    1) Changed the bed and got all the washing dried on the line, despite a blustery start here
    2) Coffee with a friend at lunchtime - a very frugal way of treating ourselves to an outing
    3) Bought a gooseberry bush at the local garden centre for £3.50 to put in between the rhubarb plants.
    4) Compliment from a neighbour on my hair! (It's usually a-la-Hugh-FW)
    5) The smell of elderflowers waiting to go in the cordial.

    4. Making a lovely pasta bake for tea.

    5. Looking forward to bedtime and a huge hug from DH.

    1. Watching wood pigeon building a nest in next door's tree in between trying to sneak down and pinch my strawberries.
    2. Planting out a third batch of kohol rabi seedlings.
    3. Finding several baby froglets hopping around in a border whilst I was weeding.
    4. Laughing at some builders who have built a front garden wall right in front of a huge camper van parked in a front garden so that it can't now get out. Trying to imagine the end result on this scenario.
    5. Looking forward to quiet evening curled up with a book.

Ohh baby froggies....I miss my pond and the little hoppits it had with it...my DD's spent hours as toddlers, picking up the baby frogs and returning them to the pond....happy memories.

As for the camper van/builders......that did make me laugh.....common sense is a lesson they'd do well to include in the cirriculum now.:rotfl:

Good evening all. My five for today are:

    1. Getting 2 loads of washing dry outside before the rain started :T

    2. Finishing a brilliant book.

    3. I'm altering a pair of black school trousers & a black jacket of DS2's for DS3 to wear in the school production of Bugsy Malone. So pleased I won't be going out and buying a suit or similar as some have done

    4. Finding out from Olliebeak (in a post above) that school uniforms are on offer in Asda. Just as I'm about to start buying them - thank you Ollie.

    5. Enjoying a tea of fish fingers, mash & beans it takes me back to my childhood :rotfl:

I hope that everyone has a pleasant evening and a good day tomorrow. (((hugs))) where they are needed xxx

    Good evening everybody,

So much for promising myself to start posting every day again, sorry for missing a few days again!

First of all, a big THANK YOU to all of you who sent wishes for my dear twins' birthday! Also, (((((((HUGS))))))) to those of you who need them.

Here are a few pleasures from the last three days:

    Tuesday:

1 - More babysitting, brought in a few more quid - and the baby was delightful as always.

2 - The baby's mum, knowing that I had to get away for 3pm sharp (see no.3 below) got home just before 3pm and had a cab waiting for me outside, which she paid, so I would not be late for:

3 - Cream tea in a posh hotel with DH, DD and DS, still extending their celebration, it was lovely, we all had fun and definitely TOO MUCH TO EAT! The food was so rich that we had to leave some chocolates - previously unheard of! But none of us could face taking any home with us!

4 - Because of cream tea, once home nobody wanted dinner so I did not have to cook and had an early night!

5 - Taking off my "posh" high heeled shoes after traipsing all over Central London with achey feet!

    Wednesday:

1 - Went to Moorfields Eye Hospital, expecting to be discharged, as this was just a precautionary check up, but told that I had a few tears (as in rips, not as in crying!) in my retina and that I needed immediate laser treatment. The pleasure, if one can call it as such, is that these were spotted straight away and did not progress into retina detachment and blindness. The risk is still there they said, but much lowered now. Thanks God for that!

2 - The laser treatment did not hurt as much as I feared and it was over quickly.

3 - DH, who works near the hospital, came to see me and calmed me down (I was really shaky after being told that I had to have laser!). It felt good to be hugged!

4 - Excellent workout in the afternoon, made me feel a lot better after the morning ordeal.

5 - All the family went to see DD's college work end of year exhibition. We are very proud of her and she was delighted that family and friends all went to celebrate her work.

6 - Back home DS asked me for help with his homework, I did what I could and he was so grateful he gave me a great big hug and kiss, completely spontaneously. What makes it even more wonderful that such expansive behaviour is so rare for him that it truly filled me with delight!

    Today:

1 - Calm day pottering about, nothing rushed, started with a long lie-in in the morning, with DD in my bed, chatting, reading and sleeping.

2 - Finding the first baby courgette in my front garden veg planter!

3 - Walk to Blackheath with DD, picked up new specs (nice!).

4 - Tea and cake with DD in Blackheath.

5 - Finding that M&S had the 2 for £10 offer again and getting two lots of everything, knowing that now I have easy-cook food for the next few days! Anticipating the profiteroles, which we will eat when all the family is here.

    Good night everybody! xxx
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

    My pleasures today:-

    1. DH did the vaccing for me today so we were able to get the whole house cleaned in one go. I'm all for retirement.:T

    2. A walk to the shops with DH, but he said his feet hurt. I think he is finding that it is harder work in my world than he thought.

    3. Buying the buttons for the white cardigan I finished knitting last night, so will soon have a new cardi.:j

    4. Strawberries and evaporated milk. Think that is an OS blast from the past as we couldn't afford cream when I was a child.

    5. Just thankful to have enough.

    Bella.
