - speak again later - love Ollie xxx0 -
Hi, here's mine:
1. Having a day off and spending it going out with my mum.
2. Finally finding a green grocers selling damsons!!
3. Convincing my mum she can still eat greengages and damsons now it's just her at home (she said it wasn't worth making a pie) - and her getting some individual pudding basins as well as greengages and damsons
4. Planting the plants in my border - it's finally finished (mostly alpines and campanula but should look good next spring)
5. OH starting to dig out to make the raised bed that will have some veg in it eventually.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Morning all,
Not posted on here for a while so here's mine:-
1. Getting up early this morning, DW on and catching up on here.
2. Doing a stew yesterday making 9 meals for the freezer. Going to do a chilli today whilst I'm in the mood and freeze it.
3. Picking up some library books I'd reserved.
4. Making a meal of a door stop ham sarnie with home made oven chips. Felt like a pub meal but ££s cheaper.
5. Finding a really easy Chicken Chow Mein recipe from Chinese Food Made Easy (handy for anyone trying to avoid take-aways) (well done Ollie on doing a HM meal instead of lining the pockets of local take-away)
http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/database/chickenchowmein_89258.shtml
6. Finding my neighbour has been a great friend (funny how true friends come forward when you most need them :A and aren't always the ones you were expecting to be there)
Have a great weekend everyone, relax and enjoy it, good weather or not :cool:Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage
:cool2: Cherryprint: "More stuff = more stuff to tidy up!" Less things. Less stuff. More life.Fab thread: Long daily walks

Ollie that's great that your DD has finally got the keys, hope she's getting settled in well.
Mineallmine thanks for the recipe, think I might try it this week
Mine for yesterday:
1 - we've nearly finished decorating and cleaning OH's flat for renting, will be very glad when it's done but it looks lots better
2 - the girl in the opticians was really helpful. She worked out that my records had been split in two which was why they couldn't find all the details - she's promised to merge them so I don't have any more problems when I try to order contact lenses. So nice when someone is helpful!
3 - dinner at a friends last night, lovely food and great company!
4 - OH ran me a bath last night as a surprise, was lovely after spending the day cleaning
5 - my eb*y items seem to be attracting a fair bit of interest, fingers crossed!
Have a great day!

Hi all
Missed posting yesterday so here it is:
1 - Made pancakes for all the family for breakfast and they all loved them.
2 - Visit from DH's old aunt (with son and grandson), nice to see her still feel ok at her age and good to see the others too, the grandson especially, he is 12, we hadn't seen him since he was 6!
3 - Easy-going day, pottering about.
4 - Walk to Climate Camp with DH, lovely atmosphere!
5 - Inspired by vegan cooks from Climate Camp, we went back home and conjured a vegan Chilli-non-carne using loads of our garden veg (as well as vegemince and other stuff from the fridge).
Here are the blessings for today (some of them being anticipated):
1 - I gave DH all the instructions and he produced the best soda scones you would wish to eat for breakfast - abd brought them to me in bed! I gave him many complimentsand he is very proud of himself!
2 - We decided to skip the camp for today but to dedicate ourselves to more "carbon intensive" activities such as shopping, we are about to go to the King's Road to find plimsolls for him for our trip to Nice.
3 - Friends invited us to dinner.
4 - The book I am reading (from charity sale) is actually very good.
5 - My back seems to be just about recovered, no pain at all (unless I do wrong moves but I am being very careful).
Have a good day everybody xxxFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

Haven't posted in a while, I know, but here are my pleasures for today/lately:
1) The prospect of leisurely making a really tasty pasta bolognese for tea, with some mini homemade bramble crumbles for dessert with ice cream ... mmm
2) Going blackberrying this morning with DH - a lovely walk in the sun with nice countryside and enough blackberries to make about ten mini crumbles for the freezer.
3) Doing a bit of a taste test on the "Value" chocolate bars *guilty look*
4) Slices of Home-roasted gammon in lovely soft rolls for lunch.
5) Watching the Hairy Bikers' programme recorded the other night and DH commenting he'd love to try the Fidget Pie recipe.
Have a lovely evening, everyone.
