    Hello everybody :hello:

Another busy couple of days in work - finally had my one-to-one with my Line Manager - all fine (phew)! I work myself up into a right tizzy over things like this and imagine that she's going to find all kinds of faults with my work. Then the night before, I'm awake all night imagining how I'll be packing up everything and having to move because I've been sacked . I really do need to get more positive where work is concerned - been doing the job for nearly 19 years, but it's changed so much since I first started!

I've had a quick glance through the postings - wow! there's lots of them - so, obviously, you're all keeping up the good work .

'Calamity Jane' has really been knuckling down to more sorting out with DS1 doing frequent runs to the local tip with all the rubbish.

She's back in court tomorrow over the reposession (her ex-OH has to attend as well). I've told her to go for the sympathy vote and take the kids with her BUT there's been a very sudden development........

One of her neighbours offered her £62,000 for the house yesterday - that's the amount she needs to clear the mortgage and the loan on the property (it's a 3-bedroom end-of-row-of-three, with downstairs bathroom, c/h and d/g plus garden to front and rear). They won't make a profit BUT it would leave them with no debt on it! He was going to see his mortgage company this morning but I've not heard any more today - so it's fingers crossed................

Made a great Turkey Casserole in the SC yesterday and bulked it out with soup/broth mix and lentils. Managed to sneak some courgettes, mushrooms and peppers into it as well. Served with mash and broccoli (talk about veggie overload :rotfl: pfft!) - lots left over and now in freezer for another meal .

Also made a Lemon Drizzle Cake - boss said she loved it last time she came for my annual competency review - so I thought it would be a good start to my one-to-one :j.

Really miserable morning here - lightning around 7.30am  - but sun was shining by lunchtime. It's been very blustery as well - brilliant drying afternoon. Did two loads of laundry this morning and the towels have dried great on the line.

Home made Chicken and Broccoli Soup for lunch with some whoopsied granary rolls from the freezer. OH wasn't very impressed with the soup, BUT tough luck - I liked it. I'll make it again, but make sure I freeze it in single servings :).

DS2 visited yesterday and mentioned I should get some chickens for the rear garden! Not sure if there's any rules and regs about livestock being kept at our properties - but I'm very tempted. Will need to check out a few things .............. animals-46.gif

I'll pop back in again later, providing I don't drop off to sleep on the sofa.

(((((((BIG HUGS))))))) to all who need them - love Ollie xxx

1, Delicious HM veggie Shepherd Spy for dins tonight - the 2nd half of the one I made yesterday, so only need to nuke it when Mr LW gets home (he's working late tonight).

    2. Postman brought me a free sample of Dove body wash.

    3. Watching a pair of collared doves sunning themselves on the garden fence.

    4. Forgot to make a pud for tonight, but it doesn't matter, as there's some HM strawberry ice cream in the freezer.

    5. Looking forward to Molly-Dog coming to stay with me tomorrow, for a whole nine days!

    1. Last day before holiday and all is packed and ready to go.

    2. Somehow managed to get all the pre holiday wash dry despite all the rain - no TD here.

    3. The lawn dried up enough this afternoon for DH to get it cut before we go.

    4. Lovely microwave dinner, i.e. a reheat of what we had last night.

    5. Just one more sleep :T that's if I manage it.

I am taking my lap-top on holiday so might just be popping in to say hello.

    Bella.

Hope you and OH have a safe journey and a great holiday, Bella :j. Don't forget to 'pop in' and let us know how things are going.

    Bon voyage!
  • Bella - hope you have a wonderful holiday.

Here are my five for today:
    1) A big box delivered from my approved foods order. It's like christmas opening all the boxes inside!
    2) DH's day off. Just spent the day bimbling around the house rather than feeling the need to rush off out and spend money.
    3) DS1 feeling much better today.
    4) DS2 making improvements every week at his swimming lessons.
    5) The rain has given way to a beautiful sunny evening and the boys are playing outside before bed (I'm loathe to call them in just yet).

