I never tire of reading this thread :)

I had a bad start to my day and am exceptionally tired tonight, but my five are...

    1. Putting washing out to blow on the line, and catching it in just before the rain started
    2. Fixing my hoover and going through the whole house bar 1 room
    3. A sparkly kitchen and bathroom
    4. Using up frozen chilli shepherds pie from the freezer so only having to cook some cabbage to go with
    5. Both me & OH having the day off, it's a treat to have him around with him working so hard lately

Scared 81 and buggalugs, Welcome to this lovely thread where we wear our clouds inside out, that is with the silver lining showing.

    Today's pleasures:-

    1. DH completing the digging out of an old border ready for my veggies.

    2. DH going into competition with Reverbe and finding a £5 note on our front drive - amazing what the wind blows in.

    3. An afternoon nap.

    4. More card making ready for the next batch to sell, only two more chances now then DH retires and the outlet is closed to me.

    5. Lovely meal tonight from a 44p pack of chicken livers an onion and half a tin of tomatoes. Makes up for yesterday's extravagance and we got twice as much as they charged us £££££'s for.

    Bella.

Hello all! Thank you for all the good wishes for the job, it is going really well so far but i am incredibly busy - which is why i've not logged on here since Sunday!!
Hi Scared1980 - welcome to the thread.
Reverbe - your Fay Weldon relaated pleasure sounds great I'm a big fan and did a few gender/lit modules for my MA.

    Pleasures for today and yesterday!
    1. Lovely veg box delivered yesterday
    2. Making a veggie hotpot with the contents of said box - a bit of a mde up recipe but it turned out well!
    3. Free lunch at a meeting today - i've had quite a lot of freebies this week in the name of 'networking' meetings!
    4. Relaxing on the train with my library book - much better than commuting by car, which is lucky cos we don't have one
    5. Meeting loads of lovely new people at work, I feel very welcomed.
    6. Managing to take packed lunches this week and keep on top of the housework - OH and i flyladying between us thankfully!
    7. Arranging lunch with a really old school friend who works at the same Uni as me now.
    8. Getting an invite from one of my best friends to her sons dedication (sort of baptism) in June - I can't wait to see them, he is such a little blessing!
    9. Anticipating the glass of wine that will reward me when the ironing is done - a girl needs an incentive.
    10. Coming on here and reading lovely blessings from posters old and new - what an uplifting bunch you are.

    Hugs to all ((((()))))

Hello all. Hope everyone has had a good day :hello:

    My 5 blessings for today
    1. Gleaming kitchen
    2. Not very OS but gleaming new cooker to go in gleaming kitchen - after cleaning my cooker last weekend, I decided to move it and clean underneath -however, the vinyl under the cooker has been burning and seeing as we live in a timber framed cottage, this was not good. I kept saying to DH that I could smell burning but who thinks of looking under the cooker!!!
    3. Lovely nap this afternoon with DH
    4. Gave myself a huge hug!
    5. Loved reading all your posts again today.
    Enjoy your evening
    (((((((((hugs for all)))))))
    xx

    Hello all.
    My blessings for today are:
    1. my lovely older doggie has managed to get up and about a bit this evening and out to the garden for a wee :T. Fingers crossed that her hip is easing now
    2. lunchtime sandwiches which DH made for me this morning.
    3. good humoured comments about my car from a student who was verrrry grumpy yesterday and who I'd sent out of the class. We both had a laugh today- always a good thing.
    4. Kitchen all sparkly because DH washed up - he does such a good job of drying the tops and everything (I was hoovering at this point in case you think I was loafing about)
    5. Finished a wonderful book & the ending was uplifting.

    Peaceful sleep to all tonight

Bella - thank you so much for the idea of inside out clouds to make their silver linings show. My day didn't progress as I'd hoped so this is the shiny side of what has been going on.

    1. Finding some flaked fish and little tomatoes in the fridge so made tasty sandwiches for lunch, and found an extra orange in the veg box so had that for pud.

    2. Sorting, weeding and shredding the unnecessary stuff in my 'car' file so now it only contains the important bare minimum. I'm babystepping my way through decluttering paperwork so only having the energy to tackle one file is just fine!

    3. Hearing some lovely news about a friend's child having achieved the goal she'd set herself.

    4. Sleeping through the afternoon because I gave in to my temperature and sore throat which I am sure will make me shake the bug off quicker.

    5. I know this sounds silly, but having a really good cry. I think it's been needed for a while and it enabled me to write and send a rather overdue e-mail.

Going to find some more fruit to eat and make a hot drink, then bed.

