    emo-thewinneris.gif Dear zarazara -
The fact that you have felt able to tell us is an old-style pleasure for today...it features in the Life chapter of caring and sharing, which is what I felt the moment I read your post.
So, given that you felt safe and comfy enough to confide in your friends here, that is an old-style pleasure which we will all count as a blessing.welcome1.gif
Your post has made me think again, marvel at and value what Martin has created here, which in turn inspired and allowed thriftlady to start this Thread.

Caterina - love the idea of 'martial window-shopping'.
Any chance of martial-finding mobile, 'unfound' since I returned from Glasgow 29/4?

    My pleasures today..
    1. Having my washing hanging on the line outside bright and early this morning meaning that it was dry by lunchtime
    2. Lunch from my freezer stockpile of naughty whoopsies (cheese scones and banana bread).
    3. Getting soaked at the park with DD (they have a splash area and DD thinks its brilliant), despite the fact we were fully clothed (all the other sensible people bring swimmers - LOL), impromptu fun is just the best :)
    4. Pot Luck (reheated frozen leftovers -name because i often forget to label the tubs) for dinner.
    5. Cuddles with DH on the sofa. 9 years together and still going strong. This feels like a major achievement as we both come from broken homes and haven't exactly had a rosy romantic history in the past. Now i understand what people mean about soulmates :smileyhea

    My first time here.

    1. All my washing dry on he line by lunchtime.
    2. Seeing my husband arrive home from work after being unemployed for 4 months.
    3. Finding dog food reduced by 10p in Asda.
    4. Watching my elderly dog play like a puppy.
    5. Realising things could be a lot worse.
  • Hi everyone
Cold and shivery day here, so I guess its warm and sunny across the world with you guys!
haven't posted for a few days as have been a bit down. OH has overdone the recovery bit ( I blame the new fishing rod) and has torn the stomach muscles that were weakened by his surgery. Its so hard seeing him in pain all the time and being unable to help.
However, enough moaning onto our pleasures

    1. Oh is feeling well enough to go back to work today.
    2. Went to stay with DD for the weekend and had fun window shopping.
    3. DS1 DIL1 and family have been staying for a few days, so good to see them.
    4. Mothers day card from DIL2 she's such a thoughtful and caring girl, I feel so blessed that all three of my kids have married such nice people.
    5. As its such a cold miserable day I can light the fire without guilt, and will sit and read for a lot of the day.
    6. Finished jersey for DGD, bright purple and blue mohair, will look great against the blonde hair and blue eyes of this so cute little one.

    Blessings be

    Jennie

(((((bighugs))))) for zarazara and thank you for letting us know how you feel today. It can't always be bright and sunny but being able to share with somebody can help. I hope it's helped you.

Welcome ElaineE to this best of forums, hope you stay around and continue to share

Oh dear Kiwi, hope your OH gets better very soon, he (and you) doesn't deserve that on top of everything else. You'll have to sit on him to stop him doing so much!

I too loved Caterina's martial window-shopping, thank you for the smile :D

    Monday blessings...

    1. Had a lovely day with DM yesterday and a reasonable trip home. Was lucky, the inevitable accident on M25 was one junction ahead of where I turn off. Phew!

    2. Went to the bank this morning, things are looking reasonable and have opened a small saver account at a fair rate considering the current financial climate. HBOS may get a lot of flak but they're always so helpful when I go in

    3. Pricked out the tomato plants into individual pots DSiL gave me. Unfortunately one of the cats decided she wanted to play at the same time so the 12 are now 10 but if they all grow it'll be more than enough for me. Had to tie up the gooseberry bush as it's already so heavy with fruit it's falling over!

    4. Made a big apple and rhubarb crumble for DD's family and some small ones for me - one for tomorrow and 3 in the freezer

    5. Went to a meeting at my fellowship this evening, always such fun and we laugh a lot, I never want to come home

Night night, God bless and sweet dreams :)

    Morning all,

Haven't caught up on all posts. Sorry to hear about SunnyGirl's dad, hope he's getting better. Also sending positive vibes for kiwiblue - so often we don't know what is pushing our bodies too far, til we do. Try to see it as a hiccup, or a warning for him to slow down a little - and snuggle up together in front of your fire. Always good to read about Reverbe's library books - what a great OS way of enjoying books old and new. And hello to everyone else and newbies.

    1. A cup of sweet tea.
    2. Hearing from someone who's received The Lady magazine free for next 4 issues - thanks to a post on MSE. I like to do these freebies for friends who aren't online, and who aren't expecting it.
    3. A plain simple meal last night.
    4. Seeing a post from ampersand on here! :D
    5. Although lots to do today, feeling relatively ok at the moment.
:) Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

shopndrop - how refreshing to read of an honest person (your son finding somebody's mobile phone and taking the trouble to return it to them). In a world which currently seems to be almost overwhelmed with people in public life who have "snouts in the trough" at the expense of taxpayers who elected them, I can only say "Thank you" to all of you who still have high standards and restore our faith in the goodness of ordinary human beings.
