    Hi all
My ds has passed his germs onto me so Ive no voice & feel pretty lousy at the mo but reading your posts & seeing the amount of new posters on the thread is a delight. Welcome all new posters x
    My 5 for the past couple days;
    1) Having an understanding & wonderful dh who finished work early & got stuck into the household chores that I couldn't do as well as do a food shop & cook tea.
    2) My ds being an angel for me as although only 2yo he understood mummy wasnt well so he played quietly & kept giving me kisses & hugs throughout the day - bless!
    3) Gargling good ol salt water & drinking honey & lemon - eased the sore throat for a bit.
    4) Being glad that I had plenty of clean ironed pjs in my wardrobe.
    5) Lying in bed listening to the howling wind & rain outside & snuggling under the duvet.

    Enjoy your weekends all x

    Hi everyone!

I haven't been able to log on since last Saturday. Been very busy working but very glad too for the extra income.
Have caught up with all the post now. So sorry for those who have been poorly. Hope you get better soon. And glad to hear of those who have been poorly and now making steady recovery. Welcome to all new posters. I am new myself and love coming here.

My 5 blessings for today including highlights of past few days:

    1. Day off work today and still feeling motivated and energetic.

    2. Have home cooked meals in the fridge and freezer -very time saving, thanks to OS board- would never have been this organised a year ago :D

3 Enjoyed going to the Ideal Home Show - free, courtesy of Martin.

4.Found a pair of MBT shoes at Ideal Home Show - to finally start making some progress on my New Year's resolution to be more physicaly active! Not very OS I know but there were at 60% discount :D

5.This is an odd one -but the grey sky and rain outside is helping me to get stuck in and tackle my 'to do list' and paperwork.

    Have a lovely weekend everyone.

  • Thanks all for the lovely welcome, it's so wonderful to have 'friends' who understand my mutterings about over consumption and convenience, DH doesn't always get it ;)

    My pleasures today were
    1. Waking up at 0930 as DH had taken the kiddiwinkles downstairs for breakfast. I never realised before i had children just how special lie ins were...
    2. Homemade bannoffee pie for mid morning tea break (i'm not a very confident cook and in an effort to save £'s have been trying with some basic dishes, i was very impressed with this especially as it was made with tesco value digestives)
    3. A 'free' exercise session, spring cleaning the bedrooms. Who needs gyms when your house gets this untidy with 2 little people and a husband to chase after ;)
    4. A glass of wine from our holiday stash (my parents live in spain and we buy some on the way home for a pittance - compared to UK prices), especially lovely as i was alcohol free for the duration of my pregnancy.
    5. Chatting to a girlfriend on MSN, her son has chicken pox and we're trying to think of inventive and cheap ways to entertain him.
    Sleep tight all :)

    Today's pleasures:-

    1. Not very OS but I've had a new food processor as my old one broke, but looking on the bright side

    2. The burgers, rissoles and cottage pies etc. I will make with it are very OS and

    3. Part of the money used to pay for it is money I have saved on my food bills over the last few weeks, and

    4. DH had a voucher to make up the rest of the cost.

    5. Half price joints of meat from Mr. S, frozen away for when the posh visitors come.

    Bella.

Hi Shopndrop - HomeBargains is absolutely lethal if you're trying to be good about spending habits. Soooooooooo many bargains that you're spoilt for choice! I managed to keep out of ours today :D. OH is an absolute addict though - lol! Hope you enjoy your family get-together - it is ridiculous when we all only seem to see each other as a family at weddings and funerals - but we all do it time and time again.

(((((hugs))))) for scousewife - sounds as though you've got what I had for the past couple of weeks. You've got one very supportive OH and family there :D - make the most of them ;).

Reverbe - don't let that put you off donating to a charity shop. I'm sure that they were grateful, but sometimes they have so much out on display that they keep things back for a short while till other stuff clears. Is there perhaps another shop that could benefit from your things. Sounds as though you're in for a mammoth movie watching session :D.

