Thank you bella and shopndrop, feeling much better now. Like you if I don't go out I feel very down in the doldrums and have to make myself move, which I did yesterday.
Friday blessings...
1. A silly one - bought a loo seat last week then discovered Homebase has a 10% weekend this weekend. Took the loo seat back for a refund, and went back again for it yesterday. It's been reduced from £19.99 to £9.99, plus I had a £1 voucher, plus the 10% off, new price £7.99, saving £12 - oh and double nectar points! :j
2. Went to Mr A and everything I wanted seemed to be on offer. A £23 shop and saving of £6.17 :j
3. A shower in the afternoon so I didn't have to water the garden :j
4. Postie brought a free sample of dog food and a pen...I have about 60 of various colours already but never mind, one day I'll be able to open a pen shop! :j
5. DGD2 is visiting for the weekend, always an enormous pleasure :j
Have a good weekend everyone, hope the sun smiles for you

Thank you very much Bella for the chutney recipe and I am glad you recovered your chirp Sparrer
Mine for the last few days are
1) Two unexpected offers of coffee and a chat yesterday.
2) Sorted out the living room cupboard. Sent lots of stuff to the charity shop and all the other stuff that was under bits of furniture because no-one knew what to do with it has gone into the cupboard
3) Clean house yesterday evening. It's still neither safe nor really tidy due to the continuing refurbishment work but we're getting there
4) Friends from DH's work round for supper and they brought us some home made wine. We did feel honoured. Also know where our empties are going now, rather than being recycled. They are producing twice as much next year!
5) Prospect of a lazy day. A magazine has come through the post so that's for this afternoon
Have a lovely weekend, everyone0 -
I've had a lovely couple of days:
Friday:
1) My sister out of hospital and feeling much better.
2) Blood donation
3) Watching '1066' on C4 with DS1 & DH. It was great, really enjoyable and far better at teaching that period of history than me droning on!
4) Hm mackerel fishcakes with salad leaves from the garden.
5) Not very ms but I bought some gorgeous soft leather shoes from Next ( I always buy cheap shoes but they are not cost effective in the long run).
Today:
1) Dropped DS1 off at his first scout camp at Sandringham. It looked very exciting and he was only slightly nervous for a few minutes (for much less time than me, DH & DS2).
2) Decided to take a trip into nearby Kings Lynn and found some great charity shop buys (to distract us from missing DS1 of course)
3) DH and I hand-washed the car and all the outside windows.
4) Lovely sunny day.
5) DH 'mended' DS1s Xbox (by finding a switch that he had inadvertantly switched off - oops!)
6) DS2 snuggled up on DH's lap watching Primeval and trying not to miss his big brother.
Have a great bank holiday weekend everyone :beer:DFW Nerd 941 Proud to be dealing with my debt

Hi Everyone
hope you're enjoying your weekend.
Here are my blessings for last couple of days.
1. DS was poorly yesterday and I still have a dodgy knee so we stayed snuggled on the sofa and watched some telly together.
2. Due to my knee injury I've decided once and for all to get some flippin weight off, quite liberating!!
3. Bought all my fruit for the week from a lovely local greengrocers, all lovely stuff and so cheap, eg 2 punnets of baby plum toms for a pound - they are scrummy.
4. Going to spend this evening making tags and cards from some fab fabric I bought from scrapstore for 75P!!
5. Spent a lovely hour in the garden potting up my courgettes and toms for the greenhouse - Summer must be on it's way!!
6. DS and I received a HUGE box of beads and jewellery making stuff from my fabulous friend in Anglesey. So much to craft, so little time -lol. At least it should keep me out of the biscuit tin!
7. Had a chat with neighbour about how nice our village school is, only 60 children spread over 5 years, put my mind at rest a bit more. Especially as our boys will be in the same class.

PS I received a voucher from Tesco the other day to get one adult free ticket for various places. If anyone would like it, PM me. We're saving our points up for Drayton Manor and of course this voucher can't be used there - doh!!

My pleasures today
- Hanging TWO loads of washing on the line to dry
- Getting my car back from the bodyshop and discovering that they had fixed the wing mirror that DH had cracked, for free.
- 'Playing' at watering our strawberry plants with DD and getting soaked in the process, we both found it absolutely hilarious much to DS and DH's amusement.
- Time with my family, just larking about, enjoying the sunshine, eating lunch in the garden together and knowing that we will all sleep well tonight.
- Virtual house shopping, i have seen a house that is to DIE for and DH adores it too (despite the fact it has an aga and roll top bath which he normally finds too 'old fashioned') and working out that if we continue on our current MS/OS economy drive (which DH previously teased me about as my little hobby) that we could actually afford it. It will make a beautiful family home and best of all has room to grow into
Hugs to all

Feel the need to list blessings indeed:
1. DD out of hospital today after an op yesterday
2. Her lovely caring partner being there to look after her
3. I'm flying up to see her next week - lucky to have the opportunity to do this
4. lovely walk with dogs and DH at the marsh trail today then a walk by the river
5. Cuddles from DH
Off to bed now as I feel a bit tired.
Hope you all have peaceful dreams

The best laid plans...., then a phone call from DD so my day was altered somewhat but turned out really well.
1. Making a fish pie to go in the Remoska on the timer ready for when we returned from shopping mid-day.
2. £10 off £30 shop at Mr. T :T but I don't like the shop and won't be going there regularly.
3. Fish pie and assorted homegrown salad leaves was lovely.
4. Meeting DD and her lovely family for a picnic and having the soup and roll we had planned for lunchtime.
5. All the vegetables prepared for tomorrow - there will be 8 to dinner.
Bella.A man's life consisteth not in the abundance of things which he possesseth. Luke 12 v 150 -
jollymummy the tomatoes wouldn't last long in my home, I love the little ones and keep them next to the fruit bowl
I remember the feeling of 'loss' so well Blimus, when my DD1 went to her first Brownie camp I was like a lost soul. She came back full of excitement, hair-raising stories and bags full of dirty laundry, and normality was restored...
Saturday blessings...
1. While DGD2 was playing with my neighbour's DD this morning the fishmongers van came round, he had rainbow trout on special offer at £1 each...
2. ...when we searched the fridge and freezer for casserole vegetables we discovered 2 trout, her favourite fish, and 2 frozen jam and cream doughnuts. I'm sure they weren't there last time I looked. We had the trout for dinner, the doughnuts for pud and planned the casserole for another day
3. Postie brought me 5 packets of veggie seeds, I think I'll need an allotment before long
4. The car is all packed up ready for tomorrow's car boot sale, my first of the year as most Sundays have been too cold or wet. We've found one nearby that starts at a very civilised 10am, some local ones open 6am and I really don't do mornings!
5. DGD2, DNeighbour, her DD and I had a lovely evening, one of the car boot items is an old cd which the girls decided to play, and spent two hilarious hours singing along to music from Grease, Dirty Dancing and other musicals of that ilk. I didn't realise how many words of how many songs I knew...no matter how DS and DD tease me about forgetting the DGC's names the old memory's still holding up :rotfl:
Night night, God bless all and sweet dreams
