Five OS Pleasures in your day today
Comments
-
Good morning, everyone
Here are mine for the day:
1. Planning my hen day to be a relatively OS type thing
2. Buying a new airer and discovering the woollens are taking a lot less time to dry on this one than the old one - no more running the dehumidifier for yonks!
3. Waking up feeling refreshed and ready to do a day of window cleaning (apart from the headache which won't go...)
4. Spending some quality time with my best friend, whom I hadn't seen for aaaaages.
5. Planning to walk to Mr Ts later to get stuff for tea. I can't decide whether to do low fat lamb tikka kebabs or a Thai Prawn Curry ... mmm, anticipation!
Have a good day everyone

Hi everybody :hello: - in a bit of a rush this morning, so will have to catch up on all your postings later in the day. Spot of childminding scheduled for today - I'm taking Nathan (he of the 'dodgey goofy teef') and Katie (cow's milk allergy) out for the day - so lunchtime is going to be a barrel of laughs
, slop for him and milk/lactose free for her :rotfl:.
Evening meal is already done - cottage pie. Cooling down now and soon ready to go in the fridge to re-heat later :j.
OH complained he didn't get fed yesterday as we had surprise visitors (DS1 plus g/f plus her son) who wanted to do some car-washing at tea-time! I fed them with barmcakes, salad, pickles with fruit and yoghourt for dessert. Not sure how to stop DS1 from doing this at weekends - I'm on a water meter for goodness sake !
OH was expecting savoury mince, mash and veg - so did a major sulk - awwww diddums - hence the cottage pie for tonight !
Hope the sun is shining for everybody and that you all have a beautiful OS day - speak again later
ps sparrer - I'm saving some stories for my retirement fund! If James Herriott could write about working with animals, then I can write about my gang. Names will be changed to protect the guilty :rotfl:!

Olliebeak Love the idea of writing & changing names to protect the guilty
Kiwi So pleased to hear your DH is improving so well.
((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))) to anyone who needs them. My five for yesterday are
1. Watching the boys have a waterfight in the back garden.
2. Getting the washing off the line before the aboveIt smelt beautiful.
3. Getting up a little later than usual having read my book.
4. Having a cuddle with DH on the sofa watching True Lies on tv last night
5. DH being jubilant that our local team (Bury) had won 3-0 yesterday - a highly unusual thing apparently :rotfl:
I hope that everyone is having a good weekend with blessings to be found in the little things in life.0 -
Hiya everyone
Hope the weather is still as gloroius where you are as it is here. Im struggling to come on here daily at the mo as although I have recovered from my illnes ds now has a bug - so been lookin after my poorly boy so only glanced at your posts - We have renamed our home the Sick House - Its no wonder no-one ever pays us a visit!
Anyway my 6 for the past few days have been;
1) Wonderful sunny weather - Managed to get 2 washes dried outside yesterday & 2 on the line today so have got rid of the washing pile. :j
2) Doing a bit of weeding in the garden & feeding the dandelions to my grateful bunnies Daisy & Primrose.
3) Getting a bit of ironing done & proudly ironing my dh & ds EFC shirts ready for today :footie: - (Dh has gone to Wembley today & ds is lying on the couch like a limp lettuce but wearing his kit with pride.) :footie:
4) Hanging a large EFC flag out of our bedroom window - It was comical me hanging out one side of the bay window & dh hanging out the other side trying to pass the flag along with a window pole :rotfl:The end result is good though & it cheered my ds up for a bit.
5) Hearing the odd Boo or beep of a car as it passes our house - Its all in good spirit so either way it brings a smile to my face.
6) The very fact that the football team I have loved since I was a child have managed to get to a semi final at Wembley is a blessing in itself - I am beside myself with excitement (as you can probably tell) - Win or lose Im as proud as punch - C'mon the Blues :T
Im off again for nursing duty - Im hoping ds will have a little nap around 4pm when the match kicks off
Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekends xx0 -

Wow! What beautiful weather we've had today
Mine started with
1) Five charming children in Sunday School all peacefully colouring in butterflies (the rest are on the Church weekend)
2) Company of DS, who helped in the garden all day
3) Three baskets of logs from the Virginia Creeper and the same of kindling. DH insisted that he should take it down and I think the house does look a little better
4) The robin that followed us around all afternoon, picking up the bugs from the fallen twigs
5) Hearing bathtime in the house next door. We don't listen as such, but the squeaks and giggles floating out of the bathroom window are wonderful0 -
Evening All,
1. getting rid of old broken washing machine ( been waiting a while for scrap man to come)
2. home made banana bread yummy
3. full english breakfast ( bad for you but you have got to have some treats)
4. sneaking out for a 50 mile ride on my motorbike in the sun.
5. reading Sunday paper sat in the garden in the sunshine.
take care
Cheers Steve0 -
Hi again
2 postings in one day - Im doing well today.
So nice to read that many of you have been enjoying the lovely weather today - Its been like a summers day here on merseyside.
My 1 and only pleasure for today has to be watching my football team win the semi final game at Wembley and going through to the final - There were moments throughout the game that weren't pleasurable but the end result was & that's what counts - Ive only just stopped shaking with excitement & I have a very sore throat through all my shouting & screaming but I couldn't be happier. God bless Everton Football Club your in my heart & my soul and I couldn't be happier today. :j :footie: :T
Hoping your blessings are plentiful & hugs to anyone who may need them x0 -
Hello all!
I am sorry, I have been away over the Easter holidays and then very busy from loads of things to do and haven't been online much.
There are so many posts that I have missed that there is no point in me attempting to read them all before posting this one, so I shall go back and read them a little at a time, every day, until I have caught up. Meanwhile please bear with me if I haven't yet picked up on people's lives and events.
So many blessings during these last few days, where to start? Here is a list, at random, from the beginning of the Easter holidays to today:
1 - A wonderful holiday with DH in the Isle of Wight, restful and gentle.
2 - Buying a book that really inspired me to treat myself well, called 101 things to do before you diet - not terribly OS but very encouraging for self-acceptance.
3 - Coming back to a (relatively) tidy house after leaving the teenager alone for 6 days.
4 - Finding a lot of the veg have started growing in the front garden and some nearly ready to eat in the back.
5 - Dinner with a friend the other night.
6 - A friend bringing me some lemon balm plants and two small red berry bushes.
7 - Another friend bringing me a pot of baby lettuces to replant.
8 - All the above veg replanted in the front garden and now it looks really nice and properly "garden-y"!
9 - My friend (of the baby lettuces) brought me a few vegetables to eat during the week while she goes away on holiday with her DH.
10 - Feeling positive and looking forward to looking after myself more now that the spring is here.
11 - My family, they are great, the lot of them, warts and all I LOVE them dearly!!!
EDITED TO ADD: 12 - Got a little postnatal doula job that comes very handy now that my working hours have been reduced dramatically!
13 - Also got a small job teaching Italian to a local teenager who is studying it.
14 - LK Bennet yellow espadrilles found SERIOUSLY reduced at the Portsmouth outlet - had to have them, they look great when worn with my yellow M&S jacket.
15 - The weather!
Off to bed for real now, bye all!
Good night all, it was good to be away but it is great to be back! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0
