4.Garden got heavy rain shower so no watering tonight.
5. Received some labels i orded for my shop and they are fab.
6. Collected an easel and some water soaker guns from a lovely Freecycler, gave DS old buggy and some paving slabs away!

Welcome RainyWednesday, love that name but it does rather suggest that you may need a site like this to cheer you up, you'll find the rain clouds soon roll away and the silver lining shows through.
1. A lovely quiet 'at home' day. DH pottered in the garden while I amused myself in the kitchen. If this is retirement - so far, so good.
2. Made a card in my new craft room, only had time for one today and would never have dragged all the stuff out on to the dining table just for one, so:j in my craft room.
3. Managed to get my washing (put out late due to washing machine repair) dry even though thunder was rumbling all around us.
4. DGK's ate and enjoyed the jelly and cold custard I made.
5. DH's retirement pressies unpacked and put away and the packing materials put away to be recycled for use on future gifts.

Hi everyone
1. Managed to plant the red sprig onion seedlings. Once I had geared myself up to face the weather, it really wasn't so bad.
2. made Cornish pasties for dinner (OH's favourite), so it was a special treat for him.
3. Had a power cut last night, and had all the candles, torch etc to hand, so we were able to enjoy the moment without the stress of trying to find everything.
4. Watched the cricket with OH before he went to work.
5. Dm has given me my grandmothers engagement ring, wearing it brings back so many happy memories, I am so grateful that she was a part of my life, and taught me so much.
Blessings be

Been absent for a bit, not sure why really, just found it difficult to get back on 'the horse' after falling off when i had a run of bad days a few weeks back. Must try harder!!!
I have been stalking you all though and am glad to read some good news on the thread, but equally sad that some of you have been feeling blue lately too. Hopefully we're all turning a corner...
My pleasures today were- A quiet day at home with my lovely children (even if they did keep me up half the night).
- Chicken Salad for lunch using LO salad and r-u-b-b-e-r chicken (two meals for 2 adults and one toddler so far, still plenty left for the next couple of days).
- Drying my washing on the line and spending time in the sunshine.
- Giving my kitchen a good clean (i didn't enjoy the cleaning but love the result
)
- Big Hugs with DH when he got home from work. It's great having a supportive partner who understands that sometimes being a SAHM isn't the 'easy option' that some people seem to think it is
Sleep well all

