  • Lovely posts today, this really is my favourite thread in MSE - it has done me a power of good thinking of all my blessings rather than concentrating on the negative all the time - so a big thankyou to you all :T

    5 for today:

    1. A lovely thankyou card from a friend after our weekend away.

    2. Watching Bill Bailey on dvd :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    3. A sparkly clean bathroom :A

    4. Being at home when dd and ds come in from school - although teenagers, they really do seem pleased to see me which is just lovely :D

    5. An ironing pile which is half the size it was 3 days ago :T

Well it is now wine o'clock, take care everyone xx

    my 5 blessings for today

1.Lovely to read all the posts -makes the world seem a better place - I feel that you are all such good friends
    2. Went to a great craft store today and spent ages just wandering round - bought a couple of things I needed for card making and cross stitch at very reasonable prices
3.HM lamb curry for tea - none left over for freezing!!
    4. DH finishes work tomorrow for 6 days holiday - really looking foward to doing some jobs together as well as having couple of days out and about
    5. Last but not least, this is a very big blessing. Our old cat, Edward, went out at 7 last night and did not come straight back in, we could not be found him anywhere, which is very unusual for him, as he is 20 years old this year and does not venture far now. DH and I were up in the night looking for him and I was in the garden at 5.40am calling him, but still no sign. I had started to think the worst when he appeared on the doorstep at 7.45 this morning to a chorus of ' Where the hell do you think you have been?' Thank God he is ok.
    (((((((for all who need TLC))))))
    Goodnight and God Bless
    xx

    Hello everybody :hello:

ampersand - Ian has now got 206 members in his group! Poor Tracy doesn't stand a chance of arguing now ;)!!

sunnygirl - it's good to keep up with 'pre-baby' friends. Wish I'd made a stronger effort years ago when I lost touch with my 'then-best-friend'. It's all too easy to drift apart and develop other interests that each other no longer share.

Great news about your eyes, Caterina. My optician told me I've got 'floaters' at my last check-up 2 years ago. Due for another check now!

Hope you ds is getting a bit better, scousewife - bet he's enjoying the sock puppets!

Thanks for asking, shopndrop - feeling much better :D. Can't believe how grateful I am for just being able to breathe deeply!!

Great news on the cards sales, bellaquidsin! Sounds like a good salesman - watch him, he may start wanting commission;)!

ooooooooo jvs - bet you were so annoyed with Edward, while being relieved/pleased to see him! They scare us so much when they do things like that!! Tiggy-tiger disappeared for a full 24 hours when we first moved here two years ago. I checked the old address (not far away) but no signs. Turned up bold as brass the next day - he'd got stuck in somebody's 'side entry' and couldn't get out until they opened the gate  !

    Today's blessings are:

    1. Another no-spend day :D!
    2. Paid the balance for our holiday in May :j! It now feels 'real'!! Only need to get the travel tickets sorted in April and we're done - Scotland here we come :D.

    3. Lovely visit from DD and dgd (Caitlin aged 18mths). Caitlin has been cow's milk/lactose intolerant from birth. Helen had her to the hospital yesterday and they've asked her to try giving cow's milk for 24 hours to check the tolerance level. Fingers crossed!! Would be great to think that it may only have been short-lived. Caitlin had a dish of my scouse that I'd had in the freezer specially for her.

    4. Making a start on my NVQ3 programme today - well I put the pages into a folder IF that can called making a start lol! (Why the heck am I bothering, at the age of 57, with an NVQ that isn't actually necessary for my job ? I must be crazy!)

    5. Home-made Pea and Ham soup for lunch today with crusty bread - mmmmm!

Hope everybody has had a really good OS day - nitey nite

Wonderful news Caterina, I'm so pleased for you that you didn't have to have the laser treatment. And for being seen by your young, Indian, gorgeous Doc ;)

jvs what a relief that Edward came home...I was holding my breath til I read that he's okay. What a wonderful age he is!

    Tuesday blessings...

    1. Waking to lovely sunshine after yesterdays rain, I think 'Someone' must have read my last post

    2. Got down to some serious cleaning, I now have a kitchen and bathroom that gleam. For today...

    3. Mowed the lawn with my 'new' freecycle mower, it's small, light and covers my pocket handkerchief lawn in minutes whereas the old one took me almost an hour and I had to stop to get my breath halfway. It's so much easier now :j

    4. A neighbour came to the door this morning holding a sandy coloured ferret, apparently it was on her doorstep when she came back from taking her son to school. I lent her my car carrier until the animal rescue people came to collect it, to keep it safe from the all dogs and cats in the square. I've never been close to one before and it was actually rather sweet, very tame and affectionate, and quite enjoyed being stroked.

    5. I have a dental appointment on Friday in the town where DD lives - she phoned to suggest we have lunch out as three of her family are unwell so not really wise for me to go there this week. It will be lovely to have time with her, usually there are children and dogs everywhere which makes for chaotic visits. I love them all though :A

    Night night everyone, sweet dreams

Thank you everyone for your messages. The car accident wasn't a nasty one, just a nuisance and, apart from DS1 having a stiff back for two days (both children were in the back, sitting properly and with seat belts on) we were fine and the car is still driveable. I don't think the other driver will be a problem either. He admitted liability straight away (hard not to since I was stationary), volunteered his details and driving licence and was terribly apologetic. I feel sorry for him though 'cos he looked like a student in his 20s and his car was fairly old - hope he has no claims protection.

    My five for Tuesday:

    1. DS1 getting a very nice haircut from a hairdresser family friend.

    2. DS2 telling me with glee, and making me laugh, about his breakfast this morning which apparently comprised: a bowl of cheap cereal, a bowl of more expensive cereal and a bowl of the stupid-price stuff with chocolate bits in it that is meant for treats - all with full fat milk  followed by two rounds of jam sandwiches (ie four pieces of bread) then a big bowl of greek yoghurt with fruit. You'd never guess he's a skinny, active 14 yr old who is growing! How is one supposed to be MS in these circumstances (times two because DS1 is also growing and eating non-stop :D )?

    3. Putting my knitted slippers in a long, hot machine wash with a tough (sorry about yours Reverbe), rough bathmat to bash them around and felt them and they have ended up just like these pictures only mine are undyed wool so slightly variegated cream and grey in colour http://www.allfiberarts.com/library/aa05/aa090105.htm such an easy pattern, they fit beautifully and I'm really delighted. I want to see if I can find some way of putting soles on them to make them more robust.

    4. Getting another possible couple of work opportunities.

    5. Lovely oranges in today's veg box.

Sleep well and big hugs to everyone.

Thriftyscotslass - love your definition of "wine o'clock". Makes a change from "the sun being over the yard arm". :rotfl:
As the morning is still young I'll post mine later.
