Five OS Pleasures in your day today

So glad for your friend and her family shopndrop.
My pleasures today:
1. 2 lovely long phone calls with DD
2. Long chat with DS who has been feeling down - it was good that he was out for a walk and was then going to buy some more food - their fridge-freezer had been unplugged. I was glad to be able to send through a little extra shopping money for him ( a student
)
3. Moved my bedroom furniture around and painted the rest of the bedroom, apart from behind the wardrobe - waiting for DH. Although I haven't really enjoyed painting, it has been a good feeling to buy the paint locally and crack on with it myself.
4. Sitting outside in the garden enjoying some sunshine - with a jumper on as it was a bit cold.
5. Carrying on with my eating from cupboards and fridge. Had a baked potato with blue cheese, a big salad and some asparagus. Also sneaked in a glass of wine. No running for me tonight - now, do I count that as a pleasure:)?
Have a peaceful evening all

Evening everyone!
Hope you're all well and enjoying the easter break. I'm studiously avoiding going into 'town' as i hate the fact that it's rammed full of teenagers skulking around during school holidays so am saving a fortune - how MSE is that?
The bonus is that i'm spending more time at home enjoying the company of my little ones and practising my baking
Today's pleasures were:- Making banana bread with some manky looking bananas using a recipe from my MSE book, it tasted delish.
- Drying my washing on the line, although it wasn't a gorgeous day it certainly was windy here
- Doing finger painting with DD, using old cereal packets as paper.
- Home-made fish pie for supper
- S-t-r-e-t-c-h-y Chicken sandwiches for lunch

Morning all,
Nice words from scousewife about appreciating her family. Good to see Sunny Girl's dad now driving, keep him encouraging SG.
Good to see people sorting bits for local charity shops, I understand donations are really down, so do your bit.
1. Reading my library books (read one of them in one night!)
2. Tried a Jamie Oliver tip of using Patak's curry pastes -babychick, good for you for making your paste, one day I will make some:o
3. Sister noticing I've been decluttering the house - it's still a tip but she can see I've been busy.
4. My financial reconciling stuff (spreadsheet) to keep tabs on spending - I cannot account for exactly £20, am sure I will work it out
5. Sitting in the garden (rain rain go away...)Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage
:cool2: Cherryprint: "More stuff = more stuff to tidy up!" Less things. Less stuff. More life.Fab thread: Long daily walks

Dubious pleasures today but here are the good bits:-
1. Buying more salad seeds in Wilko's and some fleece to keep the pigeons and the cabbage whites off my brassicas.
2. Lovely chicken salad from my rubber chicken
3. Visit to the dentist ONLY cost £136 - enough to make me  but I know it could have been much worse.
4. Making card no. 3 of special order of 7. Each card takes 2 hours so it's good to be ticking them off the list.
5. Knitting more of DGD's summer cardigan.

1. Potting on some tomato seedlings. (Some of the tomato seeds were from a packet of MoneyMakers dated 1998. I've sown some of this variety every year and there are still a few left).
2. Visit to the library to stock up on books for a forecast damp week-end if it's too wet for gardening.
3. Leisurely pre-holiday lunch from freezer items.
4. Picked our first rhubarb today. Two healthy plants promise lots more helpings.
5. Sent Easter card and chatty note to elderly friends who are going through very difficult times healthwise.
6. Just heard that Bob Quick had resigned as a result of the Terrorist Security blunder. At least we have one person in public service still prepared to do the honourable thing. Wish some of the other culpable people in public life would follow his example instead of hanging on to their allowances and high salaries by their fingernails.0 -
Hi all, pleased to be back after almost a week without a computer...the withdrawal symptoms started with MSE forums going AWOL then my laptop decided to throw a wobbly in sympathy. I managed to use my daughter's laptop when I visited the other day but wasn't there long enough to post, so here's mine for the past few days...
1. Getting back on line so I can join the land of the living again
2. DNeighbours 10 y/o DD coming safely through an operation
3. A pot of lilies of the valley which I though were dead but planted out in the garden anyway last year are now 3 inches high!
4. The lady at the PO telling me if I buy over a certain amout of euro's I get a better rate so DGD and I pooled together and got more for our £'s
5. In the name of economy I've decided to have less meat and more veggie meals, and so far have thoroughly enjoyed all of them...my step-dad, who was a master butcher, is probably turning in his grave!
6. My brother has invited me for lunch on Easter Day...not a big deal you may think but this is the first invitation I've had from him in 3 years. Mind you he did say he knows I'm not 100% fit and won't be offended if I don't accept, so just to be cussed I jolly-well am accepting :rotfl:
7. I 'won' two beautiful pieces of chintz on ebay for £1.50p, enough to make 2 cushions and a bolster for the small bedroom.
8. During my enforced separation from the internet I've done more housework than Aggie and Kim, even cleaned out and washed the walls in the cleaning cupboard...how drastic was that?!
9. Received a phone call from some friends in Spain who have asked me to go for a holiday later in the year, and take DGD. I'm not telling her yet as anything can happen but I know she'll be over the moon. She's already got a clock on her laptop counting down the seconds til our plane leaves for Rhodes on the 25th!
10. A deposit into my bank for £86.87p from a survey site. Perfect timing as the car tax is due at the end of May
Take care everyone, night night n God bless

Morning All, I'm feeling a bit sore this morning after a fall in the bathroom but let's concentrate on the positive.
My pleasures yesterday:-
1. A good clean round in the bedrooms made them look nice and cared for.
2. Spare beds made up ready for DGK's coming to stay next week.
3. A lovely sparkly bathroom.
4. Three fairy princess castle cards sold @ £3 each. I'm working hard at getting my crafting budget back in the black before DH retires in June.
5. Making more 'castle' cards.
Happy Hols to All.

I didn't manage to post yesterday but enjoyed reading all your messages.
Here's my five for then.
1. Having a nice afternoon taking a 4 year old out swimming and getting paid for it- my job is so hard at times!
2. Sorting out my old mobile to sent to MIL - she'll be so chuffed.
3. Looking through old photos and having a laugh.
4. Getting some studying done even though it was late and I didn't really feel like it.
5. Playing with a chocolate lab puppy. She's only 10 weeks old and I love the way they skip around the place. Shame she's not mine though!0
