  • Good afternoon everyone. I sliced my finger open with a veg knife on Monday, spent two sleepless nights in terrible pain and found out this morning that it is infected and the infection spread through the skin ... Moral of the story is - go to hospital first. Don't stick it together yourself and hope it will be ok.

    So mine today are

    1) Unexpected day off. I slept most of the morning.
    2) I appreciate the fact that people at work have filled in for me.
    3) DH worked at home so we have had him around all day
    4) Being walked out to local lunch by DH in the sunshine, and a lovely salad for lunch

Anyway, I'm on the mend. My thoughts go to everyone else in more serious situations.

Owww Patchwork that sounds horrible, hope you are on the mend soon!
Ollie I hope it went ok yesterday, I've been thinking about you when playing with my kitty today(she thinks sitting on all the papers when I'm putting the recycling out is great game) and sending you lots of hugs - he was a beautiful puss!
    Welcome all new posters!

Mine for yesterday and todayish in no particular order:
    1. Beautiful sunshine on both days!
    2. OH bringing me some lovely tulips as a "well done for getting your new job" present!
    3. Using up the last of the green veg from the veg box in a yummy risotto last night.
    4. Choir last night - always a joy! We we're singing an arrangement of Loves divine which I adore.:D
    5. LO HM raspberry cheesecake when I got home - very naughty but nice! Th rest is now in the freezer waiting for a dessert emergency.
    6. Getting a batch of washing out into the sunshine today.
    7. Meeting the veg box lady who brought us some great organic veg again, I've offered to write a foodie blog for her to keep my hand in so we had a good chat about that and I saw her beautiful wee daughter!
    8. Having lunch outside with OH as he was on a research day today;)
    9. Chatting to our neighbour - the nice weather is bringing everyone outside and it is really nice to meet people properly.
    10. Getting all the veg washed and put away and planning our menu for the week full of great healthy, homemade food ( apart from the cheesecake....:o )

Phew after than marathon I'm off to make dinner. Hugs to all those who want or need one.

I'm full of cold today:confused: and need to get a 2000 word essay finished by Friday  so I had to think hard to get these!!

    1. Blossom appearing on our plum tree in the garden.
    2. Planning meals for the week and realising I will only need to spend about £30 on shopping to feed the 3 of us and 2 dogs.
    3. Cooking tomorrows curry early so it will only need warming up then - easy tea.
    4. Finding out that my SIL will pay for my MILto go to Austrailia to visit her and the baby when it is born - this is almost as good as winning the lottery to her.:T
    5. Cleaning the downstairs of the house. It always manages to make me feel a bit more positive when I am in tidy surroundings.

Poor you Patchwork Quilt, hope your finger is soon healed.

Back with mine for today now.
    1. Been in the garden for most of the day and it is now starting to look tidy again.
    2. Had a leisurely bath to ease the aches from gardening so that hopefully I can do some more tomorrow.
    3. Popped in to see mum & dad for a chat and cuppa. They are always pleased to see me.
    4. Had what DH called a "free tea" tonight. We had visitors a couple of weeks ago and had some roast left over. I plated it up and managed to get 2 meals from it so that was tea tonight. At one time, DH would have just finished the meat off after the visitors had gone and I would have thrown the pots and veg out. (hangs head in shame!).
    5. Just had a really good chat with DS on phone and arranged to go and see him at the weekend. Will probably end up going to Greenwich market on Sunday with him. I just love Greenwich.

    Hi everyone,
I don't always post, admit I am more a "lurker" and don't always get to post.
But I like to thank all posters who take the time to jot down the little things that brings so much pleasure in day to day life and the love and care shown here.

    My 5 for today:

    1. being encouraged by the postings here (have felt just a bit under the weather)

2 "Shine my sink" - feels much better I can see my sink after all the dishes done. By the way, I am no FLYLADY!

    3. Use up my vegs sitting in the fridge and sorted lunch for work

    4. Discovering "Spotify" website - thanks in part to newspaper summary forum :)

    5. No spend day

    Hi all
Welcome kittikins - Its lovely that yet another poster is sharing their o/s pleasures with us all.
Poor you patchwork quilt hope your finger heals soon.
Hope you get rid off your cold soon kaz665 & complete your essay on time.
    My 5 for today are;
    1) Pushing ds to & from the park on his trike & enjoying the lovely weather along the way.
    2) Being thankful that the local council have at last built a children's playground on our nearby park & seeing all the children (& parents) getting so much enjoyment from it being there.
    3) Watchin my bunnies playing with their 'new toys' consisting of kitchen & toilet rolls & a nappy cardboard box - It brings me more pleasure than recycling these items.
    4) Reducing my shopping bill by another £10 this week & taking advantage of many of the offers at Mr A's including a packet of 3 lipbalms for just 10p!
    5) Getting my Scouse prepared & in the s/c on low to be cooked overnight so tea sorted for tommorow already.

Hugs to all who need them. Take care xxx

Lots of waving at all the new people posting here :hello: :hello: :hello: Thank you for all the new pleasures you are bringing. Heal quickly Patchwork Quilt and Kaz665!

    My five for Wednesday:

    1. Loving the sunshine.

    2. Putting sheets and towels out to dry on the line.

    3. Another sports training session for both boys at lunchtime. DS1 accidentally broke a key piece of kit last week (at least £50 to replace new) and his coach turned up today with a second-hand replacement that he had got spare which he handed over as a present. Lovely man. I am so grateful.

    4. Seeing my 4yo neice at tea time. She'd made a HM chocolate cake (with help) and decorated it with bucket loads of icing and hundreds and thousands. Delicious.

    5. I've got nearly a quarter of this year's Christmas present money saved now in my sealed pot.

    Sweet dreams everyone.

(((((hugs PQ))))) I'm pleased your accident hasn't stopped you from typing and posting. Get well soon to you and Kaz, hope your cold soon goes
Welcome kittikins, good to have you on board...

    Wednesday blessings...

    1. A long leisurely lunch with DS, nattering about what we've been up to the past few days. He went again this evening until after the weekend so the time we had together was very precious

    2. Eventually finished getting the small bedroom emptied, the wardrobe was the worst as the back came apart when we moved it but DS soon put it back together with some tacks, screws and a brace :).

    3. Got all the nets washed and dried in the sun, the windows cleaned OS with warm water and vingar, and nets ironed and hung again. A job I've been putting off for weeks but I don't know why  , it really doesn't take long once started

    4. Lovely chat with DM on the phone, she tells me she has a gentleman friend in the supported housing scheme where she lives, who she's invited for a drinkie tomorrow. She said she was pleased it was hairdressing day today but that didn't know what to wear...sounded just like a teen but she's 87 and h'e 83! :rotfl:

    5. Struggling to stay awake here to finish my 5, having had a lovely warm bath and now sitting in clean jimmies with a cup of hot chocolate at my elbow. There are clean sheets on my bed...oh dear, I can't resist any longer ;)

    Night night everybody, sweet dreams
