Five OS Pleasures in your day today

Hello folks.
Lovely to read all the pleasures in your days.
Here are my blessings for today
1. DH pointing out the wonderful pink sky tonight and a trail of pink which a plane had made
2. Making up my DS's room for him coming home tomorrow for the week (he's 500 miles away at uni)
3. Making chicken soup tonight for said DS
4. Enjoying seeing my dog recovering with the help of her wonderful anti-inflammatories. I've had to stop her playing and leaping around.
5. Gardening today and seeing such a difference in a relatively short time (shows how bad it was).
and another extra
6. Buying pansies from a stall at someone's garden and knowing that the money goes to them rather than a big company.
Hoping everyone has a good night's sleep tonight

Welcome to scrummymummy and I hope that Quasar managed to take up your offer!
Unfortunately not. I should have really offered them up elsewhere and feel guilty that i didn't. I should have pm'd really and not let the thought being accused of stalkerdom worry me
My blessings today were:- Managing to 'save' some bedlinnen that i had kept in storage boxes for the past couple of years by using tips i learnt on here. Drying said bedlinnen in the breezy sunshine today and then freecycling it to a very grateful single mum (i'm a great believer that by giving to others, you will be rewarded, as DH has a new job for tomorrow, i think i owe karma a thing or two).
- Cuddling with DD on the sofa and watching a film this afternoon, she has been so good about her new baby brother, even though at times i know she finds it difficult to not have my sole attention, so it was nice to be able to give her some mummy time.
- Whoopsied Organic Roast Beef for sunday dinner and enough left over for some yummy sandwiches for DD and i tomorrow.
- Clearing out my toiletry cupboard of products that have been open for longer than the recommended time, not particularly OS or MS in itself, but taught me a valuable lesson to only buy what i can reasonably use (does that count?)
- As DH is up early tomorrow, he's sleeping in the spare room, leaving DS and I to snuggle up together alone. The 'new' man in my life doesn't argue, make loads of mess or make me watch crappy sport on telly; and he doesn't snore either

Only just found this thread - really nice, like it! I'll add mine:
1. Making HM pizza for son and four year old best friend, and getting them to help
2. Clearing out office with DH in preparation for redecorating - got rid of so much pointless paper
3. Not sure if this counts - paying off a credit card debt in full with money that DH earnt doing an extra job last week - bonus money we didn't expect
4. Chatting with a new (but becoming old) friend about love, life and the world, and finding even more ground in common
5. Had two phonecalls from bride and mother of bride thanking me for cupcakes I made for their wedding last week, saying how much everyone loved them. Big glow!0 -
Seems like everyone is having a good weekend. Makes a change for the sun to be shining here and it's amazing how much better it makes you feel.
Hi to sarahs999 - paying off a card is defiantely something to count you should be proud that you put your extra money towards this and I imagine it would have been so easy to spend.:A
Today my 5 are:
1. Having a lie in as DH got up to let the dogs out and watch the Grand Prix he had recorded.
2. Going for a nice walk in the woods with my crazy cockers and DS - They've been neglected the last few days while I was not feeling good so I feel like I've made it up to them now, especially as they got a bit of roast chicken tonight as well!
3. Planting my summer bulbs and sorting out my hanging baskets. - it was nice for the weather to be nice enough to spend some time outside.
4. Changing the beds - I always look forward to going to sleep with the smell of clean bedding.
5. Apple pie for desert - ok so it wasn't homemade but at just over £1 it was worth every penny and ther's still enough for a few more portions!!
Look forward to everyone's messages tomorrow.0 -
Evening all.
1. House has been tidied, cleaned and vacuumed through in a 'good enough' way.
2. Lots of sunshine after the clouds had blown over. The light, late afternoon, was just beautiful.
3. Lying in bed for a rest after lunch, doing sudokus and snoozing because I'm still feeling awfully tired, although heaps better.
4. Treated DS1 to a bottle of expensive shampoo by using up a £5 Boots voucher that expired today. He was so pleased. He'll only get more if we get another voucher at some point!
5. A good OS one to finish with  ... DS2 playing out in the street with his mates this afternoon (very OS) managed to throw a frisbee (should have been a football to be totally OS, but a frisbee is a good approximation  ) through the neighbour's sitting room window. DS2 apologised to him straight away and said we'd cover costs; neighbour was fine and I sorted out someone through Yellow Pages to come out and deal with it because it had to be made secure for tonight. It was a good example to all the children around that disasters can be sorted in a friendly and efficient fashion, and that owning up and apologising helps. DS2 had lots of cuddles 'cos he was really upset. We all knew it was an accident and nobody was cross with him. (The fact that this has cost us a stupid amount of money doesn't belong on this thread!!! )
(((((Hugs to all who are still poorly)))))

Didn't get around to posting any blessings at all yesterday
. Hope all our invalids are feeling a little better by now ((((((hugs)))))) for any who still need them.
1. Dgd Caitlin slept right through Saturday night for me - little sweetie and was such a love when she woke up and mummy wasn't around.
2. Sunday was such a beautiful day - no winds, gorgeous sunshine and of course, an extra hour of a sunny evening to enjoy.
3. Another couple of loads of laundry washed and dried outside.to take advantage of the weather.
4. DS1 visited with his g/f and her little boy. They've got no hotwater/heating at the moment and asked could she bathe the little fella here. He was all cuddly and clean afterwards and promptly fell asleep. Needed carrying to the car afterwards.
5. Phone call from DD to say she would be late back home and could dgd1 be dropped off here around 7. Lovely to see her as we don't get all that much time with her now due to school and going to her daddy's at weekends. Made hot chocolate with marshmallows for all the children before they went back home again.
6. DS1 took both dgd's back home - saved me a trip out again as I was shattered. Still need to put the cot and toys away to get my home back in order again but it will only take a couple of minutes.
Haven't done a hand's turn of actual housework this weekend, so will need to find some time during the week to catch up properly - but at least the laundry is all sorted. Also need to find some time to catch up on a couple of modules for my training course - oh dear
.

Morning all, hope those who have not been feeling well are on the mend now. Didn't get chance to post yesterday so these are for Sunday.
1. Getting some of the Plantation Sugar from Home Bargains that Olliebeak talked about and having it on my porridge, yummy. Going back for some more today if they still have it.
2. Buying some teabags in HB that were only 39p for 100 but have only got a short shelf life, but hey, what can go "off" with teabags, and they taste excellent too.
3. Parents coming over for a belated Mothers Day lunch yesterday as we were at DS last weekend.
4. Re-potting the sweet peas that I had bought from HB into bigger pots. There were about 100 tiny plants for 99p and I had bought 2 of these so should have some lovely flowers to cut in the summer. I just love the smell of sweet peas.
5. Finished dusting and vacuuming upstairs so off to yoga now. Will try and finish the housework later.0 -
Mineallmine - it's taken me years to find a foolproof yorkshire pudding recipe - the trick is using the same volume of eggs, flour and milk. I use half a cup of each (about 2 eggs) and get a dozen yorkshires