Thriftyscotslass - more non-sleepers in my family. DS1 was around 3 and DS2 about 2 when they both slept through for the first time. DD would sleep the clock round, but the hospital were concerned about her feeding regime and absolutely insisted that she be woken during the night to be fed - you just can't win sometimes can you :(!

Useful OH there, Sarahsaver :D. Can you send him to Liverpool please ? I promise to send him back again when he's cooked my tea ;)!

JaySL and clutterydrawer - what busy people you both are - lots of meals and goodies there :D.

scrummymummy - we all know and understand what OH's are like! They take ages to get used to OSing. Once they realise that they aren't being deprived on a sheer whim and that they too will actually benefit from all the moneysaving - THEN they get on board :D. I just have to rein my OH in from blowing our budget in HomeBargains after I've done all the saving on my part!

Oooooooo a lovely new Food Processor, Bellaquidsin - I'm green with envy. I keep thinking I'd love one and then wondering if it's worth the expense and walking away from them again. I do have some vouchers from work that I could use, so it wouldn't actually cost me anything at all. I need to check out Wilkos and compare with Argos to work out which would be the best value :D.

    Mine for today:

    1. DD arrived around 10.00am with dgd2 (age 18mths) for the day and overnight. Spent a lovely 20mins playing on the comp with her on 'In the Night Garden'. I used to have her every weekend but since DD and OH have split up he's been taking the two children to his mother's for weekend visits.

    2. After lunch of beans on toast we went to our local shopping centre and hit the charity shops :D. We haven't done this for ages and she is such good company even though she's so young. Bought a couple of children's books and a great Leapfrog toy for dgd, complete with batteries and working properly for 50p :).

    3. Next stop was Asda where we went on a whoopsie hunt. Quite a few goodies 'with my name on them' today ;).

    4. Coffee and dgd's tea in Asda cafe before we came home again.

    5. Indian meal for tonight - all whoopsies from ages ago. Discovered that dgd loves Peshwari Naan Bread dipped in Buttery sauce .

    6. One snoring dgd is now tucked up in her travel cot dreaming of Iggle Piggle and Upsy Daisy - little :A. Please God she sleeps through tonight :D.

That's me done for today. (((((hugs))))) for all who need/want them - nitey nite  - love Ollie xxxxx

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
What a strange day it's been weather-wise, sunshine, rain, winds, and so cold today. I was lucky enough to miss the two hail storms we supposedly had as I was in the next town during the first one, and having my siesta through the second :o

    Saturday blessings...

    1. Phone call from DGD No2, could she come for the weekend as her brother and sister have gone to their father overnight. This happens on alternate weekends which gives her parents a weekend on their own together. When I was a child my grandma lived 60 miles away so holidays with her were always very special. I always feel very honoured that DGD wants to spend her weekends with me - it could be something to do with her being thoroughly spoilt while she's here!

    2. DGD and I went shopping then thought about lunch in Mackie D's but decided we could do better - we bought 100% steak burgers and fresh rolls and went home to make our own with fried onions and grated cheese. Added some wedges and a side salad and enjoyed it much more :)

    3. Between showers we planted the Marguerite and pansies I bought this morning - more white and yellow flowers for my sunshine garden :D

    4. DGD went to play with a neighbours DD, then woke me with a cup of Earl Grey after my siesta, bless her she knows how much I enjoy one in the afternoons - without hot, or any other type of milk! At 12 years old she could teach yesterdays waitress a thing or two :p

    5. The BBC1 Sessions: Annie Lennox on television this evening which rounded a good day off very nicely :cheesy:

Night night and (((hugs))) to all, sweet dreams

Ollie no we only have 2 now since one closed and became a Subway... and one of them was the wool and one the other stuff. I will still give them stuff but think it only fair to mention/question as if they are not grateful or rather gonna get the benefit I will save them and take them to one say in another town. But that does spoil the attempts at decluttering. :(
