Five OS Pleasures in your day today
Comments
-
(((((hugs))))) to ZaraZara and to Kiwiblue and DH.
Another blessed day!
1) Driving around the beautiful countryside, smiling to myself thinking how much I love my life
2) A gorgeous pair of bull finches dancing around each other all over our garden. A Great Tit hovering around the broken window pane by our outhouse - has she a nest there?
3) Meeting up at the play area with two of my best friends and their sons. Had such a lovely chat and the boys had such a lovely play together despite the differences in their ages ranging from 2-10 yrs.
4) Watering the veg plants this evening and enjoying watching them grow some more. They may not be as big as the veg patch I saw today but they're doing just fine!
5) A nice home-made sausage and sweet pepper quiche - just saved from burning as I was too engrossed in this forum!!
6) Looking forward to having a new hair cut tomorrow - fingers crossed that it'll be as nice in real life as I'm imagining in my head!
Have a good evening.DFW Nerd 941 Proud to be dealing with my debt

Oops, I'm falling behind again, but have just caught up with all posts.
ZaraZara I do hope you are feeling brighter.
Kiwiblue nail him down.
Here are my pleasures for the last couple of days.
1. DH at home for a week's holiday.
2. Free talk at the library and a coffee and biscuit thrown in.
3. Catching up on cuddles with DGK's/
4. A shopping trip with DD, we were whoopsie hunting but it wasn't 'our day'. I did manage to get some Kofta meatballs for 42p - whatever they are, I tried one and it seemed quite nice, the rest will go with homegrown salad leaves for lunch tomorrow.
5. Bean poles in situ and all veggies doing well.

Hi everyone
Zarazara I hope that today is full of pleasures for you.
OH is feeling much better, so we went out to dinner last night in the nearest town. It involved a 40 km round trip so we drove down the beach. It was absolutely beautiful, the only lights apart from the stars and moon, and our car, was from a fishing trawler on the horizon. It was one of those very special and rare moments when you feel totally at peace. So I will count that as all five of my pleasures today, and hope that each one of you experiences that same feeling today.
Blessings be

Here are a few combined ones
1) Yesterday - favourite magazine and some chocolate in front of the fire in the evening
2) Today - taking a friend's son home from school and stopping for a chat. She has managed to grow some lovely salad leaves and tomatoes. Very inspiring
3) Seeing the potatoes sprouting on the allotment. I'm beginning to suspect that rabbits might have got some of the other stuff
4) An apple sapling that sprung up by itself on the allotment is still looking healthy and there are leaves on the stub of a shoot from an old apple root in our garden. Let's hope it keeps going
5) DD making a picnic for her bf this evening.0 -
Another busy day but I seem to have achieved little - where does the time go? (Truth is a lot of it is spent reading the posts on here
)
Tuesday blessings...
1. Taking a top back to the local 'Harrods'which just wasn't me when I tried it on, and finding something much nicer with a necklace to match
.
2. Finding a parking space at the the shops end of the car park this morning. We're very lucky here, the car park doesn't charge but it's only a matter of time til the village elders find out the rest of the world does.
3. Making a curry with a £1.27p turkey drumstick, all sorts of veg from the bottom of the fridge and left-over rice from the freezer. It will do 2 of us 2 meals each so some really good value dinners
4. DNeighbour sent me her weekly text just saying 'black' 'green' 'orange' etc so I know which bin(s) to put out for Wednesday morning. The whole square watches her so they know which collection it is...she threatens that one day she'll deliberately put out the wrong ones and see who follows :rotfl:
5. A lovely, bright and breezy day, just a tad too cold for me to do the outside jobs I'd planned so the house got vacuumed this morning and I buried my nose in a book this afternoon, with a pre-siesta cup of Earl Grey. This retirement thing is so hard
Night night, God bless and sweet dreams

6. value items at Sainsburys including cheap oranges and strawberries
7. being picked for Tescos Home Trial of Vitamin E scrub.
8. Free bowling game on pc from Pogo.

Hi all it's been uplifting to read everyone's blessings today. My five are:
1. Laughing with DH over something very silly.
2. Seeing a little blue tit on the washing line.
3. Making DD's birthday cake yesterday - a pink concoction
4. Going to the library & a book I had ordered had arrived :T
5. An hour last night to read the above book.
Blessings & a pleasant evening to everyone.0 -
Sunnygirl - glad to hear your dad is improving. It is amazing how the body can fight back - my dad had a by pass almost 4 years ago and was very ill afterwards, we thought he would not survive but thankfully he did recover well, is now in his late 70's and enjoying life to the full.
Caterina - next time I am in Greenwich, I will let you know and maybe we oculd meet up for a cup of tea, although it could be some time before I am there again as we are on holiday next month and DS will be coming home in July to see us.
scrummy-mummy - it is lovely to have found your soulmate. I am fortunate in that I found mine over 30 years ago.
kiwiblue - hope your OH has slowed down a bit and is taking things a bit easier now
zarazara - hope you are feeling that today has some pleasures for you
sparrer - I often wonder where the time goes, but it can take a while catching up on posts on here, but it is enjoyable.
1. Yesterday driving out of London and feeling quite proud of the fact that I did it. DH usually does the driving in London but I felt I really should give it a go. Driving down there is so different to driving at home - so much quieter on the roads here.
2. Meeting DS for a birthday lunch and using vouchers from here for a cheaper meal.
3. Having a catch up chat on the phone with mum and dad when we got home.
4. Managing to get all washing done before going to work this morning, now just need to get the iron out.
5. Getting some reduced raspberries in Mr A at lunchtime so will enjoy those later with some HM scones that dad made for us to come home to last night.0 -

Hi everyone
Hugs to ZaraZara and Teresita. I've not been around much as I've been on a bit of a downer. DS is starting nursery in Sept full time, much earlier than we thought as the rules have changed and I'm finding it a bit hard to come to terms with. He is very excited though, so I'm being excited for him - sigh!!
Anyhoo here's a few reasons to be cheerful.
1. visited a scrapstore for the first time yesterday bought lots of lovely stuff for a fiver and the lovely lady who runs it gave DS lots of freebies. I've started a thread with a link, if anyone wants a look.
2.got my ironing done while DS was at nursery.
3.Ordered some fab Ivor the Engine stuff to make a card for DS birthday next week.
4. Managed to get three meals out of a lovely free range chicken we treated ourselves to at the weekend.
5. Turned my pot of basil from Tesco into 6 healthy plants!
6.Gave away some books and and DS's old shoes etc on Freecycle - always gives me a buzz to pass stuff around
7. looking forward to watching The Apprentice while I make my big sis a birthday card.
8.DH has just gone to pick my lovely Mum up who is coming over for a few days while I'm working.
Have a great evening.
