My five for yesterday and today - nice and simple.
1. Crisp cotton bedding for ds and dd - lovely.
2. Hm steak pie and hm sultana buns - yum
3. Doing a Reverbe - 2p :T
4. Standing enjoying the cool breeze blowing in the Kitchen window - Autumn's on the way.
5. Enjoying Kirstie's Homemade Home on tv.
A last one for me - over the last ten years I have come to realise I have a few toxic relationships in my life - takers who use and emotionally manipulate me. My final pleasure is that at 44, I finally have the courage to distance these people in my life. Life is too short to invest in relationships that leave you emotionally battered and depressed.
Here's to a good week. Night all xxx
Kittikins, What is cat cuddling? Is it just what it says?'Yaze whit yeh hive an ye'll niver wahnt'
(From Mae Stewart's book 'Dae Yeh Mind Thon Time?')0 -
Yes, great isn't it - you can go along, sign in, they give you a key to the pens and then you can spend as long as you like cuddling as many cats as you can
I was very impressed with the sanctuary, it was so clean, the staff were really enthusiastic, and so many beautiful kitties, with well written information sheets, so we'd know which ones like little enthusiastic children and which to avoid...
I think when the time comes for us to take a cat home, DD and I will have differing opinions though....I like tabby boys, she seemed to prefer pure white/black girls....oh well, suppose we'll take a couple
(NB - am only taking on ownership of a feline friend when a) parents have moved and so we don't have their GSD visiting and b) I know I can afford the food, insurance and vet bills!! It might be a way off...)0 -
1. eldest (severe ME) came downstairs yesterday for tea - and to watch athletics on TV.
2. OH cooked roast chicken + all the trimmings for tea.
3. British gold medal! Well done Jessica Ennis!
4. Mens 100m final! WOW!
5. 9pm onwards - curled up with a nice glass of wine!:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
Thrify well done on shedding the toxic friends. I inadvertantly shed a few when I separated from my ex husband - I didn't realise quite how unpleasant they were until afterwards and I am truely grateful they aren't part of my life any more!
Spent the weekend painting and cleaning OH's flat getting it ready to rent so a fulfilling but fiarly unexciting weekend for me!
1 - Oh's flat now has a gleaming kitchen, clean windows and a nice fresh painted hall
2 - Dinner with Oh's parents on Saturday night after a full day of decorating, lovely food and great comapny.
3 - new bra and bikini arrived this morning - looking forward to opening it all up when I get home!
4 - OH bought me a present......200 pairs of industrial earplugs - I've been complaining about the snoring :rotfl:
5 - coming in to a tidy office after having a bit of a purge on Friday!
Have a good week all

Hello everyone
1- having an 80% HG dinner
2 - spending a good two hours up the allotment
3 - passing my latest OU assignment
4 - a good friend announcing her pregnancy
5 - a NSD:beer:0 -
Seems ages since I posted but back from another bout in hospital and feeling much better. ((((Hugs)))) to everyone, whether suffering or in a good space right now...
My 5 for today
1. Having a gardeners leaflet through the door offering £2 an hour off for pensioners. It came at a time today when I was feeling I could do with some help now (not phoned though as still debating if I really do need him yet)
2. Making up a big bag of books, cassettes etc to go to the charity shop and giving me more space on my shelves
3. Saving a small fortune by not buying chocolate, crisps, buns etc now I'm on a low fat diet, (I have to lose 2 stone) and not missing them thanks to all the varieties of fruit in the shops at the moment
4. Starting the first week of a 7-week pulmonary rehab course and looking forward to gaining some benefit from it
5. Hearing that a dear friend in NZ is coming to UK at the beginning of Sept. He comes on business 2 or 3 times a year and we get to spend a couple of days together. Not enough perhaps but I so look forward to the short time we can have together
Night night n God bless

Ollie - welcome back, hope that super kitchen hasn't spoilt you. I seem to have returned for my holidays with a severe attack of tidy-itis:-
1. My wardrobe has had a major clear out and looks much better.
2. My two freezers have been sorted and thoroughly cleaned ready to restock. Mr. S has half price beef joints at the mo, so I'll be getting some in ready for the posh visitors.
3. HG cabbage and beans on the dinner tonight along with a courgette which thought it was a marrow chopped with onion and sprinkled with ginger and done in the Remoska.
4. DH washed a lot of pots and planters ready for me to sow more saladings.
5. All holiday washing now washed and dried. Just leaves the ironing

Welome back to Sparrer too.
1) 1 lb blackberries picked from the messy bits of my allotment. Compared to all the neat rows in the old timers' allotments, it really is rather haphazard but it seems quite productive.
2) DD and I hit the charity shops this afternoon. We got one or two things for her that I might just borrow ... Then we had a coffee and went to the library. A lovely afternoon and quite frugal
3) DS brought his lovely girlfriend home for tea. She's American and had never eaten custard before she came to our house. Or trifle. Or roast potatoes. DS has just reported that she says she'll come round whenever she's feeling malnourished
That's it, but quite enough for one day. In fact, it's now tomorrow. Sweet dreams!0
