Welcome to meat_n2_reg, good to see a man joining in and sharing the pleasure of his days. And why not, we ladies can't have all the fun (just most of it!)

Kiwiblue I'm so pleased for you both that all is going well, both at work for your DH, and the fact you'll have a dry winter

Looking forward to hearing about Caterina's holiday on the IoW where my Grandma lived, and we spent many happy holidays when I was a child

    Wednesday blessings..

    1. Managed to find a gap for the basket I planted up yesterday, on the tiny bit of fencing between my neighbour's side gate and mine. It'll be a lovely splash of colour when it flowers.

    2. Pruned the eucalyptus and planted a rose, then inspected the espalier apple which is a mass of blossom. I bought it reduced-price as a few bare branches last year so I'm thrilled with its progress. There's also a gooseberry appearing on my gooseberry bush, bought as above, only the size of a pinhead yet but it's there!

    3. It was such a nice day I had a no housework day, spent time pottering outside, read, cooked dinner and went to meeting. It'll all still be waiting for me tomorrow with an extra day's dust to make the job more worthwhile :o

    4. Phone call from ex OH who has a pre-op hip replacement appointment in 4 weeks time. Told him not to get his hopes up as he had a heart attack 2 weeks ago but for his sake I hope they can go ahead - he misses the two loves of his life, his walks and his golf.

    5. Watching a thunder storm at midnight, sheet lightning and some rousing claps of thunder. I love to see it - as long as it's gone by morning!

Night night everybody, sweet dreams and ((((hugs)))) to all

Just flying on to say that my dad was returned to the caravan last night at 7pm :T I'm going over to York today to help Mum pack the van up and then wait for a tow truck to come for us all. They load the car onto the truck, you sit in the cab with the driver & they tow the van behind it. It'll be enough to give Dad a relapse :D he's very particular about his van :rotfl: Thanks for everyones good wishes & support. I'll be back on tomorrow I hope with blessings aplenty. Welcome to any new people that I haven't said hi to before. It's great on here :A

:j SunnyGirl so pleased for you all that your dad has been discharged. The van will be okay behind the tow truck, we had an alternator go in the car on the way back from a rally once (pleased it wasn't on the way there!) and they took great care of the van.
Blessings and very best wishes to you all

    2. Village social event in the evening.
    3. Finding lots of flowers on my soft fruit bushes so plenty of fruit to look forward to later in summer.
    4. Potato shoots in their planter bags all peeping through.
    5. Oh turned leftover lamb joint into delicious shepherd's pie.

SunnyGirl - really pleased to hear about your dad. I agree with sparrer, their caravan will be fine, these guys are really good. We had the brakes go on the car when I was towing many years ago and DS was still quite young. He thoroughly enjoyed the ride in the truck with the car and caravan behind.
Hope your mum hasn't found this too stressful and hope you dad is back to full fitness soon.

Not sure what happened there but my post disappeared so here goes again.

Sunnygirl - good news about your dad.
Kiwiblue - equally good news about dh (sorry but haven't caught up on the thread so not sure what had happened to him)
    meat_n2_reg - welcome

    Yesterdays highlights:
    1. Getting my car tax disc through the post which means I can go to the garden centre for some compost and get my veg going.
    2. Making a really delicious creamy chicken pasta using the last of the chicken. The carcass is now in the slow cooker to make stock/soup base.
    3. Clearing away the brambles that were strangling my 2 of my rhodedendrons.
    4. My cat chasing the tendrils of the brambles as I dragged them out. Then she decided to have a mad few minutes running through the grass (which is very long) and pouncing on blades of grass as they blew in the wind. Very funny.
    5. Loading the dishwasher so that it was all done and put away and a quick general tidy round before I went to bed meant that everything was neat and tiday when I left for work this morning.
It's a bit grey again because of the haar but still fairly mild. Great weather for gardening as the midges stay snuggled up in their beds rather than coming out to bit me.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

    Hi all, here's mine:

    1. Walking to sainsbugs and finding out that the 15 minute each way walk is less stressful than driving round the car park!

    2. Finding said walk goes past trees with beautiful blossom on and there's a shortcut through a nice park (that I never knew existed :o)

    3. Not overspending in Sainsbugs and even having sneaked in a packet of crumpets ;)

    4. Knowing we have just enough food left till next friday (payday).

    5. Enjoying the sunshine.

    6. Picking up my missed packet from the post office and finding it's a free pack of organic peppermint tea as a thankyou from having done a taste survey :D

    7. Hoping my hips and buttocks have decreased in size from my little extra walk today ;)

Evening everyone. Just getting over fallling in the bathroom last Friday when lo and behold I fell up the back doorstep today with the step ladder in my hands. I can vouch for the fact that step ladders do not make a soft landing. I was trying to get the house straight after the DGK's had stayed but now my pleasures are:-

    1. Having a lovely time with DGK's so for the next few days the house will look like they've been.

    2. An afternoon nap to get over bouncing myself round the kitchen.

    3. Closing eyes to the work and doing some crafting this afternoon.

    4. A wonderful DH who did some vaccing when he came home.

    5. Just taking it easy tonight.

    Bella.
