Just to let you all know that I've pm'd Caterina and had a reply this evening.

She's staying in a hostel in Cork at the moment - not a very pleasant one this time unfortunately.

She and her DH are still speaking on the phone and things are looking promising for them.

Quote from her pm: 'More updates soon online, but now I am running out of time so I cannot go and post on the forum, please give them all my love and let them know that DH and I are speaking and hoping to fix things on my return.'

So Good Luck to them both! Let's all hope they can work things out and that it won't be long before she's back home with him and her family.

    Ollie xxx

Thank you everybody for your kind wishes, and encouragement for weight loss. We might not notice it creeping on over a period of time but hopefully will notice it coming off. Will do what I can for both of us Bella :D

    Tuesday blessings..

    1. An invitation to spend a weekend in Yorkshire, don't see distant friends very often often then two come along almost at the same time. Of course I said yes :D

    2. Did a Reverbe and found 2pence outside the pulm rehab venue :T. Told 12 y/o DGD2 about this a little while ago and she's been walking with her nose to the ground ever since.. not found anything as yet but I'm sure she will soon

    3. Spent an interesting hour on line looking up Blackpool discounts as Ollie suggested and found quite a lot of 241's etc which will be very handy for our trip in October.

    4. Called in at the farm shop on the way home this pm and didn't spend any money - unheard of! Feeling very self righteous as I'd gone in for two big ceramic pots but didn't see anything that grabbed me (at the right price ). So a NSD and can make do with the plastic ones the patio roses are in for a little longer.

    5. Cleared a few more bits and put them on freecycle. Isn't it odd how the things we think are rubbish are snapped up and the things we think will go just like that are still here..

    Night night all, sweet dreams

Thanks Ollie but it'd actually crap. It is in Reading which will cost me most of a day and a days wages to get there and back, is only part time for a coupla months and doesnt even start til October. The scary thign is the way they found my details including phone number. I am only signed up with Reed .co.uk a reputable company and apparently they found my details on another site. I am going to phone reed now.

    1. New bed was delivered today, and they've taken they old saggy uncomfortable one away.

    2. Mr LW working from home today.

    3. HM cherry ice cream.

    4. Grooming my little canine house-guest.

    5. It's 15:30 and Mr LW has just finished work for the day (he started at 07:00)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • 1) Making plums pickled in vodka. They look good. I can't wait until Christmas. The plums are cheap in Mr T's and I used value vodka. I think each jar cost about £2.50, which is not too bad
    2) Met DH for lunch as he has been working hard and just having an hour's chat away from all the responsibilities
    3) Last minute invitation from a friend to see an open air theatre production. I took the place of a friend with flu but it was lovely for me to be whisked off and driven out.

    Good morning all

zarazara - isn't it great how much difference a change of route home can make to you. I really wish I'd kept up with my driving lessons a few years back :(.
bella - I loved it when I introduced my kids to my childhood haunts - 25/30yrs ago :o - and now they're passing those same places on to their kids too :j. I have to keep a straight face when the dgk's get excited about 'going to the caves' (an old sandstone quarry) and the 'funny little house with no windows on the big hill' (an old gun turret post).
Kittikins - :j on the new bank accounts and £50 bonus.
sparrer -how 'restrained' you were in the Farm Shop - well done girl!
Reverbe - sorry to hear the job offer wasn't up to much after all. I do hope something else more suitable turns up for you soon. Good Luck with the website owners and their privacy policy.
Louba - What great news on your OH's flat and what a great OH you have! Dinner, shopping AND decluttering in your absence - 100 brownie points for him :T.
LameWolf - Hope you and Mr LW had a lovely evening together ;).
Patchwork - An open-air production - what a lovely treat for you :).

    Mine for yesterday:
    1. Had a lovely meeting with some tenants about a gardening group they are forming - they've received a grant of £419 towards some garden furniture. As they only expected around £50 it was great to be able to give them the good news.
    2. Was very brave regarding my comp yesterday. I replaced my Word package with another one and did it correctly :j THEN I removed the Macafee and replaced it with Kapersky and it's now fully protected . Only had to ask for help once - luckily DS1 was around at the time. Don't know why, but my 'Thanks button' is now working properly as well .
    3. Chilli Minced Beef (whoopsied) and Beans (using dried/soaked mixed beans) with Pasta and Cheesey Garlic Bread slices (whoopsied) for evening meal last night. Enough for two jacket potatoes saved and frozen - I got to it before OH found it :rotfl:.
    4. OH is really looking forward to the cricket today - should keep him quiet and out of my hair for the day ;).
    5. Poached egg and Baked Beans on Toast for evening meal tonight - keeping it simple today :).

Hope we all have a good money-saving/os day today. speak again later - love Ollie xxx

Good morning all, another lovely morning again here. Hope everyone's day is good as possible, ((((hugs)))) to everyone who needs or just feels like one..

    My blessings...

    1. A fun night virtual DD/puppy sitting. She has a new addition and was trying to keep it quiet through the night so as not to disturb her DH. Told her that as they've now got 5 he should be used to a few disturbed nights but it was fun watching the puppy on cam, especially when she was attacking DD's toes and the skirting board :rotfl:. Just heard from DD that pup is sleeping soundly now, little madam

    2. Disturbing sounds in the night (which I wouldn't have heard had I been sleeping ). The street light outside my window was 'popping' so phoned the HA this morning and they're going to contact the relevant dept straight away to come out and see to it. It's a very good, small HA and do what they say they will

    3. Have weighted myself (I know I shouldn't but I'm impatient) and appear to have lost a couple of lbs this week. Gave my DN some higher fat content bits from the freezer, she in turn went to Mr T last night and bought me a couple of my very favourites, blueberry muffins . There's just no resisting Mr T's I'm afraid as they seem much nicer than any others I've had, so one for me and one for my little lodger, or maybe one today and one tomorrow...how good am I going to be, I wonder?

    4. A good meeting at my fellowship last night, lots of laughter and happy faces. It's lovely when everyone is having a good day and sharing their positive feelings :T

    5. Just counting my blessings, thanking the powers that be that today I have the support of my family and friends, am debt/credit card free, can manage on my pension, have a lovely little house to spend my days in and live in a peaceful country where the health service is excellent, and free. It doesn't get much better :A

Wishing you all as many blessings as I have today
