Can't believe there have been so few postings over the last few days so hope everyone is OK and just not had time to post rather than having nothing to post.

scrummy mummy - how nice to hear that you are helping someone else be OS and showing them how to make flapjacks, muffins and banana bread - sometimes it is so much easier to be shown something than have to figure it out yourself.
sparrer - your mum sounds as though she is absolutely full of life - good on her for still wanting to travel.
teresita - hope you get your reduction in working hours.

Mine for the last couple of days:
    1. Getting out in the garden - OK it was in between the rain - but managed to get lots of my seedlings in the garden now. Still got more to do so will maybe try later today.
    2. Having a lie in this morning and DH bringing me a cup of tea before leaving for work.
    3. Enjoying a lovely meal with some friends on Saturday and they had also invited some other freinds of theirs with children, so it was like the family meals we used to have a few years back when our children were small instead of just the 4 of us now as our children are "grown up".
    4. My boss letting me have another day off to add to my main 2 weeks holiday and as I only work part time this means that we are able to go away for nearly 3 weeks in our caravan in the summer.
    5. Managing to update my list of food in the freezer and realising that I don't need to buy anything this week and very little next week too.

reverbe - glad to see you back and hope you are feeling better now. What a fantastic time you had at the Real Food Festival. Wish I had known about it as I was in London last weekend and would have loved to have gone. Will definitely keep an eye open for any more like this.

I noticed there have been fewer posts too. Anyway, here are ours

    1) A fire. Yes, it seems wasteful but it saved putting the heating on. It's a cold day here
    2) Mills and Boon books. That surprised you didn't it? I might have a go at writing one so I'm doing my research and enjoying it.
    3) DD brought a scarf home from the charity shop because she thought it would suit me
    4) Not having to cook tonight - leftover HM curry from weekend
    5) BookClub tonight

    1. Watching all the little seedlings poking their heads up after a few days sun and seeing the healthy hostas which were spilt from old plants. :money:
    2. Being joined in the garden while I was weeding by our resident friendly frog. :D
    3. Listening to the lovely noise of my new windchime made by Dtwin1 and DH with shells we collected yesterday on the beach.
    4. Offering the girls crisps after school and being told they would rather have one of my muffins. ;)
    5. Seeing new birds on the feeders this afternoon and watching a mother thrush feed her fledglings on the hillside.

Hope you're feeling much better soon Zara. x

((((hugs)))) zarazara, Teresita, Reverbe and anybody who would like one just for the heck of it. Hope you all feel a little brighter each day

I was going to add a post on Sunday pm shopndrop but it would have followed my Sat night one and I thought peeps might think I was hogging the forum .

Reverbe I think you should start a forum telling us how you manage to find all the wonderful freebies, I just seem to get sachets of moisturiser or similar. Great for holidays but I don't go on that many!

    Monday blessings...

    1. Took DD's old boy (her dog, not her OH ;)) back this morning. He's been with me for a few days while she was at shows in Scotland, which was lovely for my little furball as they're great friends. We'll miss him but sadly there isn't really enough space in my tiny garden for two dogs

    2. A ns day, they seem to be few and far between lately so I really appreciated it

    3. Salad for lunch, fresh fruit for snacks and tuna mayo (light) on a jacket for dinner. I saw some photos of me that DGD2 took....

    4. A really good meeting at my fellowship this evening, an interesting topic with lots of food for thought (I must stop thinking about food!)

    5. Sorted out another box of odds and sods for a car boot, ever hopeful that the weather is better this coming Sunday. I'd like to meet the person who said we're going to have a long, hot summer and ask when he thinks it's going to start

Night night, God bless all and sweet dreams :)

I'm hoping this thread in not going to die for lack of postings. Maybe peeps think their pleasures are too hum-drum to post, but isn't that what this thread is all about - finding pleasure in the little things of life.

sparrer - keep posting, you don't hog this thread you are it's backbone.

I have been away for the weekend - hence no postings from me for a day or two. My pleasures during that time have been.

    1. Driving through the beautiful English countryside while the May blossom is in bloom. England is like a garden.

    2. Staying with warm and loving relatives.

    3. Having meals (all homemade) put in front of me.

    4. Seeing the sea.

    5. Coming home to my own bed.
