Hi chaps! I've been helping on a school trip to London for the last couple of days so had lots of catching up to do but here are mine
1) The lovely people who loaned us their church hall for our stay. It was clean, well organised and free.
2) Getting to know the children much better. I wished we'd had a bit longer for this, really.
3) The London Eye and a river cruise followed by the Aquarium.
4) My walking boots. Despite the heat, they were by far the best thing for trekking around London
4.5) Getting back to the green and pleasant north of England. Sorry folks! London is fascinating. Even addictive. But there's such a lot of concrete
5) A meal with DH's colleague from America when I got back. The food was lovely, which is important when you have a guest, and he had an interesting life story. Work paid for the meal so we felt very lucky
Am now recovering on the sofa. Have a happy weekend everyone0 -

Hi to everyone
I haven't been online since Friday as the children have all been on constantly & I had a migraine yesterday. Thank you for all of your good wishes regarding my Dad :A He feels great now he's home & has spent 3 hours in the garden and walked to the local shops with no problems :T :j He'll be bench pressing his own weight in the next few weeks :rotfl: My five for yesterday - hard looked for as I was sick for most of it with migraine:
1. Watching 2 of the cats flopped out in the middle of the trampoline, obviously it wasn't in use at the time!
2. Enjoying doing a bit of early morning pottering in the garden.
3. I picked some lettuce for lunches sandwiches.
4. A lovely cool drink of water. We are so lucky to have clean, fresh & cold water coming straight from the tap.
5. Listening to all the neighbourhood children, and my youngest, playing out.0 -
Haven't posted for a few days as we had a brief break away so a catch-up.
1. Meandering around seaside charity shops and picking up some really good bargains.
2. Visiting farm shop and poultry-keeping centre and enjoying watching all the hens (but it really does make me frustrated that our garden just isn't big enough for a vegetable patch AND a poultry pen).
3. Lots of seaside walks and a forest picnic.
4. Returning home, laundry all drying on the line and whooppee, my automatic irrigation system has really worked on the vegetable growing areas!
5. Just picked nearly 2lbs of ripe blackcurrants for the freezer, with another gooseberry bush ready to pick (but wood pigeon has nicked the last remaining strawberries in our absence).
6. Brought the gazebo out of store just erected it and hoping it will earn its keep this hot summer.
7. Just going to pick a lettuce, and a second mini-cucumber. Feel an alfresco lunch and a nice cold drink is imminent.0 -
1) Spending an hour at the allotment (if I ever get off here and sorted )
2) A YS joint of rib beef for dinner. I've been drooling over this since I bought it
3) All my bills paid and shopping ordered for the month ahead so that for once I'm actually organised
4) MrS doing outdoor jobs that really need doing without me nagging
