Mine for the last couple of days.
    1. Going to the dentist with my friend and her not having her tooth out (she still has an infection) so we went out for lunch anyway. Had a really nice "girly" day.
    2. Remembering to return my library books on time, so no fine.
    3. Spending the afternoon baking to take HM things to DS tomorrow.
    4. All bathed and ready for bed, car loaded as we are hoping to leave home at 6 tomorrow morning so that we are down in London by 11 and have most of the day left to spend with DS.
    5. Tea tonight was a pasta bake using up lots of bits of veg and a couple of rashers of bacon and it was so tasty. Really like it when I use food up that at one time I would have thrown away if we were going to be away for the weekend.

Good evening everyone. Not posted since Tuesday as my Dad's angioplasty went quite wrong for him. The doctor put one stent in one coronary artery that had been unblocked & all was fine. When they went into another artery to do the same the catheter that was being used cut into the artery and caused a bleed. There was apparently panic stations & another stent was put over the cut section. To help close the artery they pushed very hard on my poor Dad's chest & ribs so he's black & blue. He was put onto 24 hour monitoring and 4 hourly echo cardiograms to check the healing.

He is ok now but still very tired, bruised & shocked. We all are but we're also hopeful of a good recovery once all the healing etc has taken place. He also found out that when he was admitted to hospital in York in April he had actually had a heart attack and wasn't told  He is an intelligent man so wouldn't have missed what was being said. Oh well he's ok and thats the most important thing.

So ............... my one & only blessing for the last few days is that he's ok and Mum & I can still enjoy his company & presence and his grandchildren will still benefit from his tremendous wit, wisdom & unique problem solving abilities :A

Blessings to everyone this weekend xxxxx

just a quick one as I'm drooping tonight. (((((hugs))))SunnyGirl and praying for a good recovery for your Dad.

Ollie have a lovely holiday, get lots of rest and give FW my love - I have a friend who lives nearby who I keep promising to visit but something always come up. I hope the midgies don't getcha! Re bringing money home I always take too much anyway 'just in case' and was lucky this time.

Caterina I do understand what you mean about the cats, my two and the dog always give me so much pleasure with their unconditional love :A

    Friday blessings...

    1. Sold my pc for more than I hoped, at the full asking price. Now I can get the laptops and router set up, and buy some more memory.

    2. Took the moussaka to DD, she phoned later to say how much they all enjoyed it. She seldom makes it as she's not keen so looks as though I've got another dish to add to my family baking . Lovely to see DGD1, who was just in for lunch. Also their parrot was very affectionate today, let me stroke his head without raising it suddenly to peck me as he usually does, the little blighter :p

    3. Managed to drive past the farm shop both ways without stopping! Usually it's like a magnet with it's excellent garden dept. However on the way to the glass bank I had to go up the High Street and had forgotten it's Farmers Market today. A yellow lantern-shaped clematis and several cape daisies somehow found their way home with me. The daisies were three for the price of two though, so a deal I couldn't say no to :o

    4. Jack Dee Live at the Apollo. I'm not usually keen on Joan Rivers but she was really funny this evening.

    5. My DB has accepted all my antique crystal glasses, I'm so pleased as DD and DS didn't want them and they'll not have to go out of the family now. There are 6 sets of 6 and a carafe which I know he'll put to good use - no good to me now, and it makes for less clutter on the dresser.

Have a good weekend all, hope the weather is kind to everyone on holiday, gardening or whatever you have planned

Night night, God bless and sweet dreams :)

Sunnygirl - sorry to hear your dad had such a rough time but hope that he is well on the road to recovery now.

    Yesterdays pleasures:-

    1. A lovely breezy sunny morning meant that I dried two loads of washing before the first heavy shower arrived.

    2. Grabbing the washing off the line just BEFORE the rain came instead of just after which is usually the case.

    3. Getting all cleaning jobs and chores done ready for the weekend.

    4. Packing all card making stuff away. A dubious pleasure this as now that DH is about to retire I am loosing my outlet through his office. I will still make cards now and again for my own use but that wont amount to many. At least it will give me more time for knitting, sewing and gardening.

    5. Knitting a white summery cardi for ME which I will need very soon.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

    Bella.

    Here's my pleasures from yesterday:

    1) A day trip with DS2 to a wildlife park. Lots of showers in the morning but had rain macs with us so played and looked around anyway.
    2) Watching the most amazing 'dance' by a peacock - feathers up and vibrating, waggling bottom etc - an amazing sight, not that the nearby hens were impressed though!
    3) It was a group meet-up so my son got to play with his friends while I got to natter with mine.
    4) Saw some cute Quails so when we got home I started to google lots of information about possibly buying a pair.
    5) A sunny evening so time to do a bit of pottering in the garden. Didn't start to get dark till about 8.45pm last night.
    6) Made a delish chocolate and beetroot cake for a Scouts 'do' today.

Wishing you all many pleasures and blessings for the weekend.
Olliebeak - have a great holiday!
SunnyGirl - wishing your dad a speedy recovery.

    Another lovely day today:
    1) DS1's cub pack had a family hike from their HQ to the beach and Pier and back.
    2) The cubs finding crabs and even little fishes in the small pools on the beach.
    3) Hearing 8-10 year olds chatting as they hiked.
    4) Getting back and having a lovely bbq with the cubs, their siblings and parents and the cub leaders.
    5) Making a play date for Monday where me, DH and DS2 have also been invited for tea and a chat.

Looking forward to another great day tomorrow.

    1. Going to Manchester with DS3 for a walk around looking at the sculptures & architecture. We had lunch sat outside in the sunshine.

    4. A nice bath & jammies on early ready to watch NCIS & CSI: New York tonight with DH, DD & DS3.

    5. My Dad is doing much better today :T I didn't go to see him as some friends came up to see him & Mum too.

    Blessings aplenty to everyone.

Lots of lovely pleasures to read on here today, I really enjoy hearing how everybody is doing :)

    Saturday blessings...

    1. A bit of a lay in this morning til the dog and cats decided it was time to explore outside

    2. Young rhubarb in the farm shop so I bought plenty to make yummy crumbles, some to give and some to freeze. They have a local lady who bakes so bought a huge bloomer as well, one end of which didn't survive the trip home :o

    3. DNeighbour and I popped into the local Furniture Link but I couldn't find anything to spend my money on, not even a book (of which they usually have lots I haven't read). I was really looking for a new dining suite as I gave my big one to DS but they didn't have anything suitable today...will just have to keep looking

    4. Made a delicious stir fry for my tea, it cost pennies compared to buying the pre-packed ones in the shops. I added a lonely piece of salmon which had been in the freezer for a couple of months, which I baked with olive spread, black pepper and the last of the cream from the moussaka. Even us oldies can dine like kings for next to nothing :D

    5. Re all the above, counting my blessings when I see on the news the hell some people have live with in other countries. We may not think we have much sometimes, but compared to some it's riches beyond their dreams, and I'm so thankful I live in England.

Night night, God bless and sweet dreams :)
