Well it is now wine o'clock,

Love this expression, made me chuckle.

Feeling really pleased with myself so far today.
    1. Made some fruity bread in the BM and had a couple of slices, OK then chunks, with butter, for lunch. The rest will go in the freezer.
    2. Checking our energy prices on a couple of comparison sites and realising that we are fine with our current provider. The next cheapest is nearly £100 per year more, just grateful to Martin that we switched when we did and capped too.
    3. My dressing gown was looking a bit old and grubby on the cuffs and when I suggested buying a new one, DH suggested I shorten the sleeves which I have done this morning. I now have a better looking dressing gown. Can't believe that OH even thought to suggest this.
    4. Our shower curtain was also looking a bit grubby along the bottom despite me trying to get the marks off. Again DH suggested that I shorten it. Have done that too and it looks os much better.
    5. DS telling me he has been on emergency tax code so is due a tax refund. Really chuffed for him.

    Hiya all
It really is lovely reading this thread & getting little glimpses of different peoples lives. Its so interesting not only to get an insight into what people do with their time but about their surroundings, family & pets too - Livens up my otherwise mundane existence so thanks all :A
Thanks for your well wishes for my ds who is now on the mend - Doc the Soc helped when it came to medicine time.;)

    Mine for yesterday;

    1) My ds who is still in nappies announcing out the blue that he wanted to use the toilet which he did - me & dh whooped & cheered & gave him a sticker - It was the highlight of my day! :D
    2) Getting some time to stroke & groom my bunnies Daisy & Primrose - who were well behaved & seemed to enjoy it.
    3) Recieving a food parcel for dfil whose cupboards & freezer are full due to wellmeaning family & friends who like to make sure he doesn't go hungry now my dmil has deceased. It includes 4 tins of corned beef so intend on making corned beef hash one night & inviting dfil to join us.
    4) Realising my ds was on the mend when he began his pirate fighting antics again!

    Tuesday's Delights

    1. Still being on a high from getting a text from my Oh who I haven't seen since last May. It is almost unheard of to get a email, call or text from them.

    2. Going to a lecture at the University up the road on "Sex And The Citizen" a study on sex and sexuality in films, videogames. and novels with Fay Weldon being one of the speakers. Entertaining, Interesting, thought provoking, and met Fay in the bar over a lovely cheap chilled glass of white wine.

    3. HM Lentil dahl

    4. Buying the new Wallace and Gromit DVD which will lead to hours of fun.

    5. M&S cranberry and orange hot cross bun for brekky.

    6. Clearing out my money pot where I put found money - tho I didn't have enough of the right coins to totally empty it I still managed the following - buying Wallace & Gromit for £9.47 from Tescos, a Jack Lemmon/Doris Day dvd from charity shop for £3, U2's War on cd from HMV for £6 and also put £18 worth of change in the bank.

    7. The Rolling Stones/Scorcese movie from Lovefilm

    8. Defrosted HM stewlike chicken, vegetable and barley soup for lunch

    9. Voucher for Jo Malone free hand and arm massage for me and another in the post

    10. Oprah mag - not very OS but they last me ages and are a very good read.

    11. big bag of Mr T value oranges YS for 50p

    12. huge pile of cookery books form the library and also found a load of half used books of stamps on the floor there including 50p ones which I can use when I sell books on Green Metropolis.

    Today's pleasures:
    1. OH returned home after four day trip. Lovely to hear his whistle as he stepped
through the door. The house felt very empty without him.
    2. Buying some nice Easter cards for family and for one elderly friend who lives
alone and is badly disabled. Will find time to write a little note to enclose so that
    she knows she's not forgotten.
    3. Mischievously enjoying the shocked look on a neighbour's face when she
popped into my kitchen and saw a big pile of used dried up teabags in a bowl
on the counter. "Oh, I always re-use my teabags" I told her airily. Can't bear
to waste them. " One of these days I'll tell her that I save them to line the bottom of my pepper and aubergine pots to stop the compost leaching out when I water them. (She'll probably never want to drink tea in our house again!).:rotfl:.
    4. Going to local concert this evening.
    5. Delighted to receive first e-mail from a friend who has just mastered the basics of using a computer and the internet.

    Good afternoon all!

Here are my five for today:

1 - Up early, breakfast with DH (omelette, toast and yogurt with fresh berries).

2 - Pattern cutting class, making good progress, traced the cardboard bits, next will be the calico!

3 - Bought good quality calico for very little money (in case anyone is local and interested: Rolls and Rems in Lewisham).

4 - DS saved the towels from the rain, I called him and he was still home and managed to get the towels in before it started raining hard.

5 - Free Vitality Show ticket for tomorrow, courtesy of another of our OSers (thank you, you know who you are!) who managed to get them, tomorrow we will go there together, it is one of the highlights of the year for me, can't wait!

    Love to all

    Caterina
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
  • Happy Wednesday everyone! These are ours for recent days

    1) Listening to DD singing and DS playing the guitar with a friend who comes every Wednesday to give them some encouragement. I join in secretly in the kitchen.
    2) A lovely scarf from my MIL. Wore it to work because I couldn't bear not to and found that the heating had been switched off, so it came in very handy
    3) Another early birthday present - a lovely book of handmade paper. I love blank paper.
    4) We are living out of the freezer this week, so no cooking!
    5) Taking a shower without having to wear a rubber glove. My thumb is healing up (from the inside out, apparently) and is now waterproof

Good evening you lovely lot! :D

    My five for Wednesday:

    1. Having a really nice hot bath this morning.

    2. Getting on with work very happily with DS1 - we laugh a lot at the moment when working together.

    3. Driving up to London and back to see about some possible money-earning work (avoiding most of the rain - don't like driving in the rain much - and getting there in good time).

    4. Buying and reading a newspaper today.

    5. Being given a guided tour of the seedlings/little plants by DS2 when we got home. It's lovely how much attention he is giving to their growth and the little changes from day to day.

I'm shattered and off to bed pretty soon. Sweet dreams everyone.
