I like the idea of this thread and it might keep me on the straight and narrow!

    1. Bread is baking as I type
    2. Making own beauty products as soon as my jars finish sterilising
    3. Doing a bit more on the rug I'm making out of scrap fabric
    4. Give more things away on Freecycle
    5. Sitting in my garden this morning having an early morning cuppa before my son wakes up.

    Have a beautiful day everyone.
  • This thread is a lovely idea, it's important to count our blessings! Mine are:

    1. Neighbour has just chopped a tree down this morning and brought round all the wood for us to use on our wood burning stove in the winter (not sure what DH is going to say when he sees the state of the garage now as I asked her to just leave it in a pile in there).

    2. Enjoyed the first batch of yogurt from the Easiyo I received from Freecycle last night.

    3. Visit to midwife this morning and listened to my baby's heart beat (11 weeks to go!).

    4. Lovely sunny day for drying the washing.

    5. Just enjoyed a cup of tea with some home made chocolate fridge cake.

Good evening. My five for today are:

    1. My Dad's operation was a total success :T :T :T I wanted to cry watching him walk into the hospital in Manchester this morning - he wouldn't let me or Mum go in with him :p - and it's been a very long day but I'm truly thankful to our .......

    2. ........ Wonderful NHS :A

    3. A lovely sunny day

    4. Coming under budget for the 2nd month on the trot in the Grocery Challenge & all meals have been tasty, mostly healthy and home cooked.

    5. Going to Aldi for their 'Super Six' fruits. I got some lovely cherries, plums, peaches, a melon, a pineapple & 6 kiwi's for the sum total of £2.94 :D

I hope that you have all had good days. Olliebeak & Ampersand - Hope things are ok with you both?

SunnyGirl so glad it all went well with your Dad.:j

My pleasures today are as usual humble and thrifty.

    1. Having pressed into service a dishcloth knitted with some white cotton left over from a cardigan for DD:-

    2. I have raided the DGK's activity box and unearthed a whole ball of dishcloth cotton and started to make another one. I don't think today's button pressing child has the wit to make a dishcloth.

    3. Potted up 3 geranium cuttings taken from the three plants I bought half price a few weeks' ago. Now I have 6 plants for the price of one and a half IYSWIM.

    4. Decorated the labels for my apple chutney with my inks and stamps from card making. They look very classy.

    5. Stayed indoors, away from the pollen as hayfever rules. Pity about the summer but June and July are a No No for me.

Bella How do you make the dishcloths? I saw some dishcloth yarn last week whilst in my favourite wool shop but didn't buy it as I didn't know what size needles to use etc. I assume that they are done in stockinette or garter stitch? I'll get some if its easy as I have a yen for knitting at the moment :D

Thanks for asking about my Dad too xxx

Hope the sun was shining on you all today.
Have spent a lovely day at home with the little ones so...

    2. Going to the goat shed (not actually a goat shed - the name just stuck) and bat hunting after last nights experience

    3. Having friends and children over for lunch

    4. Making them hm soup and them loving it

    5. Watching one of my friends breastfeed very successfully

    6. Finding ds2 asleep in his dinner!

Ok more than five but like i said it's been a lovely day:j

Used to love it when mine did that!

    Mine for today....

    1. Getting all the bedding line dried and back on the beds - smells lovely.

    2. Chatting to neighbour over the fence for an hour and her passing on lots of handy newspapers for our pets.

    3. Sitting in the garden in the shade at 9.30am doing some sewing as I'd done everything I needed to do.

    4. Noticing that the people over the road had put out a couple of brewing buckets for the rubbish collection tomorrow....asked nicely and now have a very happy DH - he was about to part with cash for a couple more at the weekend.

    5. Only using a 1/3 of the small gammon joint in tonights pasta bake - but by using some of the SC stock to cook the pasta in and a dash in the cheese sauce, it tasted like a whole lot more meat.

SunnyGirl - have a go at dishcloths, they're so easy.

You need about 45 stitches on 4.5 (old no.7) needles and then it's just garter stitch until it's as big as you want it. You should get two or three dishclothes from a ball (I think my MIL used to get three) and they last for ages and eventually wash or bleach up nice and white and they last for ages.

    5. A couple of hours peace whilst everyone was out this evening.
