Hiya all,
Today some things to make me happy after a really horrific Friday... My mother in law ended up on one of the wards I work for, I had to have blood taken and I found out I'm allergic to the numb-y cream, I didn't get a new job eeep and my lecturer - to whom I owe my life - died... Friday truly was awful.
Today I went to my new house which has previously been lived in and trashed by students living up to the stereotype  and:
I managed to put up with the spiders. Go me. :j
I got the oven which previously would have made most people retch spotlessly clean with soda and vinegar. Oh and some elbow grease.
I found out that Bethesda has a nice butchers and a knitting shop (hopefully, they can give me some tips on the jumper I'm knitting my beloved uncle.. who owns my new house )
Aaaand.. measuring the windows and my piece of beautiful blue toile de joie, I can make curtains from it! Just about enough for tab top curtains and a cushion. Oh happy days.
I also tricked Mr Maitane into going to Mr T's so I can stay at home with my puffy eyes.
Not a bad start after such an awful yesterday!"We always find something, hey Didi, to give us the impression we exist?" Samuel Beckett, Waiting for Godot.

Hi all
Maitane well done in finding pleasures even after such hard day! (((HUG)))
Many pleasures in last couple of days, bu am on an unfamiliar laptop so I shall be brief:
1 - Made it to Galway!!!
2 -Met my dear friend and her daughter who I used to look after, she is so lovely and grown up!
3 - Stayng as guest at my friend, it is lovely to catch up and her place also is wonderful and peaceful!
4 - Homemade soda scones and eggs fresh from under the chickens for breakfast - unbelievably tasty stuff!
5 - trip to Burren and cliffs of Maher - stunningly amazingly beautiful landscape.
So many more pleasures but it takes me ages to type so will update another time.
Love to all xxxFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Sorry to hear about your awful day Maitane and a happy birthday to Primrose
1) Had my hair done by a new person today. They've put prices up by a whole £2 but it's well worth it at that salon
2) Brunch all together afterwards and I made it so that we didn't pay to go out. Saved £20
3) A bit of patchwork whilst DH snoozed on the sofa
4) Our Saturday date at a local coffee shop and I've asked them to stop saving the mini jam jars for me now, as I have about thirty
5) An invitation for an after-wedding party for one of DH's colleagues. They are also providing some work experience for DS later in the year. Spent the evening at his parents' house admiring the garden and eating all the gluten free food they had got in specially. We felt so welcome
6) Just about to do the usual Saturday film and chocolate raisins together. Persuaded DS and DH to ask for a free film as we have enough tokens on the card and DD took over to make sure they got it. Bliss.
Have a lovely weekend everyone0 -
1. Two carrier bags of books and odds and ends taken to the charity shop.
2. Had the afternoon to myself in the garden pottering around as OH is now back watching his Saturday afternoon football matches.
3. Lovely dinner this evening with virtually everything home grown: potatoes & herb salad plus a tomato, green bean & onion salad.
4. House vacuumed from top to bottom so feeling very righteous.
5. All my washing dried and ironed.
6. Spotted some ripening damsons in a nearby hedgerow. Must go foraging.0
