Five OS Pleasures in your day today

Hi chaps! Nice to see so many posts. Once is an awesome film, isn't it Reverbe? And am I allowed to ask for the recipe for mint and apple chutney please Bella?
That reminds me of one of my OS blessings today
1) Finding my jam labels almost a year after we moved. It was going to cost about £10 to get some more from Lakeland by post!
2) Going shopping early and finding lots of parking spaces
3) An offer of some tomato plants from a neighbour. I wish I could have them but we don't have a greenhouse. Got a tour of an immaculate garden instead. It's got everything - greenhouse, fruit trees, stream and vegetable patch
4) Freecycling a bit of furniture. I didn't want to let go but we've got more room
5) Tiny weeny bit of sunshine today so I squidged around our garden0 -
Bella - I'm another one who'd love the recipe for Apple & Mint chutney please? My neighbour gives me loads of windfall apples in the autumn so it'd be a good one to have.
My five for today are:
1. Chating with the four children at tea time as they were all in for once.
2. Doing menu plans and shopping lists for the next three weeks.
3. Watching a cat in the garden trying to catch a fly.
4. Starting the second book in the triology that I'm reading at the moment.
5. DS2 went on a Geography fieldtrip yesterday to the Peak District and made some twine/rope that he was given to bring home. He didn't know what to do with it so I suggested gluing it round a plant pot for the garden. It should look attractive and will brighten up a cheap, plain pot.
Blessings & a good evening to everyone :A0 -
Todays pleasures...
- Drying my bedlinen on the washing line.
- A sunny day!!!!
- Lunch with DD in McD's, we were both in a very cheery mood.
- DH coming home from work to help with the children. Today has been a l-o-n-g day!!!
- Knowing i am getting my car back from the bodyshop this weekend. It was in for repair after a drunken cyclist, pedaled piddled into it in January. Not very OS for him though as my insurer is now pursuing him for the rather large bill...

For some reason the sparrer seems to have lost some of her chirp today, don't know why as I have much to be thankful for, and look forward to. Silly ol' bird . Your posts have all cheered me up, thank you
Wednesday blessings...
1. A third ns day! It does help not going outand I have plenty of everything in to last til the weekend
2. Sat in the garden with a book for most of the day, it was blowy but warm and I was in a nice sheltered spot near the house
3. DGD2 phoned and asked if she could come for the weekend...of course she can. She then mentioned it's half term next week so 'I don't actually have to go home on Sunday evening..' we'll see. Luckily I've planned to do a car boot if it's a nice day, she enjoys helping me earn some pennies. She also enjoys the ice cream van, the hot dog stall and the sharing of the profits (such as are left) when we get home :rotfl:
4. A bit of a panic this evening, made my daily call to DM but there was no reply. Tried again ten minutes later and still no answer, very unusual  . I was on the point of phoning my brother, who lives 20 mins from her, but decided to go to my meeting and try from there. Fortunately this time she answered, the fire alarm in the supported housing scheme where she lives had sounded so naturally everyone had to evacuate. Apparently the ladies were all of a twitter at having the firemen assist them to the assembly point - I remember just how excited they get from my own days as a manager in sheltered housing! Luckily it was a false alarm but they'll be able to chatter away about it for the nexct few days
5. Feeling very cheered up and much more chirpy now I've shared my daily blessings - may not all be money saving as such but priceless to be able to do so :j0 -

Had quite a stressful day today as DS1 was very upset about his games console not working and DH spent all of his spare time today trying to find ways to make it work. Lots of gnashing of teeth and wailing throughout the house all because of an x-box!!
Anyway here's mine for today:
1) Blessed that it's not a usual occurence for there to be so many negative emotions buzzing around the house as there was today!
2) DS2 was so excited about the news of 'Ida' the 47 million yr old missing link fossil. He loved that the fossil was on the Google homepage and that there was a wall chart of it in todays paper. Bless him - he's only 5.
3) A lovely sunny day so got two lots of washing dry on the line.
4) Cleaned out the chickens. There was as much squawking outside as there was inside our house today!
5) Made banana and mars bar muffins - an OS MSE recipe. Yum.DFW Nerd 941 Proud to be dealing with my debt

My five for today are:
1. Going into our local town with my friend and finding a much loved craft shop hadn't closed but just moved locations.
2. A hot bath and jammies on at 7pm tonight.
3. Chatting to 2 neighbours.
4. Weeding part of the raised bed in the back garden.
5. The sun this afternoon after lashing rain all morning
A pleasant evening to everyone & I hope that your days have had blessings in them.0 -
Bella - another one here who would love the apple and mint chutney recipe.
Mine for today.
1. Finally deciding to go out about 9.30 and on getting to M&S seeing that the queue for the penny bazaar wasn't too big. Decided to join it and got my 5 after only queuing for about 10 mins.
2. Getting a £10 meal deal, including the chicken (managed to find a largish one) and splitting this with mum and dad.
3. The sun finally coming out this afternoon after torrential rain this morning.
4. Helping dad remove some of the weeds in his garden.
5. Going for a walk with DH after tea this evening. It was such a lovely clear evening.
6. Bathed and ready for bed, so will be in bed before 10.30.0 -
Seems there's lots of gardening going on today, thanks to the fine weather. Only one shower and the forecast for the weekend is good here, hope it is for everyone.
Thursday blessings...
1. Postie brought me a key ring and trolley coin with a sweet little black cat picture, thanks to the freebie forum
2. She also brought me confirmation of our holiday in Sussex but it said first floor apt when I'd requested ground floor. Phoned them and pointed out DM's age, they were lovely and changed it straight away. They also said that although gf is fractionally more expensive than ff they won't charge us. So I should think!
3. Postie also brought me 4 more tickets for the Renault World Series day, I'd only applied for 4 but they've obviously got mixed up.
4. Put my new planter and trellis outside the front porch, firmly nailed into place, complete with yellow clematis and some sunny yellow daisies. The neighbours told me when I moved here I was taking a chance with pots as the front gardens are open plan, but after 5 years they're all still there...and as they're rather large I wouldn't want to be the one who has to lift them onto the back of a lorry
5. Watching Chelsea on the television, we used to go but not much fun to do things like that on my own these days. However, it's given me some ideas...I just wonder if the neighbours would like to let me have a bit of their gardens as I'm just about out of space!
Night night, God bless all and sweet dreams
