5. It was Prom Night around here yesterday & a beautiful stretched Lincoln Navigator was outside our house to collect a neighbour's daughter.
6. Soooooo pleased my lot had already left education before this particular 'tradition' began....but also partaking of whimiscal thoughts of how I would have loved to arrive at my prom on a Harley!

bellaquidsin wrote: »SunnyGirl - have a go at dishcloths, they're so easy.
You need about 45 stitches on 4.5 (old no.7) needles and then it's just garter stitch until it's as big as you want it. You should get two or three dishclothes from a ball (I think my MIL used to get three) and they last for ages and eventually wash or bleach up nice and white and they last for ages.
HTH
Bella.
Really if you want to be adventurous it is fun to knit the dishcloths as if you were making a sampler of stitches, but then again garter stitch is so much easier and faster!
Sunnygirl I am delighted for you and all your family about your father's successful operation, really good news!
Missed yesterday so catching up with both days today (so what's new!):
Yesterday:
1 - Free Cowshed make up bag from Red magazine.
2 - The weather, the weather, the weather...what more can I say?
3 - Good workout in the park
4 - Did I say that DD got her end of year results and it is a Distinction? I think I did not mention it but it really deserves the mention, we are so proud!
5 - DS got a Distinction in one of his college subjects too and passed the year. Great stuff. Love those kids!
Today:
1 - Went to Herbal Medicine clinic and it was good, they took my blood pressure and it is normal!
2 - Met a friend in M&S cafe in Marble Arch and we had the cream tea, great offer, sandwiches, tea and scones with jam and clotted cream for 2, £7.70 - highly recommended! It was so filling that we had it as our lunch.
3 - Free Dior make up lesson in Selfridges courtesy of Woman and Home magazine - looking very glam! I think I shall treat myself to the blue palette, it will be my birthday treat to myself (coming up in August, only a month to go!).
4 - Gave my friend a voucher I had for a small sample of Chanel mascara and she was really pleased.
5 - We booked ourselves for a hands and arms massage (free, of course!) at the Jo Malone counter of Selfridges, so am anticipating the pleasure of another Thursday evening out freebie-hunting with my friend - already agreed we would have dinner out at ASK with the 2 for 1 voucher!
6 - The weather, the weather, the weather, it makes my day every day the sun is shining (but would love some rain IN THE NIGHT OF COURSE! for my veg garden).
7 - Tiny zucchini and tomatoes on the plants in the front garden!:T
Love you and leave you, got to go and remove make-up from face and then to catch beauty sleep!
Love to all xxx
Edited to say: I got more stars! when did that happen? Wow I am a Fantastically Fervent Money Saving Super Fan! This is the best qualification I ever got, now I can sign my name as Caterina C., FFMSSF! Sounds impressive, no?:TFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Pleasures today:-
1. DH vaccing the whole house for me, he's so thorough and much more single minded about it than I am, I keep thinking of other things to do as I go.
2. Having some spare time because of the above, so looked out some nice 4ply cotton from my stash to make a summer top, so now I'm doing a blue and white baby blanket (knitted) a crochet blanket in blue and fawn for a winter warmer, knitting a dish cloth and now a crochet top, think I'd better stop there.
3. Making granary rolls in the Remoska, just one rise and they are delish.
4. Walking to the shops with DH for the weekly visit to Poundland and Home Bargains, lovely to have company when I have been going alone for so long.
5. Picking sweet peas from the garden, such heavenly perfume, not so good for the hayfever though.

Another day missed, DM is visiting and running me ragged, she says I have no stamina!
Welcome to all the new posters, it's always good to see newbies and hear their blessings :hello:
Sunnygirl I'm so happy to hear about your father's successful op :T
Caterina well done your DD and DS for their Distinctions. I remember when DS came home and said he had a D I comisserated and told him we love him no matter what...he looked down at me and said slowly, as though talking to an idiot, 'Mother, D is Distinction'...where is that hole in the ground when you need swallowing up?!:o
Recent blessings...
1. The espalier apple is laden with fruit, as is the gooseberry bush. I think the garlic is going to be a success as it's pushing up and all the bulbs look huge. Spent the afternoon tidying and everything in the garden is lovely
2. Not a very MS day as we had a little retail therapy and went out for lunch (again). However it's good to have DM here and she loves getting out to the shops, there are no chain stores or bargain shops near her so she's having a whale of a time. Tomorrow weather permitting we're going to Grafham Water, no shops but I'm sure we'll manage to find an ice cream vendor
3. A good meeting at my fellowship last night, there were two newcomers who both seemed keen to come to the next meeting. One phoned me today and we had a long chat which was very rewarding.
4. The sun has bleached my hair to the pretty fair colour it was when I was a child - strange as it's got a light brown permanent dye on it
5. Freebies in the post of 2 face flannels, some baby wipes, more Nivea moisturiser and a magazine which included some trial samples of soap, body oil, cleanser and toner...a real bonus bag so far this week
Night night n God bless, hugs to everyone who needs or just would like one

Mine for yesterday...
1. Being woken early by DD's with HM cards and HM pressies for my birthday.
2. DH handing me a lovely poem that ended in saying he'd booked the day off to spend with me.
3. DH organising a gorgeous picnic and taking me fruit picking for the morning.
4. Sitting by the river, sharing our picnic with the ducks, one brave one was eating out of my hand.
5. Strawberries and raspberries we'd picked, for pud...yum.
And for today....
1. The overcast morning - had too much sun lately so this is lovely.
2. Getting all my jobs done before 9am.
3. A day of sewing stretching ahead of me.
4. Curry this evening - Mr S's value jars at 7p a tin are fab.
5. A wine making session planned for this evening with DH, we'll pop some pod casts on and laugh our way through.
