Five OS Pleasures in your day today

There are so very many kind and caring people on here. I thank you each and every one, but wanted my countrywoman, kiwiblue, to know special thoughts set off on the stroke of mid-day/midnight for you both and for the skills of those in whom OH's care rests during these coming days.
I deliberately stopped my kneading of bread for several minutes ahead of that hour to absorb and 'fix' a good vision to send: forsythia blooming(except where sparrows and chaffinches have stripped buds around their central landing point)and kerria about to, one peacock and one yellow butterfly dancing[first seen at w/e],contrasting with violets and Big Boy pheasant foostamping warning to rival on table, 2 wrens chasing each other through hedge, all the rhubarb looking so good.
It's with you now.
It IS good to see new people to welcome - hello atypicalblonde and Bobbykins.
To the sorrows of olliebeak and reverbe(loss doesn't go away), you have been blessed with unconditional affection and love which cannot alter and you have shared that with everyone reading here. Thankyou, therefore, to tiggytiger and Skinny.
Again, thankyou to all who have been so kind.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Reverbe - My youngest son (nearly 11) also has the ability to find money
and red postman elastic bands :rotfl: which he's obsessed with!
My five for today are:
1. Anticipation of gorgeous smelling spag bol with 2 peppers & 3 carrots hidden in there to get some veggies into the kids
2. Beautiful sunny weather
3. Taking our dog, Max, out for a walk
4. Talking to my Dad whilst Mum was at the hairdressers - and panic stricken about leaving him alone. He was fine & was getting into the shower after gardening this morning.
5. Listening to Radio 4 play for the afternoon whilst making lunch.0 -
Hi there this is my first time on this thread:o
my 5 pleasures today
1, changing the beds and drying it all on the line
2, reduced TV chicken for dinner
3, made my own butter with left over cream
4, made cookies with homemade butter
5, sewing the hem on ds1 trousers instead of buying him new ones.£370/£300 April challenge :T:T0 -
Sunny and Broomstick it's not secret. I always walk with my head down, always have. Might as well look for money while I'm walking.:D
Caterina I am trying to lose weight at the mo and have never been much of a chocolate person so am either storing it in case I ever meet up with my OH again or saving it for when I run out of money for food.#
Aww thanks Ampersand. You are so right we always miss those we loved and lost.We had Skinny from the day he was born and kinda before that too so it was a HUGE loss. (((((((((((((((( again to Ollie and TT)))))))))))))))) xxxxxxWhat Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
Thanks for the welcome everyone!
I wasn't picked for the item on freecycle, so have set about sourcing some more sand as cheaply as possible. I have not spent a penny so far today which I am really pleased about. My HM sandwiches are lunchtime were lovely, far nicer than anything you can get from Pret or similar. I forgot to add my number 6 earlier:
6. Planning my meals for the rest of the week, using up what we have in the freezer. I will need to pay a trip to the butcher on Saturday but until then we will eat what we have in the house.

prayers for your DH kiwi. Look forward to hearing from you when you are back. I'm so glad that you have caring friends around. Will be thinking of you.
Ollie - prayers for this afternoon's crossing of the bridge. Such a hard thing to deal with -I've been there and will be, no doubt, again.
It's lovely to see you folks on here.
My blessings today are:
1. A lovely laugh in our little staffroom this afternoon - it made me feel so lucky to work with wonderful people.
2. My students were all little angels today and a real pleasure.
3. Anticipation of buying another bunch of daffs tonight when I go out for some food shopping. I loved watching my last ones blossom.
4. 2nd day mince and tatties for tea, yum yum. I really enjoy coming home from work to a home cooked meal, with only heating up to do.
5. Another anticipation - going to the pub shortly for a lovely cold Guinness to celebrate St Patrick's Day.
I hope you all have a relaxing evening.