1. The smell of roses through the living room open windows
2. First Pimms and Lemonade of the year
3. Soaking my feet
4. Managing to make a pupil who was crying smile
5. Giving a punnet of home-grown strawberries to a neighbour
6. A foot massage from DH
7. Watching tv with DS1
8. The rain not arriving until after I'd brought the washing in.
9. Cat's diving through the catflap when the heavens opennedThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
:hello: everybody - missing in action yesterday due to comp playing up again. I feel a stretching of the pennies/plastic for a 'new-to-me' set up coming on. This one is DEFINITELY giving lots of warnings that it's about to expire permanently on me.
- good to hear your copd has improved a bit, sparrer - I do know how debilitating that can be - especially in hot weather. Quite a few of my 'tenants' have it and really struggle at this time of year. :T to the NHS! That sounds like a much appreciated day to me- well earned at this time of year too.
- welcome back, Blimus - sounds like a good trip.
- congrats to your twins on their 20th birthday, Caterina, and to you for the way you celebrated it for them. What a wonderful day you all had :j!
- hope all is now well with you and your friend, kittikins. Not nice when we argue with our nearest and dearest, but sometimes these things just happen and true friendships can take it and bounce back again.
- well done, BigMumma - those meat bargains are good - Christmas Lunch sorted already.
- another one 'getting sorted' for Christmas, Pooky. You are soooo organised - well done.
- enjoy your time with your mum, jollymummy.
- :rotfl: at the comment on retirement, bella!
- busy, busy day, dustykitten and wtg on demonstrating to your neighbour exactly how 'freecycle' works lol. Man's bike/freecycle - get it? - oh well I'll get my coat
- hope the exam went well, Patchwork.
- well done on all your hard work in the garden, ampersand - you certainly deserve to sit back, relax and enjoy the fruits of your labours.
- lucky you, Primrose - a woodpecker in your garden - what a privilege!
- I never think of using tea-lights outdoors, kittikins - sounds lovely.
- wow Reverbe - getting asked out - wonder if that was anything to do with the Estee Lauder green eyeshadowIt's years since anybody paid me that kind of attention - not even my OH. Couldn't you think of going along 'as a friendship'? Sometimes these things just happen when we aren't even looking.
- if you need any help with that jar of Nutella, you only have to ask, Mine:rolleyes:.
- welcome  Wednesday. Good work on the 'rubber chicken' and what a great sounding idea with the 'book crossing'
.
- that was some rain wasn't it, SunnyGirl - it got us too plus the thunder and lightening.
- Good Luck with the car, newlywed - hope it can be fixed at a reasonable price.
- busy lady, zarazara - at nectarines.
- what a lovely gesture from your DM, kiwi - now a family heirloom.
- well done on coping with being a SAHM, scrummymummy. It isn't easy hun, but it IS rewarding (albeit eventually, if not immediately). It came as a huge shock to me as I'd never been out of work in my life before giving birth to my eldest. I found it so hard not having other adult women to talk to.
- lol at thediving through the catflap, dustykitten.
Mine for the last couple of days are:
1. A good day spent with dgs2&3 on sunday - managed to allow No.2 to run off some steam at the local activity park.
2. OH finally finished mowing the garden while I had the kiddies out.
3. The turkey drumstick for sunday lunch was delicious and still got some left in freezer.
4. Payday came and went yesterday and I STILL haven't had to 'make a hole' in the bank balance (yet). That will change today though.
5. Had the last two slices of my HM granary bread, toasted with marmalade for breakfast today. OH was very impressed with my effort.
6. What a downpour yesterday! We got the thunder and lightening first (no signs of rain at the time) - the blessing in all that was that my communication system didn't go off. Normally we lose contact during storms - but 'something' did get hit around here - just not sure what it was yet - may learn more today.
7. Looking forward to spending the day with dgd3 (20mths) and then collecting dgd1(10) and dgs1(8) from school later in the day. I think I sense a McD tea-time treat coming on this evening for them - plus I've still got a voucher for a free coffee in there.
Hope everybody has a great day today, be kind to yourselves and ((((HUGS)))) to all who need them. love Ollie xxx0 -
So good to see you Ollie, was wondering where you were. Pleased it's no more than a temperamental comp - though that in itself can be pretty frustrating
Caterina yes Sunday was a super day and not at all wasted really...I particularly liked the '99' ice cream
Bella your craft room sounds ideal, may the orders never stop coming!
Isn't candle light romantic kiwi? In winter I like to have candles instead of the electric lights, trouble is I only have the cats and dog to snuggle up with
Reverbe, what do you mean, saying no? What a boost to be invited out, make the most of it. I agree with the others, you should go even if it's just a chat over coffee.
Monday blessings...
1. Collected the £50 carpet (end of roll) for my spare bedroom that I bought ages ago but didn't take til the room was redecorated. My good neighbour is going to lay it tomorrow.
2. Appreciating my lovely neighbours, having had tenants for neighbours for years it's refreshing to live in a 'normal' house in a 'normal' square. I particularly like to watch/hear the children playing, they make me laugh with their friendships and squabbles - the latter never last more that a few minutes before they're all best friends again
3. Found a plastic 'lid' for DM's microwave, she mentioned when we were away that she's been looking for one. It was only 50p in a charity shop and still in its sealed plastic packet so will give that to her when she comes to stay at the weekened.
4. Mr A had chestnut mushrooms for the same price as regular ones and FR eggs at £2 for 15. Mushroom omelette for tea and more of the same tonight, I love mushroom omelette! (Just as well, as it was a family size pack of mushrooms :rotfl:)
5. A fun evening with friends in my fellowship and the real pleasure of seeing an old friend come back after being away for a year :T
May life be good to you today

- wow Reverbe - getting asked out - wonder if that was anything to do with the Estee Lauder green eyeshadow
It's years since anybody paid me that kind of attention - not even my OH. Couldn't you think of going along 'as a friendship'? Sometimes these things just happen when we aren't even looking.
No Ollie the person who asked me out has never met me or seen me so couldnt have been the eyeshadow lol. There are many reasons why I am not even comfortable considering a friendship but luckily I don't have to say no now as the person who asked me has now withdrawn the offer as I didnt respond straight away with an answer. I think this is very unfair tbh.. as I quite feasibly could have gone away for the weekend or been ill.I am also suspicious now that it couldnt have been that genuine if it was withdrawn only 4 days later. There is also a lot more to it than that but I don't really want to go into it online.
Sparrer I have an OH and also I dont know a single thing about this person apart from the fact that they like river cobbler...What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0
