My husband got our veg plot in full swing this year and it looks beautiful. There's tonnes of spinach to pick every day and soon courgettes and tomatoes too! I love taking a stroll to the plot every day and just admire the day to day changes...

    My pleasures for yesterday.

    1. The sun shone all day where we were.

    2. Went to the seaside in honour of DH's 65th birthday, which is actually today, but the forecast for yesterday was better.

    3. A long walk barefoot along the beech with lovely warm sand beneath my feet.

    4. Blew the budget for once and had a lovely meal in a nice restaurant.

    5. Just sitting in the sun and 'being', a real change for me, I'm usually 'doing'.

    Morning all.

Sorry not had time to post for the past few days, been really hectic.
    1. Weather has been good so I have been able to get washing all dried, ironed and away so no washing to come back to when we get back from hols (apart from what we bring back!)
    2. Managed to cut grass and do some weeding so garden also looking good.
    3. Managing to get everything done that I need to before we go away as we have visitors arriving the day we get back from hols.
    4. Baking a cake last night that I haven't done before, almost making it up as I went along. It was a sort of coffee, chocolate cake with crunchie bits in. Absolutely delicious and will definitely make it again. It made up for the new cake recipe I tried at the weekend which was OK but not up to my usual standard.
    5. Best off all, we are off on holiday today so will be back in a couple of weeks.

  • I've never posted in this bit before, what a delightful thread, mine are .

    1) Watered the veg at our allotment (DP usually does the allotment thing, I never go over there)
    2) hung out washing to dry and so far the rain has held off and there is hardly anything in the dirty washbasket.
    3) spent no money today, this makes a pleasant change.
4)Having the afternoon to do as I please is a rareity.
    5) going to work later this evening, believe it or not I quite like sitting there gossiping and watching t.v.

    Hello
Reverbe - we love fruit pastille lollies in our house and nobbly bobblys!! Mr T has had them half price for last 2 weeks, so we've scoffed a few :)
Scrummy mummy - I hear you, I've been a SAHM for last 4 years, done a few small P/t jobs like exam invigilation, the amount of folks who've asked why I'm doing it. I think they think we all sit at home watching This morning and going to coffee mornings! DS starts f/t school in September and I'm SOOOOO glad we had this time together. Mums (oh and Dads :) rock, whatever their circumstances.
    Here's my blessings.
    1. DS nursery day today so got my ironing mountain done.
    2. Having a Mummy and DS day tomorrow, we're making hobnobs, a planet, watching old 70s kids TV on Youtube, playing Kung Fu Panda and going for a stroll to the duck pond and playground apparently :)
    3. On countdown to our hols, I'm a giddy kipper.
    4. Have seen a most excellent job to apply for, having been out of the groove for a while, bit nerve racking, but nothing ventured.
    5. Happy that DS is so excited about starting school.
    6. Garden has enjoyed downpours today.
    7. Will be able to pick our very first ever home grown pots in next few days.
    Have a great day.
    xx

Hi everyone it's been a dismal day here with blanket rain all day & I've had a serious heart to heart with DS1, adopted at age 4 then thrown out by his parents at age 16 so we took him in and he is now a much valued member of our family, which has left me feeling a bit sad but I've still found some pleasures.

    1. Not too much washing so it all fitted onto the clothes airers easily

    2. Watching Desperate Housewives :o

    3. Seeing a pigeon in a tree at the back of the house this morning. I wasn't sure what I was seeing at first.

    4. Talking to my Mum who always helps me put things in perspective

    5. A library book that I didn't think I'd enjoy that much is turning out to be a great read :T

I wish everyone a pleasant evening - we are very good at looking for the little gifts in every day life it cheers my heart :A

hello again, thanks for the welcome :)
1 - my first meat box turned up today - which should last a month as long I plan properly
2- the fixture list came out (not thrifty in anyway but made me happy)
3 - taught myself how to replace a zip on a skirt

Reverbe - Fultime magazine? Does this mean you were pleased about the fixture list too? (*Wonders where her Fultime is ;) )
