Evening everyone, hope you're all coping with your trials/problems/concerns...hugs to everybody
Tuesday blessings
1. A NSD
2. A friend brought me some roses, 3 sets of feet for my big garden planters and a beautiful hand painted tile, for my birthday (which was at the weekend but I was away). She also brought cream cakes to have with our coffee - bang went the low fat diet today!
3. Postie brought me some toiletries to trial, just when I was going to go and buy some
4. The coach trip to Blackpool my neighbour and I saw is full but we found a nice hotel so we'll drive up. Even with petrol it works out cheaper than the coach tour so it was worth an hour's on line search. Her DD and my DGD are excited already and we're not going til Oct half term
5. Dinner was a stir fry of all sorts of veg from the fridge and freezer with sliced Quorn sausages, in a garlic and soy based sauce. It was very filling and there's enough for tomorrow so a no cook day, which saves fuel
Night night n God bless, hope you're all sleeping soundly

Thanks Blimus, the books come as PDFs so you see them on screen as normal print and can move increase the font size if you're feeling tired - clever! Seems quite easy to download the books and it came with 100 free! I think you can put audio books on it too but I havent' tried that yet.
Kiwiblue so sorry to hear your news, hugs from me x
Scrummymummy sorry to hear you're having a difficult time, I don't think any steps are too small to count, sometimes it's the littlest things that make the biggest difference

Hi all, been struggling too scrummy mummy so can completely relate to what you say. It's important to try and find the smallest things to be thankful for though. So here's mine:
1. The roses in my pot coming out and smelling so sweet.
2. Visiting a homeopath and her being confident she can help.
3. A kind gift of a cheque to pay for said homeopath visit.
4. Potato farls, smoked salmon and poached eggs for breakfast.
5. Being reminded that some people really do care how you are (I often find it hard to believe people are really interested so tell them I'm fine, when I'm not).working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

Hi all
kiwiblue, so sorry to hear about your friends, I cannot begin to imagine how terrifying it must be to receive such news.
scrummymummy and newlywed, I hope that you will feel more positive soon, thank you both for making an effort and coming online to share your pleasures with us even when feeling in a challenging state.
Hugs to all who need them and happy holidays to RainyWednesday!
Here are my pleasures for the day:
1 - Hair colour change! Went darker, but still with some blond highlights, but the main change (which is the trademark of my impending birthday) is my pink-purple fringe! I do it to defeat the idea that I am growing old, started it just before my 50th birthday and intend to continue as long as I can!
2 - MY DS has a 2 for 1 voucher for a local pizza place (not a chain, and very good food!) and has asked me to go with him - I shall pay of course! It is lovely that he wants to spend time with me, though, my BABBY!!!
3 - The baby's mother booked me for 2 hours for tomorrow, that means that I can earn some extra money to go out with my son tomorrow after the babysitting (see point 2 above).
4 - Great workout.
5 - Going to have dinner with some friends, was going to cook something to bring with me but DD and her BF are already in the kitchen cooking so they will do a few extra portions for me to take away. Handy!
Have a good evening, everybody xxxFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
:T{{{{{{hugs}}}}} to the sad, lonely and depressed.
Today's pleasures:-
1. Giving the house a pre-holiday clean so it will be nice when we come home.
2. DH taking me back to the craft shop we found yesterday.
3. Spending all my holiday money (hard saved 20p pieces) on crafting materials, but as our peanut free zone (thanks to DGS newly aquired allergy) holiday is set to inhibit spending and the met office has revised their forecast at least I can look forward to some crafting and hopefully have some cards to sell when I return.
4. Cooked a turkey thigh for dinner and had lots of veg to use up so have plated up two dinners for tomorrow, so no cooking :T and a few dollops of mash to go in the freezer.
5. The last of the turkey sliced up for sandwiches on the journey.

Going to the market and buying strawberries cheaply and making strawberry and mint jam. Drying all washing WITHOUT using tumbler even though it's been chucking it down for days. Going out for day tomorrow with picnics made from store cupboard ingredients. Reading 100 pages of the latest blockbuster from Jane Green from library. (Reserved for 84p) sending elmail birthday cards using Jaquie Lawson website instead of stamps and real cards. Sorting drawers and chucking stuff which neither I nor anyone else will ever wear. ...Using some of the material to cover the jam pots!!! Snoozing after lunch. enjoying my "holidayathome"!!!!0
