Thank you all still for the good vibes, they seem to be working, we are communicating quite peacefully via mobile and I even called him to let him hear some fav live Irish music (so he knows what he is missing, the silly bu**er! LOL)

Anyway here are my pleasures, in random order:

1 - Up early, fried eggs and toast for breakfast, cooked in the hostel kitchen - it is so much better to be able to cook my own food than having to pay over the odds!

2 - Bought my bus ticket for 4 days travel out of 8, going to cover a lot of Ireland in the next few days!

3 - Bought a red tin whistle, tried it and I can still play (badly)! Ought to go busking if I run ouf of money, I know enough Dubliners songs to see me through LOL

4 - Free live Irish music with dancers in a little food mall off Abbey Street, in the middle of the afternoon, great stuff and I was awake to listen to it!

5 - Visit to the Decorative Arts museum, discovered the work of Eileen Gray, architect and craftswoman. Lovely museum.

6 - Last but not least, and I left it for last because it has been the absolute BEST: meeting for lunch with the lovely Meanmarie (this is her MSE name but it soooo does not apply to the person, she is great and not mean at all!!!), who is a really lovely fun woman and we got along very well. It was like meeting an old friend, which I suppose she is, after all the years that we have known each other on this forum. Pity no other Dublin OSer could meet us but we still had an excellent time. Thank you for a lovely lunch, too, Marie, I owe you one in London, see you there soon hopefully!!!

Love to all, off to sleep now, early start tmorrow, going to Galway, long way on the bus.

    Caterina xxxx
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
  • Hope everyone is keeping well - look after yourself Sparrer and welcome back to GrandmaSam. Caterina - glad you are enjoying Ireland and taking some me time.
    ((((Hugs)))) to everyone else.

    My five:

    1. A walk this morning that did wonders to lift my low mood. I get so cross with myself some mornings when I wake up depressed for no real reason - I don't know why but I find mornings really tough some days. I am lucky though in that my mood usually lifts through the day.

    2. A hm lentil curry that was much appreciated and devoured by the troops.

    3. More painting - second coat of a gorgeous sky blue in the bathroom - looking good :D

    4. Listening to the sound track of Ocean's 11 - I love that film with Gorgeous George and Beautiful Brad - mmmnnnnn :D

    5. A lovely day here today - blue skies and sunshine :T

    Sleep well everyone xxx
  • Oooooh George Clooney, good call Thrifyscotslass!!!!

I have had a poorly day today but DS has been an angel so it was bearable on my own. I made good use of the sofa time though and have researched a weeks worth of dinner recipes and written a list.

    1. Discovering so many lovely new veggie recipies for dinners.
    2. Eating the yummiest biscuits that I picked up fro Lidls.
    3. Seeing that my chilli plant has three baby chillies, honestly I have smiled everytime i've looked at it today!!!!!
    4. Spending nothing at all as I haven't been well enough to leave the house.
    5. A lovely friend offering to help me take the cat to the vet tomorrow with baby in pram, lovely friend!!!!
  • Evening everyone!

1 - a lovely five mile walk this morning, completely set me up for the day
2 - the first red tomatoes up the allotment
3 - the biggest blackberries I have ever seen off our own bushes
4 - discovering a wonderful new track on six music and then finding the band were sending free mp3s in exchange for an email address
5 - Clint Dempsey signing a contract extension (not really OS but pleasurable nevertheless)

  • Lovely to see so many different people all able to share their pleasures

    Mine were

    1) Cleaned up. I like that neat and tidy feeling
    2) Went to Mr T's and had £26 in vouchers, which reduced the shopping bill somewhat
    3) Planned in a snooze after I had finished everything and felt much better afterwards. DH and I were up until 1 am this morning talking, which is good, but I felt really ropey until I had caught up with myself
    4) Went to the allotment and ate the strawberry. Yes folks, that's it. One. Brought some runners home, though and put them in a bare spot in the garden.
    5) Made more jam - I only do about 2 jars at a time - and am hoping someone on the preservers' thread will have a nice recipe for cauliflower pickle as I have a gigantic cauli to use up
  • lovely thread this one!

    1) scrubbing kitchen floor

    2) watching telly with the youngest

    3) getting all the washing dry

    4) 2 hrs peace whist middle one had a driving lesson.

    5) being able to get on the computer....
    :jFlylady and proud of it:j
