Olliebeak - what a week you have had. Just popped on to say lots of hugs to you and your DD. Let's hope that this week is better all round.
Will be back in the morning to post my pleasures.0 -
Oh dear Ollie what a horrible time! Big hug! I feel very much for your DD too.
I'm almost sorry to post our blessings. However, mindful of all those who need hugs, here goes
1) Brunch out at posh coffee shop with DH
2) Spent afternoon reading Sunday papers and watching Grand Prix. We think it's about two years since we last did this! Needless to say, it was before we moved.
3) Rather extravagant - we lit the stove as it was pouring down all day. However, we are burning our own logs (free from our tree felling activities in Spring)
4) Spent the evening organising photographs on the computer upstairs. I do like having everything in files
5) Evening meal in together by candlelight0 -
Ollie - Phew, that lot can only get better, hope it does - very soon.
Today's pleasures:-
1. Posh visitors for lunch so lovely leg of lamb. It was a half price one though.
2. Enough lamb left over for two more meals.
3. Posh visitors brought posh biscuits. Mmmmmm.
4. The rain did a good job of watering in the lettuces I put in yesterday in the hope that we'll have some to come back to after holiday.
5. The peace at the end of a busy day.

Had a lovely weekend
1. Day off from looking after hubby cos his friend took him to watch local cricket match
2.Wandered round market and carboot sale
3. Got hair dye in pound shop
4.Son in Law cooked all weekend - bargain meat
5. friends came for coffee not ssen them in 2 years
All in all lovely weekend.Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
1. DD being "big cook", me being "little cook" this morning, roasting up some veggies with herbs she chose and picked from the garden, enough for a good few meals for her
2. Whilst the oven was on, DD making 2 scrumptious looking banana loaves. (Note to self: don't buy more than 1 banana at a time, she doesn't eat them fast enough and we end up making more and more banana cakes, lol)
3. Rising above the lack of thanks from ex after I picked him up from a station, provided him and DD with a lovely picnic, and dropped them off at the park at lunchtime
4. Using my free time to go and get properly fitted for a lovely new bra! I could only afford one, so will have to wear dark tops for a while unless i can find a cheap white one online
5. Not spending money on anything I didn't need whilst in town, bought some lovely organic eye cream that feels much nicer than a posh one I tried out in B**ts.0 -
Just a quick one as I'm just back from my weekend and really ready for bed :rolleyes2
Ollie I do hope all improves for you and yours soon, my thoughts are with you all as I know how horrible a DD's homelessness can feel. The only words of consolation I can give are that this will pass and there are better things to come..
Weekend blessings...
1. A lovely weekend at a convention with about 1000 other members of my fellowship, thoroughly spoiled on my birthday (I could say that was a heck of a party on Saturday evening, although most of them didn't know I was 'celebrating' another year older)
2. Coming home to the amazing greeting of my 2 cats, they were very vocal about me having been away but have forgiven me now, as proved by my dark grey top being smothered in white hair
3. My young neighbour mowed my lawn while I was away :T
4. Ex OH sent me a CD I've been after for a long time (it pays to stay reasonably friendly sometimes)
5. My own bed calling me, the hotel was good but nothing like being home and sinking into your own clean bedding, - and knowing you don't have to get up at silly o'clock to attend a meeting before breakfast!
Night night all, hugs to everyone and sweet dreams

Hello everybody  - thanks for your kind comments and pm's
- I didn't mean to go on so much, it just all came pouring out once I started ............
We had another sorting session yesterday afternoon -this time it was the 'glory-hole' (cupboard under the stairs). DS1 will be going to her today to use his works van for shifting what the binmen won't take. The local tip will be inundated with a mountain of broken toys/plastic/unuseable baby gear, and we didn't even get to make a start on the piles of clothes hanging around the place. No doubt that will come later in the week - pity the kids are off school as they object strongly to anything being thrown.
My os-ing this weekend involved soaking the oven shelves in bio-soap powder and getting them sparkly clean - well done to Kim&Aggie for that tip!
Totally whoopsie meal last night - two deli-curries/naan breads/samosas (defrosted from freezer) - had no intention of 'proper cooking' at 8.15 in the evening!
Hope you're all keeping up the ms-ing/os-ing and (((((HUGE HUGS))))) to all who need them.
Thanks again you're all a bunch of :A:A:A:A!
love from Ollie xxxx0 -
Olliebeak - sounds like you and your DD are having a terrible time, hope things look up soon
Hugs to everyone who is sick!

Morning all,
Hope everyone is ok. Best Wishes to Ollie who is facing enormous stress and worry and is just rolling up her sleeves and getting on with it. Well done to you. :A
Hope everything is ok with Reverbe - good to hear about your food sampling and films.

I shall leave you with this:
We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.

And also finally, leave you with this, which I read about on the Telegraph website:
