    1) Gift of a book from the lovely man who employs DD in the coffee shop - he found it on a table.
    2) Did a Reverbe and found a sprig of lilac on the street, which is now in a ramekin on the kitchen table and smelling heavenly
    3) Finding the old oilcloth in a drawer and it matches the new paint in the kitchen much better than our spotty one, which can be used for something else (lining shelves, I think)
    4) Leftover day, so lunch was a baked potato that hadn't been needed the first time around, with a cheese end that had been saved for just such an emergency and the last slice of (gluten free) home made apple pie
    5) Walked into town instead of taking the car and enjoyed other people's gardens.

Sparrer - I will also drive abroad and tow a largish caravan so am used to driving an outfit that is about 38 feet long overall, so driving doesn't bother me, except when in London. Everyone seems to have such different driving habits there.
jollymummy - enjoy your time with your mum.

No time to post last night as spent the evening sitting with a friend who I had been to the dentist with for a tooth extraction. She was fine after the extraction, we even went shopping, but she took a turn for the worse last night, so I sat with her till her son came home.
    Yesterdays:

    1. Getting a phone call from DS to say his GF has got a job she went for an interview for last week. Had given up hope as she hadn't heard by the time they said they would contact her.
    2. Calling in to see mum and dad and having time to sit and chat and catch up on the week's news.
    3. All housework now complete this morning (was going to finish it last night but didn't have chance).
    4. Got the day to myself, so off shopping now to see if I can find any bargains in the supermarkets.
    5. Not needing to wash my car or water the plants as we have had so much rain overnight and it is still raining.
    6. Going to sit with friend again this afternoon as she is still feeling unwell, but her son is home this morning.

    1. The neighbour's peony in full bloom (just love those flowers) and it's been covered by a huge overgrown plant the last few years so has been hidden. It's by the entrance to our block of flats so I see it every time I come home.

    2. Being outbid on an ebay jacket that I bid to the limit of my budget - quite relieved - can now look for a cheaper one ;)

    3. Lots of friends offering to help with funeral arrangements.

    4. Finding slow cooker cake recipes on here and them turning out quite well.

    5. Getting a reduced coriander plant for 79p - budget is tight and I've wanted to try making falafels for some time ;)
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?

    2. lovely breakfast of porridge and raisens
    3. seeing my lovely friends face when giving her a bunch of lovely wild flowers, card and slow cooker for her birthday
    4. Not having to water my plants today as the rain took care of that :D
    5. Its friday!
  • TGIF!!!!

    My pleasures today are/were
    1. Playgroup with my children today
    2. Bargain (5 for £1) Muller Corner for breakfast
    3. Free Starbucks coffee (after the assistant mistakenly loaded DH's card with too much credit - which they still refunded but gave us a coffee on the house voucher).
    4. Watching a young mummy friend eat her HM lunch at playgroup, she and her family have been through a tough time lately and have HUGE debts, i've been trying to gently encourage her into OS ways and it's lovely to see her looking so proud of herself as her self confidence was at an all time low a few weeks ago. I'm teaching her how to make flapjacks, muffins and banana bread next week as her children love mine :)
    5. I'm so proud that after learning OS and MSE ways from this site that i am also passing on tips to my friends, it feels really good to share tips and swap stories that don't involve spending ££££ in the shops.

Love the 'did a Reverbe', Patchwork Quilt :D congrats on your find

mineallmine I put my rubbish out the night before because just occasionally the dustmen have caught us out by turning up at 8am and I'm blowed if I'm going to change my sleeping habits just for them!

    Friday blessings...

    1. Bought a loo seat and bathroom bin only to get home and find a circular from Homebase saying they're having a 10% day next weekend. The loo seat and bin are going back tomorrow, even with the petrol spend I'll save £3 by buying them again on sale day. Not sure if that's OS, MSE or my Jewish ancestry coming out but I'd never have had the nerve to do that before joining this site! :rotfl:

    2. While in the above I looked for a wooden planter and some trellis for my new sunshine yellow clematis. They wanted £25 for both so I stopped at the farm shop on the way home where they cost me £13 :j

    3. My daily phone call to DM brought quite a surprise, her passport had run out so she applied for a new - free - one which arrived today. She now wants to go to Croatia in September! We're also away to Sussex in June for a week, I do hope I have her get-up-and-go when I'm 87 :A

    4. The declutter continues - I advertised some bits on freecycle and have already got rid of half of them. DNeighbour and I were hoping to do a car boot sale this weekend but the weather isn't too good. Ah well, the plants are thriving on it

    5. I'd made an appointment to have my hair cut but have cancelled it as DD cut it this pm, and a brilliant job she's made of it. I feel quite lightheaded now ;)

Night night, God bless all and sweet dreams :)

These are ours for the last few days

    1) 'Family' evening on Friday, including DD's bf and DS's friend (the one we're going to adopt). Free range chicken and chips, then chocolates and Scrabble in front of the woodburner.
    2) Home made curries on Saturday - no meat except for the chicken stock from Friday. Then watched Twilight together
    3) OH has just informed me that he is using some of our salvaged firewood to patch up the landing floor. How OS is that?
    4) Being told that the neighbours (whose skip the wood came from) are saving every twig and offcut for their own stove, inspired by me
    5) Going and asking for a piece of another neighbour's blossoming tree to take into Sunday School and having a lovely chat over the garden wall
