Ollibeak I don't like chocolate and orange together either, in fact I just like my chocolate to taste of chocolate :D

I've missed ampersand and her posts too, but she has been pressing the thanks button until yesterday. I'm hoping she just needs some 'me time'? I hope she's alright, and ampersand if you're reading this please know we're missing you and thinking of you :)

Congratulations on your find jvs, may it be a small start of bigger things to come!

    Sunday blessings...

    1. A good journey round the car park (M25) I avoided most of the traffic by leaving early. I've learned the hard way that on special days it's best to travel before 9am to avoid the crush

    2. Spent a super day with DM, we had a delicious roast beef lunch in our favourite restaurant then wandered round the French market and did some shopping afterwards

    3. DB visited to bring DM her card and pressie, haven't seen him for some time as he visits her on Thursdays and I go on Sundays so it was good to catch up with all the family news

    4. A long-drawn-out trip home, M40, M25 and A1M all crowded so pootling along at 60/ 65mph - it seems everyone had the same idea as me, to leave after 7pm and avoid the traffic. The blessing there was it saved about a quarter of a tank of fuel - not saying I usually drive a little faster, of course...:o

    5. A lovely greeting from the mogs and the dog, anyone would think I'd been away for a week judging by the meows and wags I got when I walked in the door.

    Night night everyone, sweet dreams

Yup - quite agree - though I do lurve chocolate with nuts in  and it just has to be freezing cold! I actually hide mine underneath the veggies in the freezer - dk's/dgk's wouldn't dream of touching a bag of sprouts or cauliflower ;).

    Hi all

Olliebeak, yes it was inspiring and very good to have DH with me, somehow it didn't double the pleasure, it compounded it - he is so good at the design stuff that I know he will make great use of the ideas and suggestions.

    Today's five for me:

1 - My visit to the Italian consulate for a bureaucracy thing was nice and quick (sometimes it takes all morning!).

2 - No time for breakfast so I treated myself to a nice bagel with cruncy peanut butter in Victoria Station

3 - Went to eye hospital, although there is a possible problem in my eye (maybe a small tear in retina), if it is so it is reparable by a quick laser intervention. Glad I caught it in time!

4 - DS and DD are cooking me a Mother's Day dinner tonight!

5 - Because of the above celebration DH came back home early (ish) from work, so I am off the computer now!

Have a good evening everybody xxx
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

    Evening all,

Feel quite puffed out this evening, so am going to do a bit of paid work at home, then have a bath, I am shattered! But I have lots of lovely OS blessings to post, so here goes:

    1. Getting a really nice email from someone this morning
    2. Having a chat with a fellow passenger on my journey home, I soon found other "strangers" also starting up conversations around us
    3. Letting a cab driver have a (fairly generous) tip which meant I just caught the train, karma!
    4. Finishing off dreaded paperwork, only need to pop items in the post
    5. My bathroom mat set from Aldi, been looking for a set for ages - it's is a bit fluffy though. Might damp them down and give a spin in the tumbler drier.

Right over and out. Off to have a quick wizz around the rest of the site and then to do some paid work stuff. Caterina, should be off of here by now sitting down to her lovely Mother's day meal.

Mineallmine - how organised you are :T. I can do 'spreadsheets' but I just know that I'd never keep up-to-date with them. I think I might just have a go with a small accounts notebook - more likely to remember to keep track that way. I could keep it in my shoulder bag and then use my 'me-coffee-time' in Asda to tally it all up while I've still got the receipt handy :D.
Olliebeak, you're too kind! It's something I've started this month. It is hard to keep it up to date, but if you do it every few days it helps. A book is just as good, as a useful way of checking your spending.

    Evening everyone,

    My 5 for today are:

    1. Getting through my list for today - feeling very organised now :T

    2. Mum rang to say that their rhubarb crown that they were given on an allotment last year has poked through. I took pleasure in it as I'd helped Dad dig the hole & plant it.

    3. A lovely afternoon once the lashing rain & wind had died down.

    4. A chat with a neighbour who I haven't seen in a while.

    5. An anticipated early bath & relaxing evening.

    Only two today:
    1. Getting down on my hands and knees and giving the kitchen floor a good scrub, especially clearning all those lurky bits at the base of the skirting board with a toothbrush, and putting on two coats of Shine. As the flooring tiles are 30 years old it was rather like trying to tart up a 90 year old for a Ball, but at least that's one bit of my spring cleaning done
    2. Similarly cleaning all the grotty pipework and skirtings in our downstairs loo. Where does all this dirt come from ? I vacuum every week but I think the dirt bogles breed overnight while I'm asleep.
  • Evening everyone

I haven't posted for a few days, so it's lovely to be back.

Kiwiblue - I am so pleased everything went well with your dh's op.

((((Hugs)))) to Reverbe - I hope you are feeling a little better soon.

Here are some blessings from the past few days:

    1. Catching up with this thread :D

    2. A weekend away with some very good friends - not money-saving or os at all but what a giggle :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    3. Ds and dd being genuinely please to have me back :smileyhea

    4. A belated mothers day complete with hand-drawn card and home-made cake from dd.

    5. No work and a long lie-in today to recover.

Enjoy the rest of the evening everyone xx

Haven't posted for a few days as just getting over what must be the worst cold I have ever had. Seriously, how one can person can blow their nose so much in a week 'll never know. Anyway feeling a slight bit better today and decided that I'll venture back to work in the morning. Primrose, you made me laugh with your cleaning exploits, I just wish I could be as enthusiatic about it as you. Reverbe - hope you cheer up soon. Unfortunately I dont even think I have finished my list of things I wanted to get done by last Thursday and the weather here has been freezing and rainy. However, my 5 for today are:

    1. Picking up my new pink specs (pretty trendy they are too!)
    2. Eating cold leftover apple pie. (mmmmm)
    3. Getting back to writing my essay (should have been in by last Friday but I was given a weeks extension).
    4. DH making chinese with leftover chicken.
    5. Off to chill out with a magazine and then watch Heroes.
