I never knew someone with more than one birthday before apart from the Queen. You lucky devil
P.S. Happy Birthday!!!!0 -
goodness bella, I wish I could do that - even my ol' mum can at the age of 87 but I struggle to...not fit, that's my problem
Sunnygirl my thoughts and prayers are with you all, it's good to hear your mum is with friends. I know from my years of rallying just how lovely everyone is and how caring they all are, so she'll be in good company.
Saturday blessings...
1. Had to think for a while about these today, it's been very quiet and quite dull but on reflection I have a lot to be thankful for..including have a quiet day, there weren't too many of those in my drinking history. An uneventful day is a blessing in itself, it gives us time to sit and think about the 'ordinary' things we have to be grateful for.
2. No bills or worrying letters arrived today, it's a long time since I had any of those. I got an invitation to apply for a credit card, it's a long time since I had one of those either - a credit card, not the invitation. Thanks but no thanks, today it's cash or go without
3. DS phoned to ask how to cook potatoes Anna...he's getting quite adventurous in the kitchen. And still phones his mum every day, there was a time I didn't hear from him for weeks on end.
4. Went to buy some flowers for my SiL who's doing a big family dinner tomorrow, the supermarket had a mottley looking lot but I just caught the farm shop before they closed and they'd got loads of daffs and tulips at two bunches for £1...I bought 3 of each! I also bought a lotto ticket but only got one number. I'm pleased someone else has won, their need is obviously greater than mine
5. Just me for dinner again today so I had my favourite meal, 2 pork strips with wholegrain mustard with rhubarb crumble and cream for afters. If I ever had to have a last supper, that's definitely what I'd choose :rolleyes2.
Night night all, an early one for me before the trek to Oxon and Berks tomorrow.
Sweet dreams

Hi everybody
Sorry not been on here for a few days as Tonsillitus returned with vengence so been bed ridden lately but Penecillin now starting to take effect so ventured on here at this late hour as had a nice nap during the day & still not tired.
Thoughts are with you Sunnygirl & Happy Birthday to Patchwork Quilt. Oh Sparrer you do make me laugh - I also have regular bouts of foot in mouth disease too lol!
I shall list my pleasures for the last few days as I feel like they have all rolled into one lately;
1) Reading your lovely posts after being unable to use the internet & being fed up with being ill, they really cheered me up. :j
2) Having my wonderful DH be my nurse again :A- Im surprised he hasn't had me put down with my low immune system.
3) Having my 15yo DSD come to stay & she got mucked in helping out with DS & housework without any complaining - she even baked cakes with ds - bless her - she is growing into a lovely young lady :A
4) Recieving a bunch of tulips & a box of chocs from my parents & a get well soon balloon from DSis - really cheered me up. :grinheart
5) Having DS proudly run in my bedroom with his drawings to make me feel better & him melting my heart by telling me he's missing me being downstairs :happylove
All thats left to be said is Happy Easter everyone - Wishing you all a peaceful time x

My 5 for yesterday:
1. Making decisions about how to finish off the garden (and planning to go to the garden centre today).
2. Hiding Easter Eggs for DS to find - at 11 he still enjoys ths part of Easter even though he knows which eggs he is getting.
3. Getting some more study done - I'm on track to complete the next assignment on time if I knuckle down.
4. Giving our cocker a much needed haircut - she looks so much better and shouldn't shed so much around the house now.
5. Taking time out to chill and curl up with a book - I've only started getting back into the habit of reading regularly recently and had forgotton how much I missed it.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans.0 -
Morning all and Happy Easter,
I had a slow day yesterday (in bed till lunchtime!). So here's my 5:
1. Watching an old comedy, giggled away with tears streaming down my face, a really belly laugh!
2. Going for a nice walk and enjoying everything being quieter
3. Doing some soduku puzzles
4. Watching shopping channels minus sound so no sales patter, I didn't buy anything remembering Martin's quote: Companies aren't my friends!
5. Receiving an Easter present from a neighbour
NualaBuala - great to find another fan of Patak's curry pastes
Hope all those poorly get better soon - take it easy Bellaquidsin and Scousewife and best wishes for SunnyGirl's dad.:ADeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Good morning everyone and Happy Easter.
Yesterdays pleasures:- Waking up to the sun streaming through the window.
- Having a really nice quiet and relaxing day, lazing around drinking tea, crocheting and watching tv.
- A bit of a gruesome pleasure when I witnessed a beautiful female sparrowhawk kill a pigeon - but it was nature in action and I suspect the hawk has a nest close by and has to feed it's young. What was fascinating to watch was the crows that were dive bombing the hawk. Nature can appear to be cruel but I was still grateful that I witnessed all this in my garden.
- I took the dogs for a lovely walk at about 7.30 pm last night. It was still sunny and warm and there was noone about. The best thing, though, was that for the first time since February I actually felt well enough to take them and enjoy it.
- Having all of my children home last night with their partners. It's a long time since we've had a house full.