  • Tired today after a l-o-n-g day visiting a friends house for a 'playdate' (for the kids not me) so will keep it short...
    1. Another successful 'dreamfeed' last night meaning that DS slept through until 0700 this morning :)
    2. DS going back to sleep after his 'breakfast' and allowing us all an extra hour in bed :j
    3. Playdate at a friends, the kids entertained themselves, the babies slept and the mums gossiped and managed to hold proper conversations :j
    4. Arranging a swap day with the other mums today, (we all have two children each, of roughly the same ages and differing sexes) we're all going to get together with our outgrown toys and clothes and swap around. Just need to 'convince' DH to look after the kids now ;)
    5. The mummy host bought those new expensive M&S cupcakes as she knew that a few of us had been eyeing them up. They were good, but not worth the pennies, we all agreed we could have baked better. I know some of you are old hands at all this baking from scratch but it still tickles us all pink ;)
    G'night all

    Happy holidays Bella!

Ollie, glad to hear about possible good resolution for the house, fingers crossed. Also good news re. your one-to-one with line manager (I know how you felt, I also get in a total tizz when it comes to authority figures hehe).

    Good night all!
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Ollie - wow, I really hope DD gets the offer firmed up, that would be so good, keeping everything crossed here x

Reverbe - you keep finding those pennies girl, I admire you for it!

Bella - hope you have a lovely time on holiday :)

Scrummy - glad in a way that the M&S cupcakes aren't amazing, I'll save my pennies (was thinking of getting a pack as a major treat for when I come off my diet, but shall find something else to blow my calories on, lol)

    Mine for recent days:

    1. DD and I spending what felt like ages watching a beautiful butterfly resting on the path this evening after a visit to the library
    2. A lovely friend texted me out of the blue and is going to come and see me tomorrow evening
    3. DD telling me a new joke :) She has 3 in her repertoire now, bless her
    4. Visiting a neighbour and getting excited on her behalf about her plans to make the most of redundancy to engineer a change of direction
    5. Tentatively looking into as cheap a trip as possible to EuroDisney (shhh, don't tell DD!) before she starts school. Not really sure why she wants to go there, she doesn't really know who any of the characters are, but I'm sure she'd have a great time really....

I'd like to thank everybody for all your kind wishes and hugs - it's good to know that people are 'batting for you' when things get a little rough :o.

frugallily - and welcome to the thread .
newlywed and scrummymummy - hope things get a bit easier for you both - don't try to rush everything too much. Make sure you get some 'you time' - (((((for you both))))).
kiwiblue - sorry to hear about your friends - such horrible news for you all. :T on your OH's post op report.
sparrer - hope you all enjoy your trip to Blackpool :D - it's a good idea if you check out discounts before you go - some of the attractions can be quite expensive. I paid £12 (£8.25 on-line!) for an afternoon in the Tower Building - didn't even realise it closed at 5.00pm!
Louba - hope you enjoyed your book club meeting .
Caterina - Have a good time babysitting :j.
Blimus - :T on the Bingo Win ;). Sounds like your boys are enjoying their school holidays.
    thriftyscotslass - happy d-i-y-ing!
sparrer/Caterina - can I join the 'dotty woman brigade' too please? I treated myself to having my tragus pierced while on holiday last year - DS2 and DD were 'not amused':eek: - I may just have something else done to provoke another reaction :rotfl:!
Reverbe - keep your chin up, girl - but not so much that you miss your 'Pennies from Heaven' ;). You go, girl - when the Good Lord gives, who are we to refuse!
Nitha - well done on just buying bread - something I can never manage :( - I have to buy loads and stick it in the freezer to resist the temptation of a mid-week shop.
Primrose - well done on the veggie growing :j.
LameWolf - enjoy your time with Molly-Dog :) - sounds like a fun companion.
scrummy-mummy - sounds like you've got a great mothers' group going there :j.
Kittikins - great day with your DD - I'm sure that [STRIKE]you'll[/STRIKE] she'll love EuroDisney ;) - hope you find a bargain.

Hope you all get a good night's sleep and raring to go for another day of os-ing tomorrow - love Ollie xxxx

By the way, is anybody else finding the 'thanks' button a bit of a pain to use at the moment? Maybe it's something to do with my comp/settings - but I'm definitely struggling with it since getting this one.