Hello all
Kiwiblue - My thoughts are with you. Hope your OH's op goes well & wishing him a speedy recovery. x
Olliebeak - So sorry to hear of your loss. Losing a much loved pet is devastating - my heart goes out to you. x
Broomstick - Im really pleased your washing machine is up & running again - with a builder for a hubby & a 2 yo toddler I would be lost without mine.
Welcome to new posters atypicalblonde & Bobbykins.
My 5 o/s pleasures for today are;
1) Making myself return to a toddler group I hadn't been to for a long time & being so pleased that I made the effort as caught up with old friends & met some new ones.
2) Walked to toddler group & to the shopping centre instead of getting the bus. Enjoyed getting the fresh air & exercise.
3) Bought 2 rabbit ornaments from the charity shop for only 50p each.
4) Hearing news that a lovely couple that I know now have a much longed for beautiful healthy baby daughter - I am so happy for them.
5) Using a baby & toddler room whilst out shopping & it being spotlessly clean (for a change) - I thanked the cleaner on my way out as appreciated her efforts.
Hugs to all that need them xxx0 -
Evening all,
Feeling tired now so must poodle off soon. Hugs to everyone who needs one and welcome to newbies and lurkers. And a warm welcome back to ampersand.
1. Fly-ladying again today (back is aching as testament to this) but house is looking better
2. Turning the TV off tonight so I could do some work on household budgets
3. Taking lunch to work (like others have said cheaper, nicer to eat and no nasty packaging cluttering up the earth for hundreds of years too)
4. Putting sunshades on the car to stop it getting too hot (hurrah!)
5. Getting info together to rejoin the library
Night-nightDeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Hiya again
Tuesday's five:
1. An unexpected Lakeland gardening catalogue in the post arrived with a little packet of freebie salad seeds.
2. Our pepper seeds have sprouted at last - all of them.
3. This is not MS but an absolute treat in my book and will be lovely to use for cooking. We needed a casserole dish and I found a cream cast iron one at Mr S a few days ago, measured it (to see if it would fit the haybox I am putting together and if it was the right size for our steamers which need another pan to fit them - it did and it was) and I thought about it and went back and bought it today.
4. Lovely Leek and Potato soup for lunch.
5. So much sunshine today - it's been really uplifting
Sleep well and big hugs to all that need them.0 -
A very warm welcome to atypicalblonde, Bobbykins and sillyinthepast (love that name, you mean you haven't been silly since joining MSE?!)
I didn't get around to posting last night as it was such a full day I fell asleep at 8pm, woke at 11pm, and hauled myself off to bed to sleep until 6.30am!
Tuesday blessings...
1. Phoned DD as she's had a bit of a rough time this past week (lupus playing up plus tonsilitis) asked her if she'd like a little run out in the car. She jumped at the chance, so I said I'd pick her up at 10.30am. Two minutes later the phone rang, it was my 17 y/o DGD1 asking if she could come too. Of course she could, she's a lovely girl and always make me laugh. We went to the farm shop when DD chose some plants and a pot - a huge pot! I got a new dog bed and an Exchorda Macrantha 'The Bride'. Sounds good but no idea what it is ha ha, just that it's white and I'm trying to get my wee garden to be white and yellow so it looks sunny even when it's not
2. From there we went to a pub for lunch and had the most delicious Yorkshire and beef wraps with good, nose fizzing horseradish. Never had the wraps before and I can't wait to have them again. DGD had a chicken burger with a whole breast of fresh chicken! We all then had individual vanilla cheesecakes, but not one of us could finish them - not for the want of trying...
3. DD was happy to stay out a little longer so we went to a discount carpet shop where I bought an end of roll which we could only describe as apricot yogurt - very pale apricot with a pattern of what looks like little orange segments, only in slightly darker apricot, not orange, IYSWIM, for my small third bedroom. It cost the princely sum of £58
4. On the way back to DDs house we phoned ahead and 15 y/o DGS was waiting outside to help take the goodies into the house. His voice is breaking and although strange to get used the fact that he's growing up to he's going to have a beautiful deep, rich voice. He's not one for shows of affection but the 'Hello Grandma' said with such warmth and a big smile said it all. Then DGD2 came home from school. A shout of 'Grandma!' and a huge hug and kiss, even in front of her friends. Ahhh, bless her little 12 y/o sox :kisses3: . Anyone would think we haven't seen each other for ages but it was only last week! :A
5. DS came home after almost a week away. He arrived from work at about 4am, haven't seen him yet but I'm smiling inside to know he's safely tucked up in bed and we'll have a long chat later about all he's been doing at work these past days. I'm blessed with such a lovely family, I thank my God for them daily
Apologies for the long-winded post. Not at all an MS day but what the heck, I can't take it with me and it's only once in a blue moon (and/or perhaps a full moon?) I go a little crazy0