    Sleep well everyone x

Hi to everyone using the forum. I know it's been said before but it really is very friendly in here so amke yourself at home. I've still got a dreaded cold, but on the plus side it is at a manageable level and I dont feel quite so much like Rudolf!!

    My 5 are:

    1. Finished my essay at last!!!!!!!:j It will be a week late but the tutor knows so no probs there.
    2. OH cleaning the patio with the new pressure washer - looks like new.:D
    3. A nice relaxing day tomorrow as I've already done the grocery shopping today.... and managed to stay in budget. Just the ironing to catch up on and I can watch a film whilst doing that!
    4. Booked the dogs into kennels for the first time and going for a visit on Monday - they've never been before and I feel like I'm abandoning my babies :embarasse (two rather mental cocker spaniels!).
    5. DS in a great mood :A and spent a bit of time doing boy stuff with his Dad this evening. Seems to have had a personality transplant since we banned the computer and games on school days.

    See you all tomorrow!

Bellaquidsin - congrats on your find ;) - now you really are your name! and love the sound of your chicken livers meal - will give that a try sometime as we love liver. Good Luck with the cards.

Well done on finishing your essay, kaz :T - I need a kick up the jacksie to make a start on a couple of assignments for my course.

wmf - good news about your dog - hope her mobility is easing a little for her.

wow jvs - that was a close call with the cooker/lino - may give us all a wake-up call.

Scared1980 - my daughter is in a similar situation to yourself (and about the same length of time too). Just keep strong for your two DD's - they need you more than ever right now :D ((((hugs))))

    Blessings for yesterday and today:

    1. Did my usual reminder note for my lovely tenants about altering the clocks on Saturday and making a start on hand delivering them - 69 properties in total ;).

    2. Meeting up with the local Labour Councillor while delivering my notes - he was delivering their leaflets to remind folks about a new drop-in centre at the local shops so we walked and chatted together and it made the task go quicker :D. Councillors are always useful contacts in my job - never know when we're gonna need one :D.

    3. Lots of thank you's for the reminders about the clocks when I rang everybody this morning - they couldn't believe it was 'that time of year again'! A couple of years ago I told them all to put the clocks forward and then I went and put my own back instead - only discovered my mistake when I rang them all 2 hours later than usual :o. They've never let me live it down since - so fingers crossed I don't do that again  .

    4. Lovely turkey chilli meal yesterday made with whoopsied diced turkey thigh meat. Onions and garlic sweated in oil with paprika/chilli powder/cayenne pepper; add chopped peppers and mushrooms. Quick fry the diced turkey to seal and add the veggies back into the pan along with a tin of chopped tomatoes and a tin of kidney beans in chilli sauce. Bring to the boil and simmer for around 20-30 mins. Served with pasta and garlic bread - very yummy and warming :D. Left-overs went into a container in the freezer and will do for a jacket potato filling on another day.

    5. Re-organised my kitchen work tops into a much better working layout. Was so proud of myself. Started to cook tonight's meal and realised that it wasn't any better at all - and promptly changed it all back again! OH thinks I'm doing it deliberately to fool him - as if :rotfl: :rotfl:!

    6. The BIG rock-hard plums that I bought at the weekend have now softened up and are absolutely delicious - so much so that I've eaten three of them today! No doubt I'll 'pay the price' tomorrow morning ;).

I hope that everybody has a good night's sleep and especially all those not well with colds/breathing problems etc. Nitey nite all  love Ollie xxx

Hi everyone, this is the first time I've posted on this thread but I do read it quite a bit. Always lovely to hear what cheers up peoples days :D

    1. There was a robin INSIDE Asda this morning, we spotted it walking round while we went through the freezer section. But it made my day watching the staff trying to get it out :rotfl: And it stopped the madness of me realising I'd picked the wrong que again and would probably be there for 10 minutes!!

    2. I planted a bush for my Nan this aft in her garden. It was freezing and windy... not nice BUT she was made up so that's a winner :D

    3. I was helped by my son to plant some seeds for a herb garden, he's really enjoying it and admitted today that he checks the tiny tomato plants everyday to see if they've grown any bigger ;)

    4. Should of put this first but I've typed it in order as the day happened. My son done really well at his Judu grading tonight and has moved up a belt so I stitched his new tabs onto his new belt befor he went to sleep. He was really pleased and I'm so proud of him :D I can't really sew very well and don't really enjoy it, but this really was a pleasure :j

    Haven't got a 5th but I'm so happy about number 4 I really don't need one :D
