I second that! leaving...- Finishing washing my car (not actually doing it!)
- Sharp new pencils and a brand new pad of A4 (narrow ruled)
- Finding silver change (or better) in a coat/trouser pocket
- getting into a freshly made bed, with crisp sheets, after a hot shower

Hello and welcome Melonade and TheWealth :hello: - good to meet you both
.
...........All fairly cheap really!
Hey those are the best blessings of all!
Looking forward to delivering the remaining notes about the clocks today  - but unfortunately the winds haven't died down yet, looks like I could be doing a 'Mary Poppins' over the rooftops of Huyton later :rotfl:.
I'm sure that March is supposed to 'come in like a lion and go out like a lamb' - so what the heck has happened! It's been like this since last weekend now. The fact that we live on top of a hill, surrounded by acres of derelict land (from a neighbourhood regeneration programme that's been paused by the present economic climate) doesn't help either - nothing to block the wind when it does blow.
Oh well, off to dig deep into the freezer to see what kind of soup is lurking in there for lunch- fingers crossed for Spicy Parsnip .
hugs to all - love Ollie xxx

Morning all and welcome to all the lovely newcomers...keep coming back! I love the name Melonade, it sounds delicious, and TheWealth, which would be just wishful thinking for me
Hope everybody is feeling better this morning ((((hugs))))to those who need one - and those who don't but would just like one anyway
Thursday blessings...
1. posted Thursdays blessings last night but the post appears to have gone AWOLNever mind it gives me the [strike]excuse[/strike] opportunity to sit down with another cuppa and do it again
2. Postie brought me my company pension forecast for the coming financial year, I'm going to be better off by a whole 20p a month, after tax of course:eek:
3. Olliebeak you always make me smile with the tales of your job, I can imagine the tenants wouldn't let you forget putting your clock back after all the reminders you handed out. It brought back happy memories of one New Years Eve party when my tenants were doing the Hokey Cokey up and down the stairs, along the corridors at 12.30am, and I asked when they were going to bed. I was told I'd got no stamina! (Bless them they forget all the work that goes into organising and running the events). I found the most useful piece of equipment was my foot spa, which I still have to this day - not used as much as it was then though
4. Enjoying my afternoon cup of Earl Grey and a blueberry muffin before putting my feet up for my siesta, then woke to find the sun on me. What a perfect afternoon
5. Coloured my hair and got rid of the inch-wide grey parting :rotfl: . I can happily face the world again now - well the dentist anyway, she has the pleasure of my company this morning..
Hope everybody had a good night and that the weather where you are is as nice as it is here yet again

oops, just read Ollies post, sending sunshine your way0 -
Oh well, I was out of luck for Spicy Parsnip - Leek and Potato it is then .
:hello: sparrer - one New Year's [strike]Eve[/strike] Morning, I had to resort to taking a few home using a wheelchair that one drunken [strike]old girl[/strike] guest had left behind - just don't ask how she got back home again !
We don't have a Community Room in this new scheme, so not able to organise any parties for the past two and a half years - such a shame as they were legendary _party_  .
Chicken leg portions are out of the freezer for evening meal - to be served with couscous stuffed red peppers .0 -
Scared1980 - my daughter is in a similar situation to yourself (and about the same length of time too). Just keep strong for your two DD's - they need you more than ever right now((((hugs))))
Thanks for the hugs :0) I am really lucky, my DDs have handled it REALLY well... my eldest just says that it is nice being just us girls and how she doesn't miss hearing Daddy shout as she used to sleep with her hands over her ears
Anyway... my 5 today...
1) Hugs in bed with my girls
2) Coming downstairs to a shiny sink :0)
3) Realising that I can put a wash on in the evenings without it disturbing the girls (my house is old and the water system is VERY clunky)
4) Coming into work and finding a hot cuppa already on my desk!!
5) Getting a text from mum inviting me over at lunchtime for lunch (she lives 5mins from where I work)
I like writing/reading these lists... they make me smile
Hugs all round :0)

Melonade and TheWealth Hi :hello: and Welcome to this wonderful thread where we exploit the Power of Positive Thinking.
And now to find today's pleasures......

Have to agree with scousewife. I think this thread makes us focus on the good things even though we think we have had a bad day, reading through this does make you think of the possible few good things that have happened without taking them for granted.
Also sparrer I have to agree "There's no stress and I love coming here to escape from any problems". Just reading about other peoples lives and blessings can lift the spirits.
Bellaquidsin - this is a lovely phrase "this lovely thread where we wear our clouds inside out"
Welcome to Scared1980, buggalugs, melonade and thewealth
1. Finding a top my mum wanted in the sale in M&S reduced from £20 down to £7 and they only had her size.
2. Sawing some large logs that we had been given as firewood as they were too big to fit in our store. (It did make my arms ache though). More to do today.
3. DH also sawing some when he got home from work.
4. Getting lots of hugs from DH last night, much more than usual.
5. My washing machine just finished so popping the bedding on the line whilst the sun is still shining, just hope they don't blow off the line, it is so windy here but they should be dry quickly and ready to iron this afternoon.0 -
Morning all - just
Have been up since 7, honest guv, and flying hard - the flyladies would be proud of me
A big welcome to Scared1980, Buggalugs, Melonade and TheWealth :hello:
Primrose and Shopndrop - glad I made you smile with wine o'clock
Wine o'clock is a well known institution in our house - the rules are it has to be past 9 o'clock, it has to have been earnt and only 1 glass on a school night :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
5 blessings from the last couple of days:
1. Lots of hugs from dd - she is 13 and having a hard time at school. Over the past few days we have talked lots & lots and she is now "blaming" me less and coming to me for love and support, which is much nicer.
2. Watching my family wolf down sausages (nice pork ones, very little fat), mashed potatoes and mashed carrot & swede last night. You should have seen them the night before struggling with a chicken chop suey I had concocted - it was foul but they gave it their best shot, bless them :rotfl:
3. Being up-to-date with the washing :A
4. A phone call offering me 2 weeks work in May :T
5. Having a sleep yesterday afternoon. It must have been needed because I was out like a light for 2 hours
Hope everyone is keeping well. ((((((Hugs)))))) to all that need or would like a hug. Enjoy the rest of the day.0 -
1) Creeping back to bed after the boys went to school. I have had such a stressful week and needed to re-charge my battery
