    This week-end:
Major clear- out of our garage which took two days, to rid ourselves of a mouse infestation. Unfortunately had to destroy a mouse nest containing six babies which was upsetting, but they had raided the giant sack in which we store peanuts for the birds and secreted piles on just about every garage shelf and every container we had! Two car boot loads of junk cleared out - amazing how many dried up half-tins of paint, putty, grout, and goodness knows what else my dear OH was hoarding "in case in came in useful for another time". Discovered 5 containers of liquid fertiliser. 3 half bottles of Tomorite, 3 packs of slug killers and four containers of anti-ant powder". Obviously we've been buying because what we had was tucked away out of sight in the chaos. Now we're all nicely organised - until the next time!

Here are mine for the weekend:

    1) finally getting back into my leathers instead of buying new ones!
    2) going through the wardrobe and removing items I'll either never wear again or just don't fit me. They will be charity-shopped tomorrow
    3) Planning. Doing the wedding planning so it is more a case of help out with the wedding as a present instead of vouchers has made us both feel really happy.
    4) Giving various recipes to my soon-to-be Sister in Law so she can make things from scratch. :)
    5) Making a start on Old-Style (i.e. handmade ;) ) Christmas presents

    1) A really good presentation in church, which I am pinching for Sunday School next week (fruits of the Spirit - with edibles)
    2) HM chicken soup for lunch from last week's bird
    3) Finally clearing the landing of paint pots, tools etc. We're just poised for the big de-clutter, which will happen when all the exams are out of the way
    4) DS brought lovely friend home for tea and has walked her home
    5) Chocolates and a film this evening with whoever happens to be in

    Have a good week chaps!

    Evening all,

Hope you all had a lovely weekend with this glorious weather, my pleasures this weekend were:
    1. Playgroup on Friday, £1, an absolute steal for 2 hours of entertainment for the kiddiwinkles, biscuits and a cup of tea. Even better, cos we're regulars, we're getting heavily discounted tickets to Legoland next month!!
    2. Finding a footpath that runs from near my house, to Egham, that will save taking the car to playgroups.
    3. There was a food fair in Egham this weekend (that we walked to), we didn't arrive in time to sample all the wares, but DD's winning smile meant that a stall-holder donated her reamining cakes (a weeks worth for us) to us for free :)
    4. Playing in the park in the sunshine on the way home
    5. Going to our local aquatic centre today and spending an hour looking at all the fishes, turtles, lizards, snakes and frogs. And then playing outside in their fountain displays, DD loved it.
    6. Playing in the garden with DD, DS and DH this afternoon.
    7. Whoopsied Lamb Shanks for dinner with loads of veg, DD scoffed hers down and helped herself to mine, hopefully her lovely full belly will help her sleep well ;)
Looking forward to the lovely weather this week and hoping to make a trip to the park tomorrow now that the toddler area is finally open again after being closed for winter!!

    Have a great week

Here we go for the last day or so.

    1. A drive through beautiful leafy Warwickshire.

    2. DGD looking so cute in the bolero I've just knitted her.

    3. A meeting with people who share my faith.

    4. Being given a sackful of knitting yarn (mostly recycled wool) by a lovely 91 year old lady who doesn't knit very much now as the garden keeps her busy.

    5. A nice quiet afternoon getting lots of knitting done.

    Bella.

Not been around much over the weekend as down in London staying with DS but have got quite a few pleasures:
    1. The biggest one for me was travelling into the West End on my own today. I tend to get a bit panicky when I am not confident in my surroundings and was petrified of getting lost/getting on wrong tube, but managed fine and got back to DS house by mid afternoon.
    2. Stopped off at Mr A on the way home and the fruit and veg was just getting reduced, so have some cheap stuff for a birthday BBQ for DS tonight.
    3. Went for a drive yesterday down to the south coast, took our picnic sandwiches and flask and had a really good old fashioned family day.
    4. When out for a walk on Saturday afternoon at the local park, son found an expensive mobile phone. He called the number under "home" and the gent said it was his wife's and he would meet us in Greenwich to pick it up. When he arrived he was so relieved that someone honest had found it, he brought along some wine so a nice treat for us too.
    5. Got an e mail today saying that work owes me some hours, so will take them when for the weather is forecast to be good.

Good evening. How lovely to read all our pleasures and as Sparrer says how lucky we all are living in such a good country.

My five for today & some for yesterday are:

    1. Seeing my friend today for the first time in a fortnight - we had a lovely catch up and chat.

    2. Saw my Dad who is continuing to feel a bit stronger every day.

    3. Getting my Flylady list of jobs done today.

    4. The beautiful sunny weather today.

    5. All the washing is dry due to the above weather & smells beautiful.

I hope that everyone has a good evening & ((hugs)) where they are needed xx

    Hi all

Sunnygirl I am glad to hear of your dad's recovery - my mum had a bypass following a heart attack 8 or 9 years ago, it went quite badly and she was touch-and-go for quite a while but fortunately she recovered well and is now ok (of course she is in her late 70s and has to be careful, but has a good independent life). It is amazing the power of recovery that the body has! I hope your dad gets back on his feet nice and soon.

Well done Kaz665 on completing the Race for Life!

Shopndrop if I had known you were in Greenwich over the weekend we could have met and had a nice cup of tea together (this makes me think: time to arrange another SE London OS meet soon!).

My pleasures and blessings for the last couple of days in no particular order:

1 - Amazing fun at the Real Food Festival with DH

2 - Special offer of Asparagus and Jersey Royals in Waitrose, made for a very posh dinner on not so posh money!

3 - All the freebies that Grazia magazine is offering for the Selfridges 100 year celebration - a good reason to put my gladrags on and get out of the house every Thursday night, while DH does his martial arts (and I do my martial window-shopping and freebie-hunting!).

4 - A lovely osteopathic treatment offered by a very kind person for free.

5 - Still getting booked for a few more doula sessions with my client.

6 - One more Italian class with the young neighbour. It is fun to teach him, we laugh a lot, he learns Italian and I am getting paid for it. Great!

7 - The veg in the garden are really starting showing now!

8 - A friend gave me two zucchini (courgette) plants, they are doing fine - when my cats are not lying on top of them!

9 - I overcooked the 2lbs of beans that were earmarked for baked beans, thought they were GONERS but I managed to salvage more than 1/2, ok they will be a bit burned-tasting, but it will be a "barbecue flavour"!

Off to cook now, love to all

    Caterina
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
